THERE IS ALSO A VERY NICE GUIDE OVER ON STRATICS ABOUT THE RUNEPRIEST!
User Drav3n was kind enough to put it up so I am linking it here:

Clangeddin (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/member.php?u=22282) asked :
Can you heal me please?Yes, yes we can. And we will.
Do Runepriests have resurrection spells during combat?Yes. Actually, every single resurrection spell in the game can be cast while in combat. Each healer also has access to a rank 4 morale ability ( 100% of your morale ) that will resurrect all of your group mates that are dead and within range. You can also equip a tactic that makes resurrecting spells instant, but you get stunned for two seconds or three seconds after the spell.
Do Runepriests have instant cast healing spells?Yes, we do have an instant cast heal but it does very little healing. What it is great for though, because it has low AP cost as well, is keeping people topped off at the beginning of a fight or if you are low on health and running since you can heal over time and cast the instant heal on the run.
What's the survivability/armor of the avarage runepriest?Their survivability is weak at first. But, all Dwarfs have access to a tactic that increases our armor pretty high. We also have spells later on that for 60 seconds can increase our wounds by 100 which results in 1000 hp, and it goes on a 3 minute cooldown. On top of this at end game we have a spell that increases our toughness by 80 ( all incoming damage is reduced through toughness ) and if you die within the first 10 minutes of the buff, you can res yourself. My favorite Dwarf tactic though is one you gain at level 15. With each tic of your HoT, there is a 25% chance that you increase your targets armor by X amount for 10 seconds. This procs early and often and at end game levels results in an armor increase of around 1556, which is huge. We really excel in the end game areas.
ALSO: Thanks to Lokro : We can detaunt in pvp and if you don't attack who ever you detaunt it reduces their attack power by 50% for 15 seconds. Really gives melee a fit when you use it one them.
As an Ironbreaker, will I have to babysit a runepriest the whole time in pvp?I think the healers end up doing a lot of the babysitting ^^. We work well together. You help me, I help you.
sephentos (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/member.php?u=35750) asked:
is it possible to hide the hat or notIt will be possible to hide your hat and your cape but while the options are in game, it doesn't do anything just yet when you click to hide them. I expect this to be in at launch or soon after.
I would like to know how effective is the Aoe damage/healing mastery as this is the one i am loooking forward to playing. The healing masteries are amazing. The damage masteries are actually pretty lacking. We have three spells that I would consider "go-to" type of spells for damage. Two of them are from masteries. I can not think of the name for one of them but what it does is damage over time, but all of the damage done is returned to your defensive target as health. EDIT: THE NAME OF THE DOT AND HOT IN ONE SPELL IS RUNE OF FATE. The major damage spell is Rune of Burning which is a 6 second channeled spell that can be set back when hit, but if untouched you hit like you are a ranged dps career. The last good damage spell currently is your damage over time, I think Rune of Immolation, which you can get at level 2. Those three are the go to damage spells. You need 6 mastery points in the Path of Grimnir to get the AoE healing master rune which I love, and the rest of my points go into Path of Valaya since that is where the two major damage spells are.
How is the damage ratio of the runepriest , i would like to be able to damage aswell heal and buff maybe a few dots and ccs in there i played a moonkin in world of warcraft and would damage and heal in battlegrounds etc.. Is this possible in warhammer with the runepriest or not?I think we do decent damage early on, then it evens out and we are a step below the dps careers, but then at end game when you have the three abilities I listed, especially Rune of Burning, you can do a ton of damage.
Bundles (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/member.php?u=22344) asked:
Is there a certain path that makes the RP more difficult to be killed in PvP? You know, like the annoying guy who just won't friggen die?To be honest, you need to mix and match which trees you go in to get that effect. Each of the trees have a spell or tactic that REALLY helps the survivability. I think this is one of the great aspects of the RP is that our mastery paths are all really flexible. I think regardless though, we are that annoying career that is hard to kill.

