Background:
Warhammer Tabletop has a very unique feature, rarely seen in any other game: Morale.
Morale plays a big role, and can be one of the key features to include a unit in your armylist.

Chaos is ofcause no exception to this, and breaking the enemy moral, sending them fleeing in fear, can turn the tide of the battle.

Now this is just a suggestion, but I would be surprised, if there were no Chaos class specializing in breaking down the enemy.

The Devourer

The Devourer is the Chaos Unique-Class, or Melee DPS. He specializes in breaking down the enemy psychically, without much use of magic.

On one side, he is an armoured warrior, much like The Chosen One, but with lighter armourplating, and a larger arsenal of agile weapons, as his main purpose is to weaken and kill. On the other side, he is a manipulator who can turn the enemies will against them, and an agile soldier who hits where it hurts, and disables the most: Kidney, Face, Knees, feet, hands etc.

To reflect the Chaos ability to mutate, he could have abilities which allowed him to regenerate wounds fast, devourer the enemys moral, will, strength and stamina and weaken the enemy, giving him a huge advantage in combat.

In an army, his role would be behind The Chosen One, and suddently running out infront, to get a quick hit at the enemy, and weaken them, allowing his fellow casters, and other troops to tramble through the empty shacking shells of the enemy army.

Roughly said:
He is a debuffer, killing by giving the enemy disadvantages, rather than giving himself advantages. His hits are supposed to hurt more than they damage, so he, combined with physically breaking down the enemy, can get the final killing blow when they are weakest.
If he should be wounded by the enemy, he would have the ability to regenerate the wounds fast, and/or leech the life out of the enemy. He would rather die than run, as he knows true fear, and what running is all about.

That sounds quite good, although I'd call it a manipulator or something, tor eflect Tzeentch's nature.

Oh and morale, not moral, they are two different things.

Great idea there! Certainly worthy of Mythic and GW's genius.

It seems to solve the problem everybody has with a second chaos melee class being based on Marauders. Its abilities are interesting and distinct from the Chosen class, avoiding the "no other class should be as tough and strong as the Chosen" argument completely whilst still playing a vital role in melee combat. It's obviously a character that has dedicated itself to Tzeentch. It's abilities suggest a magical proficiency and mesh well with the theme of manipulation. It also blends well into the mechanics that Mythic have devised for combat.

Let's hope Mythic has something like this, or even better than this, in mind. I'm pretty sure most players could be satisfied with it. Personally, a similar class could do much to tempt me away from Chosen.

What gave you that idea?

We are aiming for Iconic classes. They would never give us somthing generic.

Very well said Sluf, very interesting, although I would prefer the Magus to be the one manipulating the battle and debuffing enemies.

The Ulfwearaner, whom some other guy stated what it is, is probablably the most iconic and interesting choice they can make, and it would be quite a surprise to!

Meh, as cool as they are, I fail to see how Ulfwearaner's are iconic to Chaos, or even Warhammer. Aren't they supposed to be rare among cultists, anyway?

Rare, that makes it perfect for a player class, just as Black Orcs are rare. Also, they are iconic because

1- They are Tzeentch aligned, and we be playin' Tzeentch in game

2- They give off that unique Tzeentch aspect of change and uber coolness

Sounds awesome. Melee debuffer is a nice role for the final career and to have him able to do cool, tzeentchy things like steal morale is a great idea.

Cool idea ..though I would think the name would be Devourer instead of just Devour .. I dunno .. just sounds better spoke. My only other note would be it doesnt sound Tzeentch to me .. it sounds like something you would see in a Slaanesh army. But totally my opinion.

Thank you all for your great response.

I've changed the class name to devourer, as it does sound better.

You mean like posses a wolf or something? Would be a cool idea, but the Chaos already have a pet class.

I'm not sure I follow your trail of thought, Versuvius, but is this a suggestion to the Devourer class? Because I'd be happy to add it in some way.
