What do you people think about mutations for Chaos players? What about the unfortunate Champions who turn into Spawn of Chaos? I would love to have the ability to grow nifty blue feathers on my back, and a beak on my face, while playing as a Magus or Chosen.
Could one become blessed with mutations so much that he could ascend to demonhood?
Sorry if this shounds like a direct question to the devs, it is not intended as one. Evolving into some huge feathered and winged beast is one of my goals as a Chaos player!
mutations will be in one way or another ingame

I somehow think evolving into a demon, might just make you a tad overpowered... And I'd expect there to be limits for mutations, simply because of design and graphics issues.

Q: (Insert question here about mutation.)
A: Our Steve Marvin, whose business card says “Lead Designer,” died a little inside when I hit him with this very popular category of questions. See, we’re still doing design work on the Chaos army. There’s a lot of row left to hoe before we know much for certain here. But I’ve seen a lot of wild speculation on the boards and in my email, and wanted to let you guys in our thought process. As Steve puts it:
“We are planning at present to have some mutations, but they will be specific to the careers that use them, and will likely be temporary, not permanent and encroaching.” And of course, even our plans at this stage can’t be set in stone, because they are entirely “still subject to art constraints and tech.”
Basically, I want you guys to rein in the expectations a little and wait and see what we actually do. We’ve got to try and design mutations/chaos that isn’t as… shall we say, “overwhelmingly devastating” as it is in that nifty game trailer. Because that’s fun to watch, and fun to play, but maybe not so fun to play *against* day in and day out. At the same time, we’re going to make it all cool and true to the Warhammer world.

yay, first post!
ok, i have a question. i wonder how they will combine these mutations with the endgame look of the character. dwarfs get a longer/thicker beard. this is showable because the beard is actually ABOVE the armor (as it can be seen in various screenshots). orks just get bulkier, which is obviously visible, as well. but what about chaos mutations? i mean, if i am a chaos chosen and somewhere in the game get a tentacle, how to show it if i wear a friggin heavy armor? i am not very well versed with the fluff, so...do chaos chosen have any mutations (apart from small things like skin color, face, whatever)?

Er, yes they do, but theres not a huge amount of standardized mutations... :P Chaotic mutations in the first place, are by nature, Chaotic. They can be basically anything, from them becoming spindly 12 foot tall guys to growing extra arms, tentacles, wings, whatever. We dont know whats going to happen in WAR too much tho

Aye, but given that it's Tzeentchian careers, I imagine they'll mostly be focused on that. Tzeentch has been known to grant mostly bird and reptile-like mutations. More feathers and claws, less tentacles, I'd think.

Indeed, I was just giving general examples of Chaos mutations. Slaneesh is more about the tentacles by memory, while each god tends to have mutations stream lined in a fairly general direction Tzeentch is often the most random of them, as befitting the changer. *Shrug*

Mm this won't happen but I'd like to see a mutation class.
You where once a great champion of the gods but for some unfortunate reason Tzeentch has decided to give you the greatest blessing. The blessing of constant and random change continously warping and distorting your body.
One Day you may have a 3rd arm swinging from your back the next your face maybe distorted into a long fire breathing bird like beak Or your skin could suddenly crackle and erupt with a mass of tentacles. While these ever changing mutations have a good effect they make it so you can't really wear heavy armour , Your main point is damage dealing and using.. your latest mutation in anyway possible to cause harm to your enemy.
Special abilities - Continously mutating , Your character will lose and spawn new mutations randomly . Every hour or so one will die down and another will erupt outwards.
Can you choose your mutation ? Nah but they aren't permanent.. forever changing driving the poor victim who's been "blessed" by his god insane.
i still cant see how to show mutations and at the same time wear heavy armor. i never saw a chaos knight or sth similar with a third arm. i want to see something in the endgame (well ok, a chaos dude himself is an impressive sight, but still...)! so, has anyone ideas on how to combine these two things, mutations and wearing armor? :)

Hmm...
You loot [Tentacle of Flame]. Adds fire damage to your strikes.

But for sure, one would be able to grow horns. Or maybe have your hands turn into bird claws, or the whole arm into a tentacle. It would still be able to carry weapons, and maybe add some special poisoned attacks.

Dechala is the mistress of the Tormentors, the greatest of all of Slaanesh's warbands to ever roam the Chaos Wastes. She is as cruel as she is beautiful and as pitiless as she is beguiling.
She was Slaaneshian and not Tzeentchian
Anyways what i want to say is, that im hoping that the Mutations of Tzenntch are more in
this way:

Here's (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6023) a big thread with a lot of people's opinions on the temporary mutations, mine included.