What are your thoughts on the risk-to-reward ratio of playing a Rune Priest? What I mean is: Is the class challenging to play and are you rewarded accordingly for excelling at it? (the more difficult a class is the more fun I find it =)I think for all the healing careers, the ones that are played horribly stand out like a sore thumb. The ones that are played well stand out as well. I will go further into detail later in this thread on a question or two below.
Does the Rune Priest have some kind of DPS to Heal better mechanic similar to the Shaman's Gork and Mork?Nay, we have no mechanic, which makes us flexible in what we can do. We don't need to try to build up any mechanic or meter, we can just hop right in it.
How useful is the Rune Priest in longer fights? Does his utility scale the longer a fight lasts like the Melee and Caster Priests' healing mechanics seem to allow them? (I asked this question to a beta tester in the general forum, but would like to get the opinion of an experienced RP)We were intended to be the best burst healers in the game and while I do agree that we are, when played correctly I feel where scale the best in longer fights. We have so many spells at our disposal. We have a heal over time, an instant cast heal, an instant cast shield, a master rune that heals AOE style that sits on the ground for 60 seconds and we can cast another right after, we have a spell we cast on you and it heals a little up front, and then more over time, then we have a heal over time that also pulses to friendly nearby targets, we have a damage over time that allows us to heal for the damage done, we have an aoe heal, and we have a three second cast large heal. This also doesn't take into account that our heal over time when having a tactic on, can make your targets armor increase by a over 1500 at 40 which gives you like 25% more mitigation. It is hard to take somebody down when you take all that into effect, expecially with a handful of RP around or two in a group. Healing is fun because of the various routes we can take to get the job done.
How does the Rune Priest compare to its' mirror, the Zealot?I feel we are superior to the Zealot and I wanted to play Destruction. I just fell in love with the Runepriest after about 6 months of beta. I played Destruction exclusively for the first 6 months of beta and couldn't decide on a career. Once I tried the RP I just loved it. I like our healing better, I like our damage better. I dislike their harbingers a lot. The master runes work nicer.

What have your end-game PvE experiences been like as a Runepriest. Are there certain roles that you perform better or worse than others (single target healing, AOE dps, etc.)? Do you feel like a desired member of a group compared to other support careers, particularily when your group happens to be min/maxing? Do min/maxing groups (note: not a forced choice on anyone here, it'd be a group decision) encourage respeccing based on the encounter they are attempting?I have never once been asked to respec. I think we are the desired healer for Order since we require no mechanic to excel. I think the WP and AM is a toss up but I think our utility makes us outright superior. I don't think the other two get an instant cast heal, and I know for a fact neither of the other two healers have the tactic that makes the HoT give armor buffs to your target which makes tanking a hell of a lot easier.
Also, how challenging is healing when you have all of your abilities and mastery points spent? Compared to say a Warrior Priest and how they heal. Is it easier to make a good impression on a random player (during PQs, PUG scenario, PUG dungeon run, etc.) as one or the other? The challenge to healing at end game is just getting down a PVE routine for each encounter. I still have time to keep everyone up and sneak in damage spells as well. The hardest part of healing in RvR is forgetting what you know in PVE. Heal over time a lot, shield a lot, and if close to your enemy, abandon your three second heal. If the enemy knows what they are doing and they have propor assist macros set up, the three second heal is certain death.
Which mastery lines have been most popular with high level RPs? Are there any that are underrepresented?Path of Valaya has been the most popular mastery tree, but I don't feel one path is really unpopular. Of the three master runes I feel the first path, Grungi I believe, is lacking. It decreases the attack build up times by like .25 seconds so a three second cast becomes a 2.75 second cast. Compared to the other two master runes it seems almost not worth it. One rune does AOE healing which I love, and the other rune gives you a 20% chance to regain like 50 AP with each attack you do. Both of those are awesome.
And to go with that: Are RPs a well-represented career throughout the game?I think Dwarfs as a whole are underpopulated when looking at the other races but we are well respected in game and if you roll one in game and take it to high levels you will be highly sought after. This is the career I play for the next couple of years easy.

I want to know how effective HOT spells are in pvp. Are they powerful enough to keep someone up long enough for a bigger heal. Does specing in HOT path viable or is it better as a sub.I personally feel that the heal over time spells are the bread and butter of ours in RvR healing. Maybe one by itself isn't special ( except when you have that magical tactic I keep talking about ) but when you stack them together quickly it makes for quite the force on the battlefield.
Each player is going to excel as the Runepriest in different situations because we all enjoy playing different ways than one another. All I can suggest is testing various specs in various situations and then choose your paths and spell order based on how you enjoy playing.

hi.
how would you characterize a runepriest's survivability in RvR? from what i've been reading, they are supposed to be tougher than what we've come to expect from your standard healing class.
what did you find yourself using most, DH, HOTS or AOE?
what was the coolest aspect of the class?
what was the most challenging?
thanks for your time!!

