Salvaging? Or only Magical Salvaging?

Just curious about this. In the video they linked Talisman crafting with Magical Salvaging.
But we know Salvaging can also get items for both other professions.
So could someone be a successful Talisman crafter and go with Salvaging instead of Magical Salvaging?
Just the way the system is now, you have four gathering and two crafting. It's imbalanced and confusing.

I think the main ingredient is from magical salvaging, but maybe they're the stabilizers...

Either way, having just one gathering won't get you all you need.

If you intend to be a hardcore TM then you probably want to take MS because you have to sac items, meaning that those mats will probably be more expensive to buy. Other then that, the trinkets that come from Scavenging are semi rare so they would also be fairly costly. I assume the same goes for butchering, having not tried it out this is only a guess, but you could find magical/special horns, bones, eyes etc. that could act as the focus for the magical item.

I think its safe to say as long as you don't take cultivating you will make be earning something for TM through your gathering skill but will still need to trade to get supplies from the other two.

I will say that I got quit a few blue items with scavenging dureing the first PW.
