You've fallen into the trap of calling the Runepriest/Zealot a healbot, and linking guides that say Archmages/Shaman need to DPS in order to heal well. I would like to suggest that these labels be changed.

I would suggest reading this thread: http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66585

Starting especially on pages 2 and 3 there are a lot of arguments proving these theories in correct, and one post concerning dev intentions. The sum of these points:

1. Archmage/Shaman baseline heal numbers are identical to Runepriest/Zealot baseline heal numbers. Note that this is while IGNORING their class mechanic. This disproves any assumption that they need to use their mechanic to heal well.

2. Archmage/Shaman heals are all in one mastery path, while Runepriest/Zealot heals are split up. Combined with #1, this mean that in sheer heal-botting potential, the Archmage/Shaman actually pulls ahead.

3. Knowing the Dev's intention, this actually makes sense. Archmages/Shaman are intended to be the "main tank healers," while Warrior Priests/Disciples are "group healers." Runepriests/Zealots are "flexible healers" in that their style of healing is determined by their spec, not their class (a lot of people shorten "flexible" to "flex," perhaps because it makes them sound more powerful in their role than they really are.) Runepriests/Zealots are also "rescue healers," being the healers that can use a lot of instant (many with cooldowns) spells to save someone getting creamed. Nowhere does it say, however, that Runepriests/Zealots are "main healers." From the descriptions, Archmages/Shaman are closer to this.

4. Note that Runepriest/Zealot trees split damage and healing. This alone should hint that they're hybrids by intention. Also note that baseline numbers for damage on Runepriest/Zealot basic damage spells are identical to the Shaman equivilents.

5. Also note that with the exceptions of some of the lower rituals, all of the spells Zealots gain from career mastery are offensive/damage spells.

That was longer than I intended, but I like being thorough. This thread is a good idea, but only if it accurately displays what the classes do, not what incorrect labels the community has given them. Seeing "heal bot" next to Runepriest/Zealot is going to give people the wrong idea about the classes.

Thank you for the response. I have edited the index, and please tell me if you feel it now more accurately reflects healer career comparison.

Also, would you please tell me if the rest of the questionable reviews for the Archmage/Shaman are good enough to justify keeping them linked for their remaining info.

Looks fine to me. Perhaps someone with more experience in the Beta can tell you if the "squishiness" looks okay between the flex and nuker healers.

Are we also including reviews/guides listed here in this forum? I didn't see it listed, but I have to recommend Dastion's Archmage guide, here:

http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56014

It looks quite well done, and I have to say I'm impressed with it.

P.S. I just re-read my previous post, and it occurred to me that it may have come off as offensive or aggressive. I apologize if this was the case, I just tend to get a little zealous on this subject. ;)

Yes, I'm definitely including this community's guides/reviews in the index, I just haven't gotten to them all yet to determine which ones are succinct and comparative enough to post.

Edit: I've also not read all the reviews I've linked thoroughly, and have instead relied on my wife's summary of many. Eventually I hope to get to them all.

I don't mean to sound negative but the war wiki guides you have listed have been out for months and contain a lot of out of date and inaccurate info. Also, I would hardly call them "reviews" since they were written WAY before the NDA was lifted and talk in complete generalities, because nothing else was known at the time.

I think people are more interested in getting actual reviews from beta testers, where they talk about specific class abilities and mastery tree, class weaknesses and strengths, bugs, effective ways to play the class, etc.

Most of the reviews in this forum subsection include all of that and more which is great because it really gives a feel for the non-beta players out there for how the class handles, and will help them pick their first class at launch. Unfortunately the war wiki "guides" give do no such thing.

Yes, I'm aware that wiki entries are outdated in a few cases, and not true reviews, but they were included because they were the most concise, organized, and thorough single-source career descriptions I have found. Many other sources contain good info but are so overly wordy with sporadic useful data that they are laborious to read. However, you are correct, and I will update their links to be called "wiki" instead of "reviews".

Also, I am working to include the career guides found in this forum indexed as the first reviews for each career, but I want to find the most concise examples of each.

Edit: Heh, I foolishly assumed there were several pages of career guides, instead of just the one. I guess there won't be any need to sort through them all.

Does anyone else know of any other forums with quality career guides?

I don't think you'll find much right now, since it's still in closed beta. I expect forums and fansites will explode with guides once the game is released.

Under Dwarf, Ironbreaker, you stated skills scale with Rage, they scale with Grudge ;)

Also, right at the end you stated that longer duration = less combat effective. Maybe state why: While in stealth your action points drain.

Yes, I know I call it rage instead of grudge, but only in an effort to familiarize these mechanics people are used to. Furthermore, I want to try use the fewest words possible in the abbreviated discussion in parenthesis.
