And there you have it, I've been following the develepment of Warhammer Online since it's original conception many years ago. When I was young there was a two page artictle in white dwarf that was showcasing development on an MMO for warhammer. At the time I had very little idea what an MMO was but the article got me very excited and I decided I was going to play that game no matter what. I play any computer or consol game related to Warhammer and so I had decided this would be the MMO for me. I joined in my first forums on the WO main site and did my very first bit of roleplaying, eventually ending up in a Chaos guild. The development process was going slow, but I am patient by nature and I hugely enjoyed the community and new found roleplaying aspect of my life so I wasn't worried. Then one day, (about three or four years later) I tried to log into the forums and everything was locked. I went to the main site and all that remained was a notice of termination and boom, that was it. No forewarning, no notice no nothing, everything was running normally and then instanly went dead.

I've never played an MMO, mainly because none of the worlds have interested me besides the warhammer universe, so when I heard somebody, anybody, had started to make WO again I was overjoyed. A one legged monkey with teretz could produce WO and I'd play it. Thankfully it looks like the team that has the license knows what they're doing and is working hard to bring the best game possible to the masses, which is an awesome bonus for me. I fully intend to buy and play this game as soon as possible, and I'm going to try my hardest to get on the beta as early as possible. I look forward to activley participating in this community and I hope to see you all there when the sharp and pointies are drawn and the game gets released.

Well Ultima Online was the very first MMORPG Played. I loved that rush that i felt when i was in PvP.
I have played allot of online game more than I care to list.
On October 2001 I once again felt the rush in my blood with the release of Daoc.
To date Daoc is the only game I look back to the beginning when i first starting playing and smile. Mythic has learned allot from Daoc and I have a feeling it will show on the release of WAR.

Something That Annoys You: Shadow of the Horned Rat: With eager hands I unwrapped my first Warhammer computer game and impatiently installed it on my brand new (at the time) Dx2/100. Favorite GW Game (s): The only GW game I have played was a licensed map game called Battle Masters. I did not know it was GW until WAR started and I said, "That sounds familar." One of my good friends was a huge TT fan.

Favorite MMOG (s): DAoC hands down. I have played many more, but with all of its faults, DAoC's RvR just gives it that extra something to make it worthwhile.

Favorite Computer Game (s): Going by time played it would be DAoC. However, I love Rome: Total War expecialy with Rome: Total Realism mod. I also really enjoy some old school strategy. I love Sid Meir's Colonization and Starcraft are two titles I plunked endless hours into.

I came into WarHammer about oh...four years ago. I was starting to get into collectible figures (my first and still favorite being Mage Knight), when I noticed the popularity of WarHammer. I thought to myself 'Well, lets see what the big deal was.' But before I could try it out, one thing stopped me...the price. WarHammer was an EXTREMELY expensive miniature's game. However the whole story about it fascinated me, so I just kept my self modestly knowledgeable about the world. Players can definitely see that I've never played, but I do know some things. And as of late last month, I will immerse myself further into WarHammer, by means of WarHammer online.

Gosh, there goes my totally unoriginal entry. I guess I'll just flesh it out a bit more. (Pardon any typos, I'm on a new keyboard and still trying to break it in and get the keys right.) I love my smileys (<_< ^_^) and I love my foxies. Foxes (as you might have been able to tell from my username) are my favorite animals. Green is my favorite colour. I love writing, reading, and history. Particularly, I'm interested in how myths get translated over to fiction.

I am at the moment in the beginnings of a law degree, getting some grounding in Creative Writing and History (particularly World Histories) at the same time. I write a bit and am a bit of a starving artist (implying that I am not too successful right now.) Like probably 99.999% of members here, I want to be in the beta test (not too early. But I'll preorder the game and get in there.) because that's the best way to help people play and get to learn the game, if I'm already adept at it.

I, as I mentioned before, am on Galadoria 90% of the time, (I hope this doesn't sound too much like a plant) and I'm almost always okay to chat on msn or AIM. Especially about roleplaying, writing, or my precious wood elves.

Oh, and I'll play as a High Elf most likely. Not sure if I'm going Sword, Bow or Magic yet. I'm guessing... Swordman of Hoeth/White Lion, Spearman, Archer, and Mage. But that's just my guess. I'm really a Woodies player.

And now that new show starring Angel actor guy is on (Bones), so I might go watch that. Apart from that movie, I like House (who doesn't?), Criminal Minds, Scrubs, Battlestar Galactica, Smallville, How I Met Your Mother, Boston Legal (by far the best), and a few others. Be warned though, I'm in Australia, so don't spoil any storylines for me.

just wanted to say hi to you guy, i am really looking forward to this game, i have been playing Warhammer for 15 odd years, and have always been a huge mmo fan, i followed warhammer online for a long time and was gutted it got cancelled

i know the history of warhammer very well and have collected pretty much every army thats been released.

i loved DaoC and played it for over a year, WoW was good, but didn't really hold my attention for too long, my favorite mmo was asherons call , the original one (2 sucked) it was my first real mmo game i got into and loved the changing story line.

well thats a little about me, hope to get to know you guys more and eventually see you all in game :)

I've avoided creating an account here because I promised myself that I would not get overly excited about a game that was nowhere near release but I just had to reply to several threads today and succumbed to ridiculous pre-release excitement.... so here I am :-(

The reason I'm so passionate about the Warhammer World is because I played Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, then Battle and then Blood Bowl as a child, when they were first released. I spent too many hours of my childhood painting figurines for WFB and BB and becoming lost in the collective imagination of my friends every lunch break in school playing WFRP.

Mostly though I just remember sweeping the floor of the seemingly vast Blackpool Pleasure Beach Fun House for the child-labour amount of twenty pence an hour, at such a young age (probably around 12 years old) that I had little concept of money, so that I could, over many months, afford to buy myself a Warhammer rulebook. Games Workshop owe me.... big time. ;)
