The Ironbreaker relies on the grudge mechanic in order to maximize potential as well as activate a significant number of abilities. However from everything I've read the only way to gain grudge is to be struck in combat, have your oath friend struck in combat, or to slot a tactic which enables grudge gain from attacking the opponent.
If those are the only ways to gain grudge then does that mean that evading/reducing damage (a primary role/responsibility of a tank) runs against the class's mechanic? I'm aware of Dwarven Riposte, but that is still paying a tactic slot to bring a sort of moderate functionality to evasion grudge building.
It seems one of the major critiques of the class is that the Stone path doesn't build enough grudge, and expends it so fast. Between Oathbound and Oathstone (both of which significantly boost evasion and consume large amounts of grudge) is the problem the lost grudge from evading hits?
If Ironbreakers have to be hit to function optimally, and it is optimal to not be hit by your opponent at all then I can't help but think there's a problem here. Have they ever tried grudge building on evasions, or even discussed or considered it? Or is this not a problem at all? Any insight?
