I now can't decide between a Black Orc or a Choppa.

On one hand I'd like the survivability, crowd control, and respectable damage of the Black Orc.

On the other hand my orcish heart craves for dual wielding berserker rage!

I guess I still have a while to decide...

If the past MMO's I've played have tought me anything, is that about 80% of the people that play MMOs either pick humans, the cool looking badass evil dudes, or elves.

I'm not entirely sure; while many of the people on this site may be a chaos fan we are what can be considered as the 'hard core fans' considering the game won't be released for another year yet. 'Hardcore fans' generally do like the darker races and anyone acquainted with the IP knows just how varied and interesting these classes are.

Newcomers (who will make up the bulk of the playerbase), however, know nothing of the IP and see only the aesthetics. Ergo human looking races (Empire/High Elfs) are generally more popular as opposed to their evil counterparts.

Case in point: WoW. Before release everyone wittered on about how amazing the Horde looked. What happened? A massive population imbalance in favour of the Alliance. Now Mythic are looking at ways of minimalising the chances of an imbalance (as such would prove devestating to an RvR centred game) but I still predict a more populated Order.

While you certainly will get such idiots as you mentioned I think you'll find more on the Order side as opposed to Chaos.

Make one of both. Eventually you will figure out which one fits your playstyle better. It took me many MMO's to figure out I just love in your face fighting and after being an Arms and a Fury warrior in WoW, I plan on going with the Choppa, Though I wills till make a Black Orc because if they get shield warriors right, it could be the coolest career in the game.

True words, Krauser. I also understand that through various betas, the classes we are currently looking at now can be completely different in their methodologies. The class as it stands at the end of the beta, could be different than it is a few months after launch as well...

I'm merely speculating, as it helps the year pass. :p

EDIT: I've played MMOs for a while, and I've come to realize what the vast majority of people tend to choose for a class. If the chaos class starts out with menacing black armor, when people flip through races and see them, they will feel a large push to play him. I do agree though, Elves and Humans take up a large portion as well. I just hope the chaos start off humble. On a sidenote, dark elves will become very popular too, not concerning their use in the TT game, most people become giddy at the prospect of playing a dark elf...see the night elf in WoW. Easily the most popular race.

Try one of each and see which one feels "right." I usually pick a class ahead of time, but, with some frequency, it doesn't end up being my main.

Play for an hour or two with each class and then make a decision.

Well.. Personally I'm going to play a black orc over a choppa boy. Black orcs are the biggest and toughest orcs around and slightly.. very so slightly more sensible than a normal orc.

The problem I'm having is black orcs aren't the awsome melee damage dealers I've thought they should be, I mean I like the huge heavy armour look but... I want to also wave about a massive Two handed choppa.

I don't mind playing a tank.. but only if i can use a two handed sword :p
