First of all I would like to say Hello to the fourms. As far as why I am interested in War, well that is simple. A few years back a friend of mine had given me a novel (Trollslayer) and within just a few pages of starting to read it I was hooked with the world. Shortly after finishing the book we started to play the first edition of the RPG which was fantastic although short lived due to people moving family requirements and such. Well when news of the first attempt at the game came out I was excited and equally bummed when it was cancelled. So when WAR news began to surface I was once again excited at the ability to now see the Warhammer world brought to life and the ability to play in it once again with those same friend who sat around that table so many years ago and played the first edition of the PnP version.

Brief Description of past gaming: Having started playing in Ultima Online Atlantic server for a year i then moved to Europa Server for a year and a half, where i indulged in mostly PvP and Factioning. I then moved with friends to Dark Age of Camelot when it first came out, where I played on the Prydwen server for a year on albion and midguard before moving to Excalibur server in Hibernia for 2 years. I then quit Daoc to move to WoW, where i played from the Beta, having started on Stormscale server initially once game retailed and played here for a year. I then moved to Ahn Qiraj server with some other friends and played there for 6 months and then quit and played Guild Wars for 6 months before returning to WoW and then quit MMO's all together. I didn't think i would ever be wanting to play another MMO again, but after reading up on Warhammer online ive become very interested and hope to enjoy the MMO genre once again :)

I really hope WAR will be good game. I'm really tired of WoW. PvP is bad and I have little time to spare for PVE raiding. No let me rephrase that: I don't wanna waste time on PVE raiding. PVP gear is more rewarding and I'm glad I got most of the good stuff. Problem is I'm casual player - college, friends, music and all those RL things - and I can't afford to spend 20+ hours per week raiding only to get 1 good item every 2 weeks. I'm a team player - don't get me wrong - but more of a PVP team player. I hope I'll find some good, normal people on this forum and that we'll share good times in WAR in the near future.

Seeing as I've not been here a couple of days and posted, I thought I'd do the polite thing and introduce myself.

Favorite GW Game (s): n/a. This will be my first encounter with GW settings. I've never played Warhammer in any form, nor read much about it. I'm here because Mythic is the developer and because I hope the game will bring back some of the fun I had in DAoC before the ToA expansion, and buffbots started to rule all. So that's why I'm here - that and because I loooong for a new MMO to spend time on after I gave up WoW, and Pirates of the Burning Sea didn't provide me with the things I had hoped.

Although I've played and beta tested a number of MMOs, the favorite one is still DAoC which I played for about 3 years from launch/open beta.
Outside this I've played WoW for a couple of years, but stopped some time after TBC expansion. I've also played EVE for about ½ year of live and some months of closed beta. I've recently beta tested Pirates of the Burning Sea for 6-7 months of closed testing. Lately I gave Tabula Rasa a try with 2 months of live and some time in pre-order beta.
Further more I've tried/tested out SWG, AO, Wish and SoR.

Favorite Computer Game (s): Would likely be Baldur's Gate II. I'm generally a RPG and Strategy gamer. Other favorite game(series) are Wing Commander, Civilization and Fallout.

So I started MMO's with EQ2 after playing Consoles and FPS' since I was about 12 years old. I played EQ2 for about 3-4 months before trying Wow with some RL friends and since then have beenm playing wow off and on ( almost since launch ). I'm really looking forward to Warhammer as the PVP aspect of WoW is lacking terribly in my opinion. I've heard so many great things about DaoC's PVP system and I am absolutely thrilled to see that Mythic is coming out with a new game that ties DoAC and some of the things I loved about Wow together as I am a PVP'er at heart.

I have played both WHFB, PnP and Larp's for well over 10 years and originally got into the MMORPG concept as a natural step after getting bored with DiabloII when a RL friend introduced me to DaoC. As several of my close family and friends play these kind of games it seemed logical to follow the crowd over to WoW. I have sinse then played WoW but have for way over a year looked to the horizon for another game in the genre and WAR seems to me as the obvious choice because I greatly enjoyed the RvR of DaoC and have been a Warhammer fan since my early teens. Besides my 3 favorite races of the warhammer world are represented here. (Tzeentch, Dark Elves and Empire)

I also wanted to add a little background about my MMO career... I got into UO during when it first began... I want to say 1998. I played that on and off for about 4 years, inbetween trying out everquest which didn't quite stick. I filled the gaps with random terrible MMO's, that were so bad I didn't even bother to remember their names. I then moved on to shadowbane, which I played on and off until about 2 months ago. I also played WoW for 3 years, EQ2 for a few months, Star Wars Galaxies, Final Fantasy XI, DAoC and pretty much every MMO out there, which makes my choice for "favorite MMO" being shadowbane pretty laughable. Praying to get into WAR Beta...and... that's about it! haha

Hello to all of you good people!

My first MMO was Guild Wars, which I stopped playing after I was done with all the missions, I didn't like the game because of the limited movement, or should I say limited
exploration in game. I missed the freedom of movement and excitement and so I turned, as many of us, to World of Warcraft. And after I spent three years, which I don't regret, playing World of Warcraft I got sick and tired of it.

I had a good, still do, relationship with many people on the server I played on. So one night I was talking to a mate of mine, about gaming in general, so he asked me what I was up to after I quited WoW, and so he recommended WAR. And that is how I started reading about it, anticipating Newsletters, reading about lore and everything what comes when someone is very excited about a game!

I thought I should introduce myself since I've decided to finally post since looking over the site since last year. I go by Soul for now and have been playing MMO's since Gemstone 3 on AOL. I moved onto UO the first day it came out. Got into the Quake series. Played with Thresh and Immortal and did pretty well in the tournaments I played at. Got a job at LucasArts as a Quality Assurance tester (game tester in reality), because a lot of people there loved quake 2 and I knew a guy from there online. Beta'd EQ for a bit because a guy in my quake group knew Brad Mcquaid (or how ever you spell his name) and then later left for greener pastures right as LucasArts Star Wars MMO was coming into test. Recently over the last few years have played, Guild Wars, Matrix Online, WoW, CoH and CoV, DAoC for a tad and am now eagerly awaiting to play Warhammer Online (Oh yeah and I use to play Warhammer on the table in highschool and its board game). I like probably alot of you here hope to be able to test Warhammer in hopes of making it the best PvP/RvR game to date. So you'll see me over the next months posting my thoughts that have accumulated over the last year of hearing about Warhammer online. I encourage debate and idea's since it could be looked at by Mythic and influence theirs/ours/and future players experience.....

Hello all! I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am new to the Warhammer world and have to say that I am extremely impressed by what I have seen of this community. A friend of mine recently gave me "Blackhearts, The Omnibus" as a gift. I couldn't set it down.

Being a long time (about 15 years) RPG & MMO player I decided to look into WAR! Needless to say I have ordered the CE and look forward to adventuring in a new game with the deep and exciting lore base. The Warrior Priest career looks promising so I am going to try that one first. Though I am sure that I will explore what each race/career has to offer over time.

I'm your average young-ish student from denmark with a weird sense of humor, a few good friends and an unhealthy fascination with computer games, Rp'ing, fantasy etc. Basically your average geek :)

Was a fan of the previous Warhammer Online (had more promise than this one tbh), so when it got canned I went looking for the next best substitute. Took part in some long chats with Mark jacobs on the forums I used to visit. Spent most of the time between those wasting away my life in WoW.