08-19-2008, 01:20 PM
To the questions about leveling and soloing, it is not hard at all. If you haven't heard about the Open Group system or Open Party I would look it up. It enables people to just join groups at will for RvR or PQs and the like. You never have trouble finding groups and if you choose to solo it isn't bad either. Things are just easier when grouped.

Why do you prefer the runepriest over the archmage?
I dislike having to cast damage spells in order to get the most out of my healing spells. I also dislike having to cast heal spells to get the most out of my damage spells. I originally wanted to play a Shaman but then wanted to play an Archmage because I like the underpopulated realm and being the underdog. It just wasn't the career for me. Plus, it just doesn't seem right when I am playing a tank and my health is getting low and somebody tries to tell me "hang in there, if I can get off two more damage spells before you die, I have a nice heal incoming". I would rather just be able to always heal a certain way.

On the soloing and leveling, I agree with Varking. It's not bad at all. You do kill slower but it's not impossible. I also would recommend using the open group feature as much as you can. Runepriest really gets fun in group settings.
If you spec into Rune of Burning you can actually dish out some dmg for solo play. With that spell and my other base spells was not uncommon to have a NPC mob at under 10% before they got to me.

Archmage are very HoT and DoT intensive, which is what really brought me to the Runepriest. To touch on the note that Varking brought up I really disliked how unreliable I was in heals as an Archmage. While HoTs are valuable, the Runepriest has both HoT and DD (direct damage) heals and is better equiped to maintain hp. Archmages, however, do have the ability to burst heal very effectively with the use of the high magic mechanic.
Also, the Runepriest has more survivability in my opinion. Even though the Archmage has good offensive capabilities, the RP later on gets a bunch of tactics that increases armor making it possible to outlast a lot of other classes. Depends on your playstyle, both are viable as healers; both need support from other classes/people.

I have looked at the masteries and the path of Valaya and Gungri have 2 spells that are on 60 minute cooldowns as well as some instant cast and small cd's ( 30 seconds or less).
The path of Grimnir however has 3 spells on 60 minute cooldown and one on 3 hour cooldown - this means that you will hardly get to use these.

There are Core abilities and there are Mastery abilities. Any Runepriest no matter how he spec's in his Masteries will be able to train any and all of the core abilities available to the class.
What putting points in your Mastery tree of choice will do is boost the levels of all the abilities under that mastery tree by 1 level per point, and of course give you the opportunity to obtain the tactics and Mastery Abilities in that tree.

Class Balance
Okay, this deserves its own section because this is my biggest gripe about Warhammer Online. There are still some serious balance issues in the game that need to be worked out before launch. Some classes are overpowered and some classes are underpowered. There are even some cases where classes severely under perform for half of the game and then magically get fixed as they level up. I find none of the above acceptable in a RvR game. I’m not usually one to cry foul or start whining about balance but these are some serious issues. I could write a novel on all the imbalances I’ve encountered in-game but for now I’m going to bullet point these things to present them clearly. Here are a few I can think of off the top of my head:
Runepriests heal too well early on (and possibly later) compared to other healers. Don’t misunderstand me, they’re primarily a healer and SHOULD heal the best, but they heal so well that they can have a full group beating on them for over a minute and survive (around level 14). I have experienced situations where Runepriests run in circles while they have 6-10 people hitting them and they don’t drop below half HP.
Did you get the same feeling for the class, do you think the RP may get toned down or did it feel "right" ?
Drav3n
08-19-2008, 04:43 PM
Early on, Runepriests don't really have much of the survival they have late-game. I'm willing to bet that he's over exaggerating by saying six (let alone 10) players, pretty sure you couldn't last that long at end game with all defensive tactics equipped. To be totally honest, the survivability is right on, especially because we do so little damage. At a rank as low as 14 I don't see that situation possible, especially because you don't recieve your main armor tactic till much later.
It's possible that he didn't leave the DvG area, because Runepriest and Shaman don't mirror each other it's easy to see the Runepriest as the top healer. Shaman have more HoTs than a mixture of HoTs and DD Heals. When you see health going up by little ticks and look to your enemy and watch the heals act instantly it could seem overpowered. But, any class with healers spamming on him will seem "invincible"--the fact that the Runepriest can spam on himself makes it that much more apparent.
I've been taken down real fast, but I've also been able to heal myself under the pressure of three dps characters wailing on me. Depends on how you play, how your allies play, and how your enemies play.

