It is important to note that I am not suggesting that runepriests heal or buff souly. It contradicts thier career description and would limit the true versatility of the career. I would like to take the time to note the potential of the career as a support class.

If you scan through the Dwarf Careers thier army is centered on organized combat and longevity. This is evident in each careers description.

The Ironbreaker is the heavily armored, sheild and battlearm career that takes the blunt of enemy attacks. As he and his allies are damaged he builds up grudges. These grudges can be realeased in the forms of powerful attacks or hinderers of enemy potential. The more damage done, the more commanding the Ironbreaker becomes. For this reason it is important for him to be kept alive, be enhanced by buffs and stay in a tight group.

The hammerer is similar yet opposite to the ironbreaker. The Hammerer is the real punch of the Dwarves. In order to punch his hardest he must build momentum. This takes time and time in proximity with the enemy where he will take heavy damage. For the hammerer to be his most useful he needs to be fortified with enhancements and have his health restored.

The Engineer requires a team to be the most effective. This team allows him to stay at range and fire at ease. The engineers extra abilities, like grenades, mini mortars and the other grab bag of bangs he has in his arsenal require an enemy to be in check to be at thier best. The engineer can no doubt benefit from buffs but needs a sturdy team.

The runepriest fits in perfectly into the dwarves army as the support slot. It is true the runepriest has many tactically sound offensive abilities, that should be used in combination with other abilities, but his teammates will cherish him as thier primary source of support. With the runepriest backing up the dwarf armies, who are tight knit and group dependant, no unorganized "brawl and tear" orc waaaaagh! will ever be able to break thier ranks.

They will, because that goes for all armies. :P But beyond that, everything in its own way supports the army - everything has a role to play and if played well is very powerful... So kinda curious, whats your point?

What an essential question! My point is despite all of the ranting and raving and speculations that runepriests will be forced to be heal bots or buff bots, It would not be a bad position for them :). They are thankfully more 3 demensional then either of these terms.

Also a valid point. All of the careers support each other.
