I am creating a website for a company I have started. Are there any Webmasters or other people with experience that can put their two cents in on how websites are made? Thanks in advance.

The Flames use Invision free.

www.invisionfree.com

Simple, easy, and cool.

I'm afraid the Silver Court's website isn't free, technically... I got it from 1&1, a website on the net, but its about £10 a year... which isn't really THAT expensive. I use a program called NetObjects Fusion 8, which is a helpful little thing which allows you to concentrate on making the website without having to get into html too much. While it has it's limits, for most things it is fine :).

Websites for free are difficult to find, invision is good for forums, though if you want something more than that, you are likely to be somewhat disappointed. Some internet providers actually set aside a web address for you, if you can find it and get ahold of it. As for html itself, I am afraid that I can't help you there!

Yeah, if you are actually looking for anything more, Invision kinda scuppers it. If you really wanted, mind, you could make an Invision Forum, then go 1&1 (We use that too for the main, official site) and buy a URL and some hosting space, find yourself a coder and make a neato little site, then integrate the forums into it. That works quite well.

www.freewebs.com
it isn't amazing but it's free so i use it a bit.
www.proboards.com is a forum creator thingy, quite useful but a bit fiddly to use.
