Thought I'd post some info about warrior priests that I think is relevant his role in the game.

A warrior priest will join an army one day that happens to be crossing his path, and leave it the next. His presence bolsters morale, but is impermanent. The warrior priest carriers the light of sigmar from village to village, often staying to assist the militia in defending themselves against beastmen or the like. They are wandering, priestly warriors.(Perfect for a mmorpg!)

Check out this story about Luthor Huss, warrior priest.

scroll down just a bit to get to it.

"‘Yes.’ Said Huss. ‘He does."" Is my favorite part. Warrior priests are like that. They go where sigmar tells them to.

Another:

After two days of uninterrupted fighting, an imperial relief force reached the town and the Beastmen fled back into the forest. Luthor joined the troops in their pursuit, but when the soldiers reached the edge of the wood, they stopped, judging it folly to continue under the dark canopy of trees. Luthor was undeterred and followed the fleeing creatures of Chaos, determined to wipe them all out. The soldiers set up camp close by, in case the Beastmen decided to return. Soon everybody was convinced that the ferocious novice had surely been killed, but after three days Luthor emerged once more from the forest. His armor in tatters, his exhausted body covered in the blood of his enemies, Luthor reached the camp dragging behind him the massive horned head of the shaman.

I think the warrior priest main function will be killing. I think his support function will deal with (surprise) bolstering morale. Maybe he can feed his morale to other players, allowing them to cast and attack more quickly.

Just a couple of ideas.

Luthor Huss is the prophet of Sigmar though, using him is an okay example but not the best.

Luthor is my favorite Warhammer character. If I had an Empire army, he would be in it.

I know. How cool.

Luthor Huss is the epitome of the warrior priest. He is a step above, but only because he exemplifies all that is good about them.

Luthor Huss is a badass indeed..Has anyone read the novelization of "Warhammer:Mark of Chaos"? The warrior priest Gunthar in there is a good example and one of my favorite characters in the book.

The warrior priest is probably the most obvivous healing class for the empire. I dont see any of the other classes who would be that..

Maybe it will be a more melee oriented goblin shaman, that deals damage to get morale, and gets morale to heal.

Luthor Huss is the perfect example of a Warrior Priest.

Will players be able to match him in power?
No, but he's the "ideal", something to take after.

After reading the story.. When they met Luther they all instantly lost a bit of fear. Kinda of made me think that if they put that in game maybe there would be a few passive skills for WP for fighting.

Warrior preist skill:

Faith in Sigmar: The Warrior Preist recites that excerpt from that Sigmarite Bible, and all nearbye allies gave moral immunity for x time.

Yeah but that was expected. Nobody expects the Witch Hunters.

Their chief weapon is surprise, surprise and fear, fear and surprise, their two weapons are fear and surprise and ruthless efficiantcy are three weapons, are fear, and surprise, ruthless efficiantcy, and an almost fanatical devotion to the Emperor, are four amongst their weapons.

Gunthar is a prime example as well, Noon.

Though... In the game, Mark of Chaos, he's a pansy... And ugly as hell... The book portays him much better instead of a chinese bald man with a hammer like the game does.

Taking down a Greater Daemon fo Nurgle? C'mon! And he boosts morale. I don't think the WPs will be a Healbot. Maybe some passive heals. One Holy Light type spell... As in a strong single heal. But I'm thinking of morale boosts, AoE heals of players around him, but mostly melee.

And... For you Witch Hunter fanatics... One of your boys get shot in the head with a pistol in Mark of Chaos. (The book)

Hehe, I love that part:p . Second only to "Time to die elf b**ch".

But on the subject of Warrior Preists, yeah, they pretty cool. I'd guss in game they are some sort of melee/AoE/Buffer hybrid.

They first start out with simple melee attacks which later on will unlock powerful morale and health buffs for allies, and he will unlock extra powerful attacks such as slamming the ground while his hammer is glowing (Which would work like how Gunthar did it in Mark of Chaos) and just some sorta uber melee hit with the uber glowy hammer o' Sigmar (which can be stopped by a chosen with his knee to the rib attack :D ).

And for balance, he will, on average, have less dmg than the Witch Hunter.

By the hammer of Sigmar, smash the heretics!
Hmmmm, I know it's a bad example but maybe a aoe heal in line with the WoW shadow priest ability Vampiric Embrace? Everyone in party gets x amount of healing when y amount of damage is done?
Sorry for using WoW as an example, it's the only other mmorpg I have played.
