View Full Version : Things that won't be in playable Chaos!

Just a quick reminder for everyone who wants to post how they think Khornate beastmen are so awesome, let me just validate a few things I think I remember Mythic saying...

Things that probably won't be happening at all:

Daemons
Beastmen
Khorne
Nurgle
Slaanesh
Each God as One Class
Anything other than an authentic Tzeentch warhost

Daemons are so mindless you really shouldn't be able to play one since it's just a fragment of the God, controlled by the God.
Beastmen are so varied they should be introduced as another race.
Khorne is another God. Shouldn't be in a Tzeentch Warhost.
Nurgle is another God. Shouldn't be in a Tzeentch Warhost.
Slaanesh is another God. Shouldn't be in a Tzeentch Warhost.
Now, 1. This is Tzeentch only. Most other Gods are rivals and their servants NPCs. 2. That would just dumb down anything.
And, for the last time, this is a TZEENTCH warhost. It implies it BELONGS to Tzeentch. You won't find Nurgle here.

Just thought i'd say this for the heck of it. I'm tired of reading "Hey, what about beastman as a class?" being posted six times in every thread about Chaos classes.

About daemons being mindless, that's not 100% accurate. They run the gamut of consciousness just like organic creatures, allowing everything from rudimentary instinct and reflex behavior all the way up to the hyper-awareness possessed by some of the greater daemons; most notably by greater daemons of Tzeentch and Slaanesh. That's not including Daemon Princes, either.

However, your central point is largely correct, despite that small inaccuracy, for the following reasons. Daemons that do possess independence enough to be viable for a Player Character are already exceedingly more powerful than most everything else in the Warhammer world, not to mention rare. Also, even greater daemons are only in the material world on temporary visas so to speak. They must first be summoned by a talented cultist and then, if they wish to remain, be continuously fed with the particular energies of their parent gods.

The other groups you listed, I agree, are outside the scope of a Tzeentch warhost. Though, I'm not quite sure what you mean when you call Beastmen too varied to be playable.

They said they wouldnt be included in the Chaos army - theres more then just that. Slaneesh, Nurgle and Khornate are going to be in the game through NPC appearances...

V'raneth - Daemons wont be playable; they stated it would be human only Chaos.

But I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that there could be a daemon summoner career for Chaos.
I actually hope there is :) , cause then I'd have a reason to play Chaos, heh.

Except that would belittle the rare and powerful nature of daemons and put them on about the same level as a squig... yeah.

I'm not talking about summoning Bloodletters or anything, that'd prolly be a bit much.

But not all daemons are "rare and powerful". Those type of daemons aren't really summonable without an extreme amount of magic around to sustain them.

Since this is a Tzeentch warhost, I don't think it would be out of place to have these guys summonable:

or
http://uk.games-workshop.com/hordesofchaos/miniature-gallery/30/

Those are rather minor, mindless sorts of daemons that I would expect mortal sorcerers to be able to control. I would expect them to be temporary though, as all daemons need to feed on magic to exist in the Material Plane.

Well they said they would stay away from dedicated daemonology, so we will have to see *shrugs*

Yeah, and I agreed?

1) horrors are on the same level as bloodletter- minor daemons
2) screamers are rare
3) flamers are rare
4) Even the most common of daemons is incredibly rare and powerful...except maybe nurglings, wexcept they are for nurgle, not tzeentch.

And you can't just have ONE Nurgling anyway. Nurglings need to be in packs.

No beastmen!! NOOOO!!!!

I can see why, but by saying the warhost is only human, and only tzeentch has culled their career choices enormously, now all you can really have is a champion and a maurauder, since the bulk of a chaos army is made up of all the other really cool stuff aswell!

Nonsense! If we had faith what would we have to complain about? Without complaint there will be less conflict, which is the lifeblood of forum debate. In time discussion would whither and die until all it comprised of was flowery prose praising the developers and their wondrous creation. Or maybe not :p

Either way there are plenty of possible classes for chaos and if you're a beastman fan, surely having them as an individual race (which they certainly merit) would be the superior eventuality?

Chaos sorcerer sounds fun. I might have to switch races....
