Ok so reading Gotrek and Felix and Grudgebearer one thing I have come to realise is Dwarfs love their grudges. So I thought it would be cool if in the Tome of Knowledge they had a section for dwarfs, where they could enter in a persons name and a little note on what they did wrong to them. For as long as the entry is in the book whenever you mouse over that character (not account) it would give you a flag of somesort telling you that you have a grudge against them.
This is not an ignore list, hence why it would only flag that character and not person. I thought this would be cool especially on an rp server. Where I actually am probably going to play for the first time in my MMO life, WAR lore is just too hard to pass up.
Anywho I just thought it would be a cool little inclusion for dwarfs, because grudges and dwarfs go together like beer and dwarfs.

Cool idea! Unfortunately a vocal minority of people are rallying to have no way of knowing your opponent with a name for some strange reason . Thankfully EAMythic has already stated that there will be nametags! :D

Well the thing is I meant grudges against players on your own side. Seeing as I am sure the side of destruction already has grudges against them by about every dwarf in existence. It would be mainly a roleplaying thing, because as a dwarf I wont much like elves, but if I am playing my warrior priest then elves wont bug me.
Dwarfs hold grudges against anyone that does them wrong even their own kind, however they can and do put them aside when needed to fight for a greater cause, but they will never abandon it and if they survive will carry the grudge afterwards.

i dont recal where i read it, but grudges will have in game effects. if you kill a dwarf, such as an ironbreaker, you will incur a grudge against you that gives every dwarf a slight advantage against you. not sure how they will implmenet it or keep it balanced, but it sounds like a fun idea.
otherwise, my guild has a 'book of grudges' on our website. we keep track of guilds and individuals who we are supposed to go out of our way to kill for past transgressions against us.

Ahh I see. Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking more along the lines of an individual enemy or enemy guild who has repeatedly massacred you or members of your guild.

Speaking of grudges, I was talking with one of the developers at Gencon and he gave an example of how grudges could be used in a quest. Example. You are to gather "dog tag" like markers from the fallen Dwarfs in a contested area. At the same time the Orcs are trying to gather the same tags for their leader. You gather tags and take them back to the Dwarf King so they can be written into the book of grudges.