Thank you in advance. I can already see how awesome this community is going to be. While some things dissapoint me about the RunePriest, the things that excite me outweight them. Thank you in advance. I can already see how awesome this community is going to be. While some things dissapoint me about the RunePriest, the things that excite me outweight them. I was worried we would be assist trained to death every BG. But it looks like we have good survivability to off set this tactic with the help out your group mates.
I'd really find a good group of players to mess around with. Runepriest or not, the game shines when you play with other people. Not only is it more fun, but it's a lot easier and a lot more rewarding.
Just interested, what is disappointing?

Two groups of questions.
First, about character stats so we can get a relative picture of what some of the numbers in heals/attacks/gear mean. What are typical values for base stats like Intelligence & Willpower, Health & Action Points. Similarly, what kind of values would we see on/from gear; how much armor total might we have, and what kind of stat boosts would a typical staff or primary piece of armor/gear offer (a decent 'blue' for example)? The understanind I'm trying to get out of this is a general picture of what a RPs vital stats are naked, relative to when they're in decent blues; and if a typical DPSer walks up to me and hits me with a typically hard attack, what kind of dent thats going to put in me.
The second set is about resurection. I see the Rune of Life core ability [a pretty standard looking resurect], Grimnir's Fury path of Grimnir ability [presumably one thats deep in; which I see as a moderatly-strong group resurect], and On Your Feet! career tactic [improving functionality in both of the previous two slightly]. Additionally there's an AoE resurect associated with standard tactics I believe (non class specific)? And I think there's supposed to be a self-resurect? Any additional info/details about these last two, or any other special resurect capabilities the RP can use would be great. And lastly, any explanation about positioning (where do people appear when they resurect?) or timing (do they get an OK box to accept it, or is it automatic/time-out) and any other special or unusual details about resurection in WAR (anything other than spells that might affect our rezzes, items or zone effects, etc., for example anywhere we're not allowed to rez).

When I first heard about runepriests and of course the class description on Warhammeronline website. My first thought was the class would be like a Friar(Daoc), which I think would of been awesome. They have very good close range staff damage but your primary goal is to heal but your staff packs a wallop of a punch in melee if someone gets close. It is offset by our weak armor. That is the way I pictured runepriest and I was hoping more of that. That way we also got to enjoy doing damage when our mates were all full life and it makes pve much easier.
So, in short i guess thats why I was dissapointed. I have played a healer in almost every MMO and everyone knows how much it stinks to level or pve with one. Now luckily in WAR the public quests and other things offset this.. But i am sure you understand where i am coming from.

Great questions, all of which are being included in the next version of my guide.
Stats
All your stats at rank 1 are 50 with 400 health (which is determined by Wounds). If you want specific numbers as to how much Willpower brings up healing and such, I cannot give you accurate figures at this time. Give me a couple hours/days of testing once I get around to it and you'll have something concrete. You'll see a lot of variation on gear, in Tier 1 the staffs hit 7 Willpower or Intelligence. In Tier 4, I've used staffs with 44 Willpower and 17 Intelligence. There's a lot of variation to allow differences, I'll tend to carry two different sets of gear on me--one with higher Willpower for grouping/RvR and another with high Intel for soloing.
Now, I've never seen someone get one-shotted by anyone of the same level...but that's not to say it won't take a huge chunk out of your life. Even at Rank 37, a Witchelf or Marauder is able to shut me down in 3 seconds flat if I'm caught off-guard. Tanks are a nuisance just because they have detaunts and in some cases debuffs, they can and will damage you just as well as any other dpser. To be honest, everything is going to hurt even after you get Ancestral Inheritance (Armor Tactic). What keeps the Runepriest alive is the ability to heal, and the detaunt Rune of Preservation.
Resurrecting
Rune of Life is your first res spell, brings someone back at 20% life exactly at the spot they died. They have to be in LoS and within 100ft range, they must accept the resurrection once it's finished casting. This is subject to change, but once you res them you untarget them. You have to wait until their character model appears to cast a heal, if you have the On Your Feet! tactic, it will heal them over 5 seconds.
Grimnir's Fury was sort of useless to me as it's group only. If my group is dead, I'm usually dead or I will not have the time to stop and cast it. I'd suspect this to be the case in an organized group as well, unless your Warband is really good at covering you and they have another healer (they should) you're not going to have a chance to cast this successfully (without dying yourself).
Alter Fate is the other group res, and it's a Rank 4 Morale. I haven't toyed around much with it, but I assume it would be useful. Instant cast if you have enough morale, but it's not something you can always rely on. Being a Morale ability, you would also have to sacrifice a morale slot to use it. With skills such as Valaya's Shield (HUGE heal with AP recovery), I'm sort of reluctant.
The self res ability is a buff. Which means your target cannot have Oath Rune of Power/Iron/Warding and Sanctuary at the same time. I'd cast it on myself if anyone, if I die the group will wipe a lot more easily--but that means I'd forfeit Oath Rune of Iron which ups Willpower. It's a battle of value here if you want to be reliable. I'll probably end up casting it on myself if I know I'm going to die.

