alright, since you are all imperials, as i am.

i was wondering. whom do you think would win. This is in tabletop.

Whom would win?

Luthor Huss
or
Greater Daemon of Slaanesh?

im rooting for best priest of sigmar out there, Luthor.

Hate to say it, Keepers of Secrets will hands down. He's a lvl 4 mage lord as well. Honestly i think the Keeper is the best Greater Daemon. Bloodthirster has frenzy which can be abused to easily (pistoliers run here....). But don't tell the Chaos players this, I like watching their thirster run to the edge of the map chasing a 120pt regiment.

He would have next to no chane.
The tabletop model of Luthor Huss is nice ... but he is not exactly very powerfull. The 6th edition was a bit unfair with the empire special characters ... while the DE for example got the witchking Malekith and his mother .. we only got Luthor Huss and that bloody Balthasar Gelt ... I was a bit dissapointed, but 7th edition is out now anyway ... we`ll see ;)

Honestly, I hope they all have the characters weakened back down to Huss's level. That was the original plan before Pirinin got the boot and they started up with bringing in high level heros into the game with VC and on.

But I would have to say Luthor would win, since well, he's Luthor Huss, the demon is just some random no name demon. In reality, the demon would win first turn. They actually did this in an old white dwarf, they had a tournament of all the special characters, and in the end, a bloodthirster won, not a named character.

That would be fine for me. It just isn`t fun to fight versus some uber characters on big mounts, who have special this and special that, so that you can hardly damage them.

And I hope they got rid of the rule in duells, which allows you to fight on your mount, and your mount fights as well .... your general on foot versus the enemy general on a dragon .. ha .. ha .. ha ..

Nope they didn't. In fact, they made mounts even more scary. If your character suffers from a psychology effect, like frenzy or hatred, so does the mount. So a Khorne Lord on a Choas Dragon will get 6 attacks for himself, and 7 attacks for the Dragon, totalling 13 attacks at an average of str 6. So from the looks of it, super heros are still going to be a part of WH sadly

Guys on dragons don't scare me at all...Just shoot them with a cannon because they can't hide anywhere.

7th edition pissed me off. They NERFED Luthor Huss. He's now a freaking Hero-level character, not a Lord. Two wounds, two attacks. Huss should be so bad-, but now he's not even that much better than a normal warrior-priest.

One thing I am wondering about is that in the army list section of the new book he is listed as having the ability "Fiery demagogue" I know i saw this somewhere else but the rules are not in the current empire book and I can not recall where it is, anyone know?

(and I think the stats nerf on Luthor was the payment required for giving ALL warrior priests power lvl 4 prayers and hatred of the opposing army regardless of origin , plus with subtracting from two stats they cut his points almost in half and made him useable by smaller level armies, not to shabby in my opinion.)

Greater daemon of slaanesh halfs opponents WS and I , Luthor Huss would get ripped into little bloody chunks. The only empire hero that's worth anything is Valten, and he's not that amazing.

Doesn't matter who you are or which demon, going toe-to-toe against a greater demon is unbearablely stupid, the only real ways to take them down are by massively outnumbering them or blasting them with spells and ranged from a distance.

edit: On the subject of valten I have seen him dance around with archaon for six turns (game should have ended on the second of the six but we continued it just to see who would win, valten took his last wound on the fifth but passed his Ld save and pounded Archaon into the ground like a railspike on the sixth) from this and other times I have seen him used his value is his survivability, he can outlast the best so long as his stats aren't butchered (such would get anyone killed)

No empire characters are strong tbh, and Luthor Huss would even die to a chaos lord, trust me i've seen it happen.

The new empire book is the first book to be re-done styled to tone-down special characters but increase the number of them. Hence the jump from 2 last edition to 6 this edition. YES GRAHAM I CAN STILL SEE YOUR SCHEMES even though I don't work for GW anymore :p

also chaos lord/greater demon = lord (lord+hero+rare in the case of greater demon)
huss = hero thus huss=mincemeat

Chaos lord just takes up a lord slot, not a hero slot.
I thought Huss took up a hero slot though? Bah, he'd still get eaten alive by an exalted chaos champion.
