Chaos Starter Guide
---
Orange: Tome Unlocks
Corruption, Mutation, and Custard. Those are your calling cards if you've chosen to be a member of Chaos. Chaos' people of the north are at the forefront of the invasion of the lands of Order, and they represent a dark mirror to the morality and principles of the Empire.

Some side effects of Chaos Portal travel include: nausea, dizziness, and tentacle mutation.
You'll start off in the wild land of Norsca, in the area of Sturmvall. You can get an immediate unlock by turning around and walking towards the Chaos Portal behind you. Nice to know your origins, right?
Turn around and walk towards Skurlorg Blackhorn (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=198), the very first of many NPCs you'll encounter in the area.
http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=479&pictureid=2938
So...which of you flamers asked for a "blue" response?
You'll trigger meeting a Servant of Chaos, and Skurlorg will give you your first quest, Dark Fate (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40000). Your task is to go northeast to the cemetery and start slaying Restless Dead (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=199) for their bones. Get to the Cemetery Gate and open it by interacting with it. You'll find plenty of Restless Dead to kill, so kill four of them, unlocking the Zombie trigger as you go, and then report to Kaltira the Daemoncaller (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=290), who is just ahead of you on the path to the crypt. She'll complete Dark Fate for you, and give you a new quest, To Conquer (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40017), which directs you to kill five . Accept this quest, but then, go back the way you came through the Cemetery Gate, and find the quest marker for Seer Thaena (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=200), who will give you a quest called The Heart of Battle (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40135). Seems like there's an Ancestral Chronicle (http://www.wardb.com/item.aspx?id=14002262) in the cemetery she wants.
Time to proceed to the cemetery proper. Go back through the gate, past Kaltira, and into the cemetery. Just past the entrance, hang a hard right and you should see the Ancestral Chronicle flashing at you at one of the mausoleums. If it isn't here, check the others of its kind around the cemetery.
Kill some Awakened Spirits. You'll need five, and if you can't find them outside, go into the crypt ahead of you and go down inside to finish off your quest. You'll unlock Wraith while doing this. Go back to Kaltira, and she'll complete your quest and give you Daemonic Strength (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40001), tasking you with firing parts out of a Hellcannon. The Hellcannons are located northeast of Kaltira's position, out another Cemetery Gate, and to the right over to a hill overlooking Thorshafn. Go to the middle one on the hill, because next to it is a pile of Ammunition that will teach you about Hellcannons in all their glory. Afterwards, interact with a Hellcannon to finish your quest. You can choose to keep going northeast and kill a Tuskgor (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=2821) for the Tuskgor unlock.
http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=479&pictureid=2945
Let's see a stuntperson get shot out of THIS cannon.
We're not quite done with the cemetery yet. Go back to where you fought Awakened Spirits and enter the crypt. Follow the natural path until you get to a quest marker, the Skaven Vorque (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=2058). Not only will you get a Skaven unlock for talking to him, he has an extremely easy quest, Wicked Things (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40008), for you to do. Looks like Vorque lost his sackbag and wants you to get it. There are a ton of sackbag spawns in the crypt, but the easiest one to get is on the stairway landing right above you! Grab the sackbag and give it back to Vorque for some experience.
Head out of the crypt and back to Seer Thaena, who'll take your Ancestral Chronicle and give you an Ancestral Bane to use in the village of Thorshafn. You've probably gained a rank or two, so find Career Trainer , marked with a target symbol on your minimap and west of your current position (there's another tot he southeast, but that's in the next part of the area). You'll unlock The Raven God as you run towards him. Get some Core Training done and head back to Skurlorg.
Skurlorg will give you a new quest, The Will of Change, and he'll want you to kill some and Unruly Gors and Unruly Ungors, after which you can corrupt their herdstone to bend their will to yours. Follow the path southwest out of the camp, and you'll bump right into the monsters you have to kill. You'll fight the Ungors first, followed by the Gors, unlocking both the Ungor and Gor tome entries in the process. Eventually if you follow the path, you'll see the Herdstone to your right. Interact with it, and a squad of Ungors and Gors friendly to you will spawn. Follow them to the camp outside of Thorshafn.

