Account Management just went up for Europeans, so if you haven't got an account from Closed Beta already, head over to http://www.war-europe.com to get one! Remember that there is plenty of time to do so though, since the servers won't be up before early afternoon.

Currently getting stuck on the image authenticator where you have to input the letters to proceed.

EDIT [8:32am] - Appears to work better in Internet Explorer than Firefox. Link to error image here (http://img402.imageshack.us/my.php?image=errorimagerj4.jpg).
EDIT [8:50am] - Currently unable to connect to war-europe.com, possibly server stress. Only shows banner at the top and nothing more.

EDIT [8:54am] - Able to connect to war-europe.com but the registration service is currently unavailable.
EDIT [9:01am] - Unable to connect to war-europe.com registration page with Internet Explorer but seems to work with Mozilla Firefox. Still getting the image authenticator error message in stage 3 though.
EDIT [9:11] - Unable to connect with Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox to the registration page. Internet Explorer brings up the "registration service unavailable" splash window and Mozilla loads onto a page with the banner on top and a blank, black page.
EDIT [9:45am] - Still no noticeable improvement from an hour or so ago. Keep at it GOA.
EDIT [10:00am] - Using the link provided here (http://war-europe.com/#/registration/?lang=en) [Mozilla Firefox only it seems] it is possible to get into the registration process, bypassing the splash page. The image authenticator however still doesn't work.
EDIT [10:18am] - When clicking on the 'Register' button in Mozilla Firefox, the browser tries redirecting me to -- http://www.war-europe.com/#/subscription/?lang=en -- instead of -- http://war-europe.com/#/registration/?lang=en -- which seems to work better. A possibly code mis-match? In Internet Explorer I still get the 'registration service is unavailable' message though.
EDIT [10:39am] - I am now able to get an image authentication but am presented with an error splash page when completing stage 3 after a few seconds. Error image can be found here (http://img504.imageshack.us/my.php?image=errorimage002qa0.jpg).
EDIT [10:46am] - It appears the registration service is unavailable again.
EDIT [10:49am] - Still able to access the registration pages by using the bypass link here (http://war-europe.com/#/registration/?lang=en) but am unable to see any ID authentication image again.
EDIT [10:54am] - No problems with either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox to access the registration process by using the 'Register' icon on the front page. The code mis-match seems to have been fixed. Still unable to see an ID authentication image on stage 3, though.
EDIT [11:05am] - Cleared cache on Mozilla Firefox browser in an attempt to get through a new process in the registration. I was able to get through to stage 3 again no problem but the ID authentication image is still missing. There isn't an error there anymore, just blank white space.
EDIT [11:18am] - Registration process is still unable to get past stage 3 due to ID authentication image not appearing.
EDIT [11:46am] - The authid.goa.com seems to be responsive now and is processing codes but I am unfortunately getting this error message (http://img504.imageshack.us/my.php?image=errorimage002qa0.jpg) after clicking 'continue'.
EDIT [11:50am] - Registration seems to working better now. I am now getting an error like this (http://img166.imageshack.us/my.php?image=errormsg003yj6.jpg) though. I was for a brief moment able to log into an account I made a few months ago and had the option 'Product Key' on the left side under my user, upon clicking it I got the same error as above.
EDIT [12:24pm] - Registration seems to work up until you try and continue from stage 3. There now isn't a ID generator option for me. I am also presented with the same ID authentication key when I go through the registration process again.
EDIT [12:24pm] - I was able to log in to an old account and input my beta key but it was invalid. When I try a friends I am getting request time errors and data bank errors.

Don't listen to the moaners, I understand how hard and stressful containing something like this is. The people complaining have no idea how complicated delivering a service to hundreds of thousands of people can be and to pull it off perfectly would be some achievement. I'm an amateur web engineer myself and people don't know what goes on behind the scenes in these situations.

And you can't log in with previously made accounts as you get a 414 error.

Yep stuck on page 3.. Account creation, it says please type in the immage but there is no image to type in. So i tried hiting the new image button (several times and NOTHING) I tryed typing in somethng random and i got error code 1103.

