Magus can be singular as well. Kind of like the word moose.

depends.

is it latin in origin? then it's Magi

is it greek in origin? then it's magus(s)es

as it's actually persian in origin, then adopted by the greek and subsequently adopted by the romans both versions are acceptable. Although magi as plural is most common. unless you want to use the english adaptation from the latin, mage and mages. which is probably easiest, but not the most accurate. Mage and magus in englsih are obviously related, but are used in slightly different ways.

short version: er... Magi!

Desiring the sense of being part of something greater....*ahem* I'll join those who say Magus in plural becomes Magi...indeed. No wait! Hold on! Isn't it the other way around? One magi, to magus? Or could we say one magi, two magi? Weee! :) Grammar class revisited. ;)

Maguses would sound a tad silly, imo..

Could we get an...uhmm..."official" word from Mythic on this? My mind cannot cope with it, and i really don't want to break down and cry when in the midst of RvR battle I should get tied down debating with an anal-izing grammar monster who refuses to fight untill I finish his grammar lesson.

I'd just say a Magus, Three Magus, Magus here, Magus there, Everywhere a Magus

Magi. Going with the Latin here, as many english words are.

And no, it's not Magi singular. Latin doesn't use S to mark plural, it has different endings depending on the word.

Magi sounds more than fine with me. Actually the "i" suffix is commonly used in cyrillic languages (like bulgarian, which is my language) when making things plural (for example our word for mage is "magiosnik" and it turns into "magiosnici" when going plural) so I'm fine with it, and it sounds nice anyways. Ofcorse it has nothing to do with cyrilic, just thought I should mention it

I'm thinking Magi is the way, but Maguses more fun to say. Personally, I'm in favor of going with Mageese, but with more than one moose you don't end up with meese. Much like goose to geese, meese would be nice, but then possible confusion when speaking of mice... Guess how I learned to read.

Magi.

hehe I prefer Magi the most. It's short, sweet, and simple.

But I'd say a runnerup or even neck-to-neck competitor in this would have to be Magus plural.
Like deer and moose.

It's actually Greek in origin from the word magos and in the plural is magoi then adopted from the Romans and in latin called magus and in plural is magi.I'm Greek and i study philosophy and ancient Greek language and latin so please read a little more next time:D

Latin origin, therefore magi

Is there a right way to pronounce Magus?

I've always said "Maygus"
my friend says "Maggus"
guildies have said "Mage-us"

In the last one the g has a j sound. Second one sounds like a scottish dish. And mine probably sounds like I have brain damage.