I love the smell of Chaos in the morning...
This is a huge quest hub and it should definitely satisfy your mob-killing hunger. First off, after unlocking The Raven Host for entering, head to Dyre the Heartrender (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=13). She'll complete your Ungor and Gor quest, then give you another one, Blood (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40003), telling you to go to the village and kill five Empire Spearman (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=106). But she isn't done yet - talk to her again and she'll assign you Destruction (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40004), to burn down two buildings in town, and Pillaging (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40005), to go steal some Brimming Barrels and Secured Chests. What a taskmaster!
Head towards the village and check in with the chapter's Rally Master, . You'll get an unlock. Rally Masters give out rewards for gathering enough influence through doing Public Quests in the area. At the end of this article, we'll go over one of these quests in brief.
http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=479&pictureid=2950
That's right...I spend all day standing here looking awesome. What about YOU?
Two more quest NPCs need your attention, and they're both at the bridge leading to Thorshafn. Go to first, and get, appropriately enough, a quest called The Soulreaper (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40007). Looks like Madgr has a use for Tower Guards that can be found in town, and wants you to drain the souls of a few of them. Then find Lodkr the Fallen (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=204), who has two more quests for you. One, Sinister Allies (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40137), sends you to the other side of the village to rendezvous with a Dark Elf allied with the forces in the area. The other, Merciful Strength, tasks you with the unsavory quest to kill a Marauder who has gone soft in the village and take his weapon.
With all these quests in hand, it's time to head into the village and do some good old fashioned pillaging. Enter Thorshafn from the north by going across the bridge to the southeast. Just ahead, you'll see village housing, with kindling conveniently placed (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/picture.php?pictureid=2953) to set the buildings on fire. You'll also see that there are plenty of Empire Spearmen for you to kill in this area. Barrel and Chest spawns for Pillaging are spread out all over the city. You can choose to wait for one spawn to appear or move around trying to find them. The water mill just southeast of the bridge into the village has a spawn of both barrels and chests.
The Weak Marauder (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=105) for Merciful Strength is located in a couple of places - in the town square south east of the buildings to be burned, or between two houses south of the square. Either way, they're an easy kill. And are found near - where else - the Bright Wizard tower that sits at the eastern edge of the city. To finish your sweep, go to the town square, then follow the path northeast out of the city. Find the dark elf Cerivith Thrallmonger (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/album.php?albumid=479&pictureid=2959) to complete Sinister Allies, landing you the Dark Elf unlock. Using your minimap, find the red circle for the quest to use the Ancestral Bane - it'll be a cemetery on the outskirts of town. Open your inventory, select the gold Quest icon tab (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=479&pictureid=2958), and right click the Ancestral Bane (http://www.wardb.com/item.aspx?id=17809) to use it. You'll spawn some Thorshafn Ancestors to kill to finish up the quest you got at the beginning of the game from Seer Thaena, and get the Spirit Host tome unlock.
http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=479&pictureid=2960
Not the wake-up call you expected...
During this little trip into the village, you'll probably earn unlocks for Killing 25 Empire, Looting 10 Items (title: The Cutpurse), and Causing 25 Critical Hits. You might even Get 10 Tome Unlocks (title: The Wise). Whew! Time to head back northwest across the bridge to the camp.
Get back to Madgr first. Complete all the quests you can, and get a new one from him, Promise of Power (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40010). This sends you to the Public Quest location on the south part of town to get a Bulbous Orb of Change (http://www.wardb.com/item.aspx?id=15993644) from a mutated livestock. Sounds fun. He'll also give you , directing you to kill an Empire Courier (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=107) determined to get reinforcements for the village. Next, hit up Gautr the Spoken (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=286), who will take Lodgr the Fallen's Merciful Strength quest for you. Head back towards Dyre, but hang a quick right to Vaulkor (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=11), who wants to reward you for killing all those Empire in the village. Go back to Dyre after this, turn in all your quests, and get another from her, The True Test (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40006), which sends you to the Bright Wizard Tower to kill one of the Empire captains, Captain von Wilke (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=285).
Head back into Thorshafn now, and follow the road going south through to the square. You can find the Empire Courier in two places - one off the road south leaning up against a broken wagon, and another running down the road from the east. Either one will give you credit. After this, head southwest to the Public Quest location, and look for a cow that's already tipped (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/album.php?albumid=479&pictureid=2973) (awww) and search it for the Bulbous Orb of Change. Go back north to the Chaos Camp and talk to Madgr to turn in quests, and to get the last quest for this part of the area, Show of Power (http://www.wardb.com/quest.aspx?id=40011), which sends you to the Bright Wizard tower to kill - obviously - a Bright Wizard Acolyte (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=2822). It's time to bring the tower to its knees.

For Sale: 2 BR, 1 BA Bright Wizard Tower. Property is a HOT commodity, buy now!
Head south into the village, then east along the road until you see the tower. Captain von Wilke spawns in front of it, walking a path around the tower proper. You can find and kill him there. As for the Bright Wizard Acolytes, they are within the tower and up the stairs, and killing one of the fiery disciples will land you your final quest completion of the area.
Drop back to the Chaos camp and turn in your quests. You now can look to the path to the west and south, as the next part of Norsca awaits. You're on the path to being part of the Raven Host and contributing to its ravaging success!
Let's take a quick look at the area's first Public Quest and Scenario before we send you on your way.
Ruinous Powers has three stages:
Stage 1 has you killing the Empire soldiers harassing the Chaos summoning ritual.
Stage 2 has you harnessing the souls of the soldiers you just killed, defiling them for the benefit of the Raven Host Sorcerers.
Stage 3 sees the summoning successful, but careen out of control! Kill the daemon, or be slain yourselves.
The area's scenario is Nordenwatch, where you can potentially get unlocks for Dwarf and High Elf by killing them in combat.
The objective of the scenario is to control the three points on the map. Control of any of the points as well as killing other players earns you Victory Points towards winning the scenario.
The three points are in the south, north, and west of the map, and your initial run will take you towards the Barracks point.
While it is natural to take the point closest to you first, and then rush the center Fortress point, to create a shift in strategy, capture Barracks, and then go south on the map to capture the Lighthouse point right under Order's noses. If you split your groups you can create a deadly pincer attack in the center.