For all you forum-goers out there, sorry for this double post. :)
You can still solo effectively, healers are the only classes that are able to take down Champion and sometimes Hero-type mobs by themselves. While it takes only a bit longer, you'll never really have a fear of dying. Once you can get Rune of Burning, it's easy sailing as you kill much faster than lower levels.
You'll find that getting a group or someone to play with isn't going to be hard, just going to be random at times.

Hi I'm 99% sure I'm playing a zealot, but I've been more and more intrigued by the RP other then the fact their dwarf :p It appears that the RP is more of the buff/healer (which i prefer) then the Zealot who debuff/heals/damages. So my question is for any RP who have played a Zealot, was the RP more of the less damage orientated healer, id rather play a healer who cant do damage but makes up for it with better buffs/heals. And for those who have played both, what made you stay with the RP.
Any info would be great, enlighten me :)

My question is in regards to influence and topping charts.
How does over-healing mesh in with influence and contribution?
Does your target have to be taking damage in order for a heal to count towards this or will a HoT heal topping them off before they enter a fight count towards +healing on the chart?
You could also say does standing and healing yourself count towards +healing contribution?
Does stacking tons of willpower allow your HoT's to make direct heals obsolete due to the fact that this will be instant cast compared to a direct 3 second cast heal?
I am also curious as to what your build would be according to the new WarDB career builder and why you would choose that?
Thanks a bunch,

From what I've seen, when someone is at full you stop healing them. For example, if they are missing 153 hp and I throw a 400 hp heal out, it will only heal them for 153. You can't really over-heal, it won't really let you. Influence and Renown are totally different, though.
I haven't tested whether or not they have to be in combat, and there's really no way you can see. Influence is given when the PQ NPCs/objects (regular monsters, champions, heroes, or objects are collected) are either killed or collected. If you're in a group, it splits the influence gained equally. Influence charts do not show damage or healing done.
Standing there and spamming heals is useless, if someone doesn't need it you're not contributing.
You should be stacking Willpower anyways as it helps both HoTs and Direct Heals. Do HoTs ever make DHs obsolete? Absolutely not. Even at higher levels Rune of Regen ticks for about 400 everytime, Rune of Restoration can heal for 1k+ (without a crit) at one time. HoTs are never going to be able to counter burst damage whereas DHs can. You really have to use both to be effective.
Numbers are not accurate.
I'll be posting my builds on my guide pretty soon, and the reason I chose to go that way. Both contribution and renown specific to healing are in my Runepriest guide, I've always topped the charts in both.

Thanks a lot for the detailed and fast information Drav3n.
A few question from someone who is excited about playing a Runepriest but is not too thrilled about the mechanic or the lack there of. Does it get better, more intricate at later levels (my Runepriest is currently 18 ) or is the ability to grant a buff to a target with one ability on a 60 second timer all we get?
All we get are 3 Master Runes from 3 different Mastery trees? How is that a defining marker of a class? Which one do you prefer? Can you clarify what the Master Rune of Speed actually does?
Are you disappointed about the Runepriest?
One more question, perhaps the most important one for me: How useful is Rune of Nullification tactic in the Path of Grungni? Is it worth spending the points in that tree just to get that tactic?
Does the inability to remove hexes hurt the career? What do hexes include?
Thanks a lot for all your answers.

On the buffs, they do get better as you level, or at least there is one that increases toughness for an hour that is on a long cooldown that is absolutely amazing. If we die within the first 20 minutes or 10 minutes or placing it on ourselves we can RES ourselves. This career, for the most part, is for the people who like to be the stereotype healer with some damage on the side. I prefer the healing or action point one. The speed one works like this:
You place it on the ground and everyone in your group has their attack times reduced by .25 seconds. A three second cast becomes a 2.75 second cast. a 1.5 second cast, becomes a 1.25 second cast. Obviously this does not affect instant cast spells and abilities. I am personally not disappointed by the Runepriest at all and I had planned to play a Shaman for over 8 months of beta. I personally think there are better tactics than that but each person caters to a different playstyle. Most "hexes" can be outhealed by our hots and such. A hex includes things a Sorc can debuff us with or other debuffs/dots.

