I just noticed that in one of the black & white pairings for Chaos vs. Empire in the Atlas video that Norsca and Nordland were the Tier 1 pairings. So, this goes against what many were planning on (Chaos being centered only in conquered lands) and shows that we're going to be able to play in the Wastes as well. Though, I have to ask.. where did 'Nordland' come from?
EDIT: Tier 4 included Chaos Wastes.. and 'something'land [Looked like Reikland]. That brings to mind the question.. what city in the Chaos Wastes, with Praag between it and Reikland (Essentially Altdorf), is there? That's also a big plot of land between the two.. most of the The Great Forest and other areas.
Tier 2: ??? and Ostland. I would venture to say Erengrad and Ostland but the area looked like it was two words.
Tier 3: High Pass and ???. That's the best I could see. Wondering if High Pass is in Middle Mountains, in which cause there might be a bit of Middenland in there.
That's the best I can decipher of those zone names.

The Chaos capital was called the Inevitable City, I believe. I'm not familiar with some of the older Warhammer lore, but others have recognized it from some of the old books.

I do remember the Inevitable City, but I never read the book it came from, just second hand knowledge. I always thought it was the lost Dwarf hold Karak-Vlag that was sucked away by choas leaving no trace of its existence when a dwarf force went to aid them. All they found was the mountain, but no trace of the city itself, nor any of its citizens.
Seems im wrong ,heres a quick description
The Inevitable City
The City was built of dark madness, and it stretched across the land to fill me with dread, for the path i trod would bring me to its portal. The City stones had been quarried from the night and in all their details and dressings they celebrated wickedness. No rain could wash the dust of evil from that place and no wind could drive out its corrupt air. Insanity had served as architect, engineer and master to the City's masons, and had guided all their levels and plumblines.
I turned my steps toward the far horizon, and still the City was before me. Once more I turned, and again, and yet another turning. With each freshly chosen course I drew nearer to the City gates, and its towers and walls loomed higher. The fateful gateways was the end of every road, and despair gnawed at my heart.
As I paused to seek a new escape, I saw that I was not alone on the inevitable, hideous path. Between myself and the City stood a man, his head bent and his eyes downcast, lost in some deep contemplation. As I watched,
he turned towards the City. His strides were firm, but he came no closer to the gate, and I watched as he passed me by, and went further from the gates until he vanished in the distant mists.
Thus was it possible to avoid the City and its brooding darkness, and I resolved to march, against all reason, to the City. And when i did so, the City grew no closer, but was soon lost to my sight...
where did you get that short story?

where did 'Nordland' come from?
Nordland is one of the Provinces of the Empire.
Here's a fan-drawn map of it: http://www.madalfred.darcore.net/maps/Nordland.gif
And just to summarize all the zones from the vid:
Tier 4: Inevitable City - Chaos Wastes - Pragg - Reikland - Altdorf
Tier 3: High Pass - Talabecland
Tier 2: Troll Country - Ostland
Tier 1: Norsca - Nordland
From what I understand, the High Pass is to the East of Pragg. Which is no where near Talabecland.
If they've created a new High Pass in the Middle Mountains, that works better. But the High Pass I'm familiar with is rather far to the east.

Hey drace, is that the only information on The Inevitable City that exists?

Ooo.. thanks Seldaren. But another question comes to mind.. if Nordland and Norsca are seperated by water.. will we be able to fight in ship-to-ship raids? Or will we be 'raiding' the others starting zone by sea?

I've been wondering this too. After all, the Norsca zone is supposedly also the zone where you start out raiding a village and fiering thier bodies at a wizards tower.
I'm really wondeirng how they make this work out. I'm sure they have a brilliant and cunning plan, I just can't for the life of me see what it is :D

That would be awesome, but I somehow doubt thats the main focus, perhaps there will be some landing crafts going back and fourth

I got it from this site (http://www.warhammer.net/archives/view.php?id=217), its about 8/10 down the page, under the evil&banned books. Its a list of info compiled from a bunch of old source books. Even references the old Albion supp by Piernan which I have somewhere on a old computer *curses himself for forgeting which one*.
Edit- Wow, second time Ive done this in this forum, actually found the Albion supplement on the same site lol, as well as many other nations to get lore from here (http://www.warhammer.net/archives/browse.php?id=4)