Im sure there is something very wrong here... Magnus told us yesterday hed tested it himself, and it was "solid". So either he right out lied through his teeth, or the version they gave him to test actully had images to type in. Where is the goa reps when you need them?

What browser were you using to get the security image to work? I've tried both IE and Firefox, and it either shows just a blank space of white, or an error message. Clicked new image plenty enough times too.

Sorry but I think you guys are being a bit harsh, yes they messed up, but cut em a bit of slack..

I've wored on server farms in the gaming industry, and to be honest this sort of thing can be expected, but what should they have done, spent another 20-30k on extras servers for 1 day when they will be overloaded with requests ??

I'd be more worried if the db side couldn't handle it then you for a recipe for destruction...

So yep sit there hitting F5 for a while and keep the systems/bandwidth overloaded and you will sit there even longer...

Just to set a few things straight.
I'm not dodging questions. The last news we gave about the account centre was that it would be up this week. That hasn't changed. I've answered that question with that information many, many times. People have asked why I can't just admit there's a problem and the simple answer is because it isn't true. We're rolling things out on schedule and in time for the demand. I've not been given a precise time which is why I haven't been able to give you more information than what has already been said, however that is not indicative of a problem.

I know you're all eager to get started and impatient to see what is coming and we don't intend to disappoint. If things don't work and we don't deliver on our promises then we'll certainly deserve some blame, right now however there is no crisis and we are seeing things come together nicely.

A) it is not a valid post code if used for address checks (credit cards, billing etc.)
B) is the standard format for UK postcodes. Not exactly hard to find out how the post codes work in Europe and create an appropraite control (and yes, I am a programmer so do know what I'm talking about)
C) was pointed out well over a year ago giving plenty of time to fix it.
D) a sign of poor programming, and poor quality control. Makes me nervous about the more sensitive and or vital parts such as Credit card details.

Has anyone else noticed (I suspect most people don't bother to read!) that the General Conditions of Use make no mention of billing in £GBP at £8.99 per month? Instead, it specifically states the Euro price and that ALL billing is done in Euro. Does this mean that the £GBP £8.99 per month was a myth?

"This contract shall be subject to French law and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts." Now fair enough, GOA is hand in hand with France Telecom, but I thought that GOA are now based in Ireland? If so, why does Irish law not hold for the EULA?

... and yes, I do have to say, it is a fail to state the registration page will go live at 8:30am only to have it not work properly. I think someone at GOA needs to conceed that a mistake was made, even if it is a small one in their companies view.

I don't know if anyone mentioned it: Not using HTTPS as the protocol jsut adds to this FAIL, GOA. There is no excuse whatsoever to not use an encrypted connection for this sort of thing.

QFT, I am unsure if they ask for anything more than my address as to whether I should enter it.

Its not a hard thing to register with Verisign etc to get a certificate as I have had to do it before and help clients with the process.

Keep appologizing for GOA.

It's for reasons like this that most sane companies launch earlier, so that by the time they open the servers problems like these are resolved. Mythic had the foresight to open the beta centre well before the launch of OB, why didn't GOA?

GOA is giving the image of last minute incompetance and that isn't something that is going to impress potential customers.

If you click the "Register" button now, you get an error message saying that:

"The registration service is momentarily unavailable"

And you can't log in with previously made accounts as you get a 414 error.

This is in both FF3 and IE7.

I'm getting that to.

I'm one of those guys who replied to the poll that GOA will fail. Of course, it came as no surprise to anyone who has ever been around when any popular MMO goes live.

Sure, they fail no more than any other company has failed, but they still fail. BUT, they fail miserably in that they _really_ thought that it would be enough to put the auth server up at the same day the OB goes live.

Mark my words, they will fail again when the full game goes live aswell.

Why do I need to re register if i've already got an account with the site???

Because they couldn’t get the intended registration system working (hence being revealed at the 11th hour). They did a switch and decided to use a system that was working and kludge it into the new db, after wiping the old registrations. I am taking bets that I am correct; this was so fookin obvious it hurts.