Thanks for an almost instant response.
I am not disappointed to a point of not playing the class at release. I was just hoping for more micromanagement out of the RP buff system or more synergy with the master runes. I would be happy with a more powerful Oath Rune ability or a lower cooldown (10-20 sec) if it consumed the buff. Even something as simple as - being inside a particular Master Rune grants buff to the Oath rune ability or refreshes its cooldown.
They just could have made it much more interactive.
As far as the hex/cleanse goes. Are all magic debuffs considered hexes? I am just in a mindset of old WoW, when cleanse and dispel magic were really useful.
Do Runepriests get any slows other than the Immolating Grasp (http://www.wardb.com/spell.aspx?id=1635) tactic?

Yes, there are only three Master Runes, one for each path. They are incredibly powerful buffs that require you to be in the middle of the action for them to be used properly.
Straight from my guide:
Master Rune of Fury recovers AP, Speed decreases buildup times (cast time), and Adamant has an AoE group heal every three seconds.I've played around with all three and they are all useful, it depends on your playstyle and how your group wants to play. With heavy burst damage and AoE groups (usually caster heavy) I tend to go Speed as it decreases cast times. If I want to focus heavily on healing I'll go Adamant. With melee-centric groups I prefer Master Rune of Fury. I find that Speed is the best all-around because it allows you to heal faster thus allowing you to cast more in a shorter period of time.
Am I disapointed with the Runepriest? Definitely not. I'm probably the most coveted part of any group I play with, if I die they will likely die. I enjoy healing and making my enemies frustrated and I do just that with the Runepriest. Not only do I keep my team alive but I can keep myself alive when I'm targeted. My buffs dramatically help my group members, and I don't feel as though I'm helpless. If you play a good healer of any kind, you're always going to have people wanting you to group with them.
Rune of Nullification depends heavily on your playstyle. I tend to play heavily as a healer, only dpsing if I have a lot of extra AP and time. Because it requires the RP to attack and actually crit, I don't see it as all that useful. Now, if I played a big dps role I would see it as a huge assett. I tend to tab through targets and just throw Rune of Immolation here and there, I can see it helping a little but nothing world shattering. Personally, I would not invest in the tactic because you only have 3 active career tactic slots. It's hard enough to give up Regenerative Shielding, Ancestral Inheritance, and Discipline but there are plenty of other tactics you receive just from leveling that are useful.
I'm not sure what's considered a hex and what's not, and frankly it's already a lot of work just keeping a warband up. Pretty sure not a lot of other classes have hex removal either, so it doesn't hurt us in any way. We do, however, have the ability to strip Enchantments (buffs) and cause damage while doing so.
EDIT:
I'm not aware of a walk command, but the staff is lifted off the ground whenever you walk. When sheathed, it's on your back.
There's a tactic for Rune of Sundering that snares.

Is there a bug in the latest build that won't allow you to heal or buff your secondary target? I did not run into this problem the first day of CE beta, but noticed this after playing my Rune Priest yesterday.
If I had both an enemy target, and a groupmate selected as secondary target, using a heal spell would trigger the message "Cannot use on that target" (or something like that). I had to manually deselect the enemy target and select the group mate as main to fix this error.
Have you all come across this lately?

Different master runes from different Rune Priest can be stacked. What can not happen is two different Rune Priest laying down the same Master Rune and having the effects stack. You could lay down the heal one and I could lay down the AP one and we would be fine. If we both lay down the healing one though only one of ours will actually kick in and take effect. I have not been on since the latest patch, as I said earlier I have been taking time off, but this is how it was.

In reading the descriptions of Rune of Cleaving and Rune of Skewering their effect is described as "Deals # damage to targets 65 feet in front of you."
Does that mean a "cone" effect or "line" effect that would include everything from you to a point 65ft away (in an arc or straight-path, respectively). Or is this a ranged bombardment, in that the enemies clustered in some small area effect are hit, at a distance of 65ft from you. One of the first possibilities seems more likely, but the description is a bit lacking in the tooltips.
This one is rhetorical, but does anyone understand why a spell called Blessing of Valaya would be in the Path of Grimnir. Shouldn't it be Blessing of Grimnir.

-_-u-_-It isn't exactly a cone or a straight line. It is a little bit further than your body and then it goes straight out.
Easy way to think of it:
It starts out about two feet on each side of your body, and then go out in a straight line for 65 feet.

