Ok, so we have seen the pic of the dwarf with the front spike as his hair style. I'm guessing a braid style hair for another. What do you think will be the hair styles?

i hope for a higher person you can get ponytails with pink bows and ribbons with glitter...............Only in the perfect world. lol j/p, I like so far the videos ive seen of them

"i just hope that the customization is as good as they say its gonna be im sure it will but thats why i dont have a mmorpg now because none of them ive found bring it to a good enough customized level"

Well, one thing that I am guessing is that at character creation we won't be able to make the beards A) too long or B) grayish or white.

Because characters will look tougher as they get stronger, it'd be foolish to let us start off looking like longbeards.

Yea I imagine we will just choose a beard style. Like braids, untamed, single knot, double knot, and a variety of other styles that dont reall have names :p And then they will grow differently as we level.

Hairstyle I imgaine will be, long, untamed, semi-short, pony tailed, braided... and other such styles.

Mohawks/spikes only being allowed for slayers.

I could make an amusing "Ooer" or "Innuendo" joke there involving the word "helmets."
But I wont, for I am above that.

I imagine ironbreakers will always have their... helmets.. on, but hammerers, engineers and runepriests will have their hair loose most likely. Unless the engineer likes googles/leather caps and the hammerer has some kind of chain helm.

If they give runepriests stupid pointy WoW hats - I will cry.

What about Slayers?

Most slayers shave their beards/crop their chins (not all of them do though) as well as their head when taking the slayers oath.
It grows back though :D

But at character creation, I hope there is no option to NOT have a beard.
The only dwarf who shouldnt not have a beard are the female ones and the freshly shaven slayers.

Good point.
But nontheless, I just can't imagine what a Dwarf's chin looks like...

in every MMO it has looked like crap.

I like dwarves to have a mustache along with their beard. ones without mustaches give me the creeps.

Aye, it gives it that errie Disney quality *shudders*

I'd like a nice selection of hair styles, and then some sort of barber system for when you hit slayerdom. You really need the oppertunity, as a slayer, to show how much of an outcast you are. You need to shave/crop your hair into some sort of shocking style, be it a mohawk, or short and spikey, or locks, or bald. I think there needs to be some creativity with Slayer-dos to this end.

Also, with slayer beards, you need to have some creativity. You want to make it short, possibly, or uneven, or in the case of my own slayer, have the chin/throat shaved down the middle to make two beards.

I know it's asking a lot to have so much free range creativity, but I'd at least like a nice variety of slayer styles. I think as many slayer-only hair and beard styles as for normal dwarven styles. Afterall, for every conventional dwarven style, there's a radical deviate slayer style.

I am so glad this game is making dwarf helmets that do not cover up beards. I never understood why in other games dwarves would stuff it up in their helmets, that doesn't seem like a dwarven thing to do at all.

I'd imagine as another poster said, that we will start with fairly short beards, with no gray/white option(atleast I hope) and hair I would guess untamed, spikes, mohawks, bald, balding, braided(most likely, and prob my choice)

For females, I would guess different braided styles, with those metal lion rings like males beards....I think for aging for female dwarves, they should get more and more elaborate braided styles.

That bugged me so much in WoW. Such an oversight, and so demeaning for a Dwarf. Of course, I just turned off the helms in favor of the beard (they were very shoddy anyway).

Mythic seems to have has their head screwed on straight here. Finally, we’ll get gear of proper Dwarf craftsmanship.

The only reason any dwarf would cover up his beard is if it has been cut off in combat (I'd rather loose a finger) or he was ashamed or something so

Long live the beards i say!

Yeah "SlayerLocks," that would be interesting. For a regular Dwarf, I like the half braided beard style.

Yes, but I made that comment before the pictures came out :p
I am quite pleased with the hammerer helmets, and I am very glad the runepriests have no stupid hats!!! :D

Most Dwarf men in screenshots have the same model as well. That's just a product of Mythic testing out weapons/armor/classes at this early stage. That said, it does look like braided hair will be the "beards" of Dwarf females. It'll grow as she levels.

Do you know if its possible for game mechanics to emulate curly hair? I'd like my dwarf lass to have a huge head of red tresses, but looking back at World of WarCraft, all the big hairstyles for the dwarfen females were straight. The only curly hair I saw in that game was with the humans (and later the blood elves), but didn't look as romantic as I'd like it. Of course, World of WarCraft's graphics were purposely crafted to run on systems of lower standards, so please tell me if my limited scope is resulting in an ignorant concern. Can game mechanics properly create curly hair or is that something a little beyond the current mold of graphics for the genre?

You know, I have yet to see really good curly hair in one of these things. There's a couple of styles in Guild Wars that might work for what I think you're thinking of, but good looking curly hair might still be beyond games right now.

I wish we could see more than one male and one female head, but I'm sure they'll have plenty of different styles. A Dwarf with his hair and beard in dreadlocks would be the most amazing thing ever.

Okri

Dreadlocks? No, that would be more of a Chaos or Dark Elf thing, wouldn't it? Dwarfs with dreadlocks just look wrong to me. But many different kind of braidings and such, lots of little golden rings in the beard as well, and I'll be satisfied.

What kind of a dwarf is that? He hardly has a beard, the little he has is in filthy lumps and he has a bloody feather in his hear. A feather!
And it still looks crap to me.

What kind? The not-white kind? As for calling dreadlocks filthy lumps... making fun of hairstyles is always fine in my book but be sure to look around and make sure there aren't any rastafari around.

If you want to play a dwarf with no beard, play a female dwarf :P All male dwarfs must have a BIG LONG BEARD and be damn proud of it.

Black Hammer

Yeah, a big long, dreadlocked beard.

Slayers in the TT look kind of odd:

...but in this picture their hair looks amazingly badass:

http://us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/dwarfs/extras/art/images/popup.htm?1b.jpg

So Mythic needs to do a little better than this:

This is a little better:

I like those beards, they must be pretty epic with beards like that.

If slayers ever do become playable I'd imagine their beards and mohawk get bigger as you get higher in tier/rank.

Just look at some of the GW slayer miniatures. There are simple trollslayers with small beards, and then you look at the hair on the dragon/demon slayers... wowsa

As long as i can choose bald with a long beard, i'm game. Any idea if there will be a preview option what the beards will end up like once the dwarf gets more experienced?