Nope, if you don't see it on WarDB or my guide, it doesn't exist. There's a tactic later on that allows you to heal your defensive target if you strip your offensive target's enchantment; closest you're going to get.

Couple things I have been wondering while playing around with some career builds:
Efficient Runecarving if micromanaged properly seems as though it can be incredibly overpowered. To me it seems like I can roll rune of mending and rune of immolation on 2+ targets and simply have free DoT's ticking all over the place and insta cast rune of mendings. Rune of Mending is somewhat expensive in comparison to other abilities, is this possible or am I missing a key factor here?
Valaya's shield seems amazing to me from the heal alone. The AP restore also seems great but from the video's I've watched Ap seems to regen on its own at a high rate. How good is this AP regen?
Lastly, a bit of a general question but HoT's/DoT's tick every 3 seconds? And, if I am active enough in battle will I be able to use my rank 4 moral ability every 60 seconds or is that out of the question? Or is it better to use lesser moral abilities than just always use rank 4, I know you have to min max based on the situation but generally speaking?
Lots of questions but I didn't get beta!

It is possible but the only issue is which tactics do you give up currently to use that one. There are two almost must haves as a Rune Priest and then the other two open slots you are debating on which to pick.

When you are in a large scale RvR battle, AP can go by very fast, especially for the DPS careers who spam. The AP regen is alright but the fact that you are landing a heavy HoT on somebody PLUS AP regen makes it very valuable.

Yes, they tic every three seconds. Yes, you can build enough morale to use your rank 4 every 60 seconds but you need to not die in order for that to happen ^^. During PVE raids I tend to reach the rank 4 mark easily. It is all situational and that is what makes the morales so wonderful. There are times when your group needs more damage and you want to save AP so you fire off a rank 1 or 2 morale over and over. There are times when you know you can time a fight right that X player is going to die or your group will need a shield and you can save up and use these. Generally speaking in skirmish battles in RvR 24 on 24 or less, I tend to juse use ranks 1-2 most because rank 1 morale has a super insta cast heal.

It is possible but the only issue is which tactics do you give up currently to use that one. There are two almost must haves as a Rune Priest and then the other two open slots you are debating on which to pick.
What do you consider the two 'must haves'? Rengerative Shielding is the only must have I could pick up from a RvR and Raid stand point...I'm prob missing something from my warDB trolling.

Regenerative Shielding and Ancestral Inheritance
Then you have to take into account Discipline. Those are the three I have a really tough time giving up.

Aye, for me it was Discipline and Shielding. I personally keep on Inheritance as well though just because it makes my survivability that much higher. It really makes choosing that fourth tactic hard.

How do Rune Priests get their Moral in order to use the powerfull Moral abillitys.
Do they have to use their DPS spells to get it or can moral be obtained useing healing spells on the allies that are hurt?

From my experience, once you throw a dot on an enemy, healing will continue to build your morale.

You really don't even have to throw a DoT, I'll find my bar full just from getting hit and healing. But, using a DoT will fill it up faster. ;)

This is why I am thankful to have other RP around! As stated in the other thread I like Rune of Immolation and the Mastery Level 3 Tactic that makes it snare and steal AP and I tend to throw that out there to start fights, so it is rare for me in RvR that I start off healing as my first action.

How do you like to set up your hotkeys and mouse for healing with the RP?
As an old guy who has trouble dealing with too many keyboard hotkeys, I need to limit this somehow. But I quickly found I couldn't be using mouse clicks on the action bars to heal in PW playing as Greenskin/Shaman. You have to be a lot faster than that ;) I started making 1=HoT, 2=fast heal, 3=long heal ctrl-1 DoT, ctrl-2=fast nuke. That kind of thing. I use my mouse for turning and picking targets, and wasd for movement.
I was Greenskin/Shaman for PW, but will be playing Order at release and am most attracted to playing the RunePriest.
I'm just getting a feel for what other people do so maybe I can find new ideas that work for me.

Ewww, get away from clicking. Doesn't allow you to react as fast as you would with pure hotkeys. Just my perspective.
I keep my heals up on the earlier numbers and my damage later in the bar.
1 - Mending
2 - Grungni
3 - Regeneration
4 - Shielding
5 - Restoration
6 - Serenity
7 - Prot of Ancestors
8 - Striking
9 - Immolation
0 - Fire
Dunno, just my preference. :)

Use your mouse for movement, only leaving your strafing keys if you must.
I didn't feel too frustrated with key-binding; WAR has considerably less abilities to bind, and a lovable UI.
Make sure you use your shift/alt conjunctions for the keybinding process.

Thanks for the feedback. I got away with being a clicker for a long time in WoW. But I would like to take the next step.
I guess I will try to figure this out tonight with AoC, but in the meantime:
How exactly do you use the mouse for movement? Are you depressing the third/scroll wheel key to get the forward movement and then steering with the mouse? Are you having to bind something to a mouse button? Or do you have a fancy mouse. I'm just using a standard windows mouse.

If you left click and move your mouse, it moves your screen without facing your character. If you right click and move your mouse, it moves your screen while facing your character in whatever direction you move the mouse. Scrolling zooms in and out. I'm sure you're familiar with the WASD movements.
Yes, you can map Shift+numbers to a hotkey.

I use the mouse to do that already. I use the WASD keys to go forwards/backwards/slow turn. Am I reading this wrong? It sounded like lucrece is saying I can replace the WASD keys with the mouse and just focus on keybindings on the keyboard. That would be awesome since my main problem is trying to activate key bindings on the keyboard while simultaneously using WASD to move, TAB to target, and the mouse to turn /target defense.

You don't replace the keys; you just don't need them if you move properly with the mouse. Some depend on strafing, but it doesn't have much value in this game besides kiting, as auto-face prevents circle-strafing to interrupt spells, and collision detection also rules out going through your opponent.
Just mover with the mouse, and use the other keys for abilities. Movement basically should not be by keyboard.

I just don't understand how you get the forward movement of the W key from the mouse. I can stand still and turn my character, move my camera around, and so on with the mouse, but moving forward/back I use W and S. So while I'm doing that its hard to hit the gambit of bound number keys.
I just need the UI in front of me to play with it. I'm sure I'll understand if I spend the time. I'm just generally lazy about it because I've been playing one way for so long. And for my relaxing game time I tend to not want to learn to use the UI better. But this is WAR so I better get my act together :o

So far I haven't read any intentions by developers to reduce the shield to instant cast. It is supposed to be a 2 sec cast, but the tooltip is worded incorrectly.

But yeah it looks nice once you afford to dye it.
Myself I was hodge-podge till about level 12
The good thing about RP in pve is you can solo 6 equal level mobs at a time in equivalent level renown armor so you can get some decent blues and money for dye.
What I did was to get all my renown (equal to level) and just dot all mobs I could see, then regen rune, and rune of mending then rune of striking till they were dead. It was great and people were jealous hehe.

I think around level 20 is where you get the hoodie and large rune inscripted armor.

You'll love the mobility and freedom you're afforded with that method. I too, was a keyboard turner in WoW until I hit high end PvP, only to get slammed by friends for my setup.
After using this more effective setup, you'll see a noticeable boost in your response time.

You probably haven't seen the high tier RR gear. RP robes get very elaborate by then, and they're designed in a manner which favors the dying system, because they're robes, not some mix of cloth with other objects that make some dyed sections awkward.
And you'll love your staff. Zealots got so screwed with the generic skull and dagger; our staff is so much cooler (subjective observation, of course).

I'm thinking in a general term. If they originally had a 2sec cast on it but it's instant now and that is a bug, well then I don't know what to say. Guess I'm used to other shields being instant so I didn't see why they would put a cast on this one.

Not necessarily. It would just make it a preemptive ability. A lot of the play in Warhammer is preemptive and intuitive.
It would definitely be a more practical ability if it were instant, though.

Well, say hello to this new OP ability!
The fact that they changed it because people complained when they compared it to the other healers' equivalents, which were instant, kind of puts a hole to the argument that they don't balance on a career vs. career comparative basis.

Not really.
The shield doesn't absorb as much damage as you guys are thinking it does. When do you use the shield most? Before battle and when you're trying to save someone. It's probably one of our most used utility abilities, but on a cast time it doesn't do much good in the heat of battle--especially the cast time of 2s they had it on.
If you played any of the PW weekend and used the shield, you probably wished it was actually instant so you could use it to it's full potential during the heat of battle. Every other healer, including the Zealot, had their shield as an instant cast. At the time, Grungni also had a cast time with a pretty good setback.
When I first started to test the Runepriest it was very hard for us to do any kind of healing at lower ranks. At rank 8 or 10 was when Runepriest first felt like they could do some kind of support with heals; not a very good outlook as a healer with no mechanic to hold them back. Ranks prior to 8, we really only had Grungni's (with a cast time) and Shielding to work with. Now, you see a huge difference: Runepriest actually feel as though they are healing from the start.
