Yeah they just changed it to Choppa.
Much like the Warboss was changed to Black Orc

Yeah, the Orc Melee DPS class has gone through a few names. It started as "Berserker", then was changed to "Ironclaw" and then finally "Choppa".

On a side note, I hate their final name :^p. I can't look anyone straight in the face and pronounce "choppa" to lable the class and often end up hesitating or pronouncing it "chopper", but that still doesn't work either.
Ugh.

It was more than just a name change though.
As in the pic, the Ironclaw is labeled as "ranged DPS". The Choppa is melee DPS. And the Squig Herder is effectively ranged DPS.
Waaaayy back in May when it was the Berserker, it wielded a bow. The bow was then given to the Herder. Then there were screenies of the Ironclaw using hand-weapons (like the Savage in DaoC).
Then they eventually settled on the Choppa, who uses choppas :) .
So what a long, strange trip is had been for the Berserker/Ironclaw/Choppa, heh.

The class does still seem ot retain some of its ranged damage though. In the Alpha video, there's a shot where you can see a Choppa throwing a weapon at a dwarf.

It just takes practice. Before you tell someone about the class, imagine you are indeed a "choppa", you're holding two large "choppas." and there are dwarf heads all around you.
Then imagine that you killed those dwarves with your "choppas" because you are a "choppa" and then pronounce the class just like an Orc would.
Just try not to say too long of a sentence, otherwise it might turn out: "Us Choppas kills da stunties da bestest." followed by "WAAAAAGGGGHHHH" and then the person getting their head cut off by whatever you're holding in your hand.

Just remember when saying Choppa to channel the governator.. 'Get to da choppa!'. But yeah thats what I ment. The Ironclaw .. dont ask me where they got that name .. seems to have at one time been an orc ranged class. The choppa is more of an orc berzerker really. Just a curiousity honestly. :D

That's one of the few reasons I would ever play order, to tell the group 'GET TO DA CHOPPPA!' whenver a choppa goes berserk.

Yeah, and personally, I thought the Goblin Battlers looked more badass than the old Orc Shamans. I wish they'd let Gobbos be battlaz. . . :(

Goblins are too weedy and too cowardly to be melee combatants. It's the lore. Deal with it. Goblins aren't Yoda.

Its not against the law, goblins can wield weaponry but they can't ever be tough as a black orc :P.
And for the record Battla> Choppa then again I prefer the old looks to the careers rather then the somewhat lazy choice of splitting classes with races. Gobbo Battla (wiv daggerz, an stuff) and Orc Shamans do make a lot of sense.

Goblin Battlers may have made sense, because at that time, they were combinated ranged and melee DPS. Battlers were walking around with bows. Choppas don't do that; they charge in and cut people's heads off. And while I know you can dig up dozens of goblin Warlord pictures, they simply aren't the kind of creature to cleave people in two with a hand to hand weapon. Orcs do that. Goblins rely on superior numbers; their TT spearmen suck. The only Goblins I can see dealing melee damage are fanatics, who obviously are not playable due to the fact that they attack anything they see, and warlords, who obviously are not playable due to them being extremely rare and high up in the chain of command.
But hey! Those of you who wanted to be a goblin Battler should go with Squig Herder; he has inherited the bow.

The fact that they weld weapons proves nothing. It's stated MANY times always that they always prefer to sneak up on an oppent while he's injured and outnumbered, because they be complete cowards who would never jump straight into battle. They can also not be as tough as even a regular orc, or hell, a skaven, PERIOD.

Well, you've got the infamous Skarsnik who kills Dawi for fun, Grom the Paunch who almost annihalated Yvresse and other such illustrious figures. But I agree, on a whole, Gobbos aren't very strong(read: Insanely wimpy).

just a side note on the whole "Ironclaw" name (which I think is so much cooler than "Choppa") It comes from Orc Warlord Gorbad Ironclaw, one of the most famous Waaagh!!! leaders of all time. I think it had to do with the fact that they annouced his addition to the Orcs & Goblins book in the Table-Top game, and so that likely influenced the title "Ironclaw" around that time of development.

There are no black orcs in 40k.
Fantasy ranks: Snots, Grots, Yoofs, Boyz, Big 'uns, Bosses, Big Bosses, Warbosses, Warlords
Black orcs are a mutant breed of orc created by chaos dwarfs as a better slave. They are stronger, tougher, and smarter than the normal orcs, and thus can acheive higher ranks much faster and easier in orcish society. They eventually find out what they were doing for the chaos dwarfs, got really pissed off, rebelled, and left to join the orcish tribes.
40k ranks: Snots, Grots, Yoofs, Boyz, Skarboyz, Nobs, Warbosses, Warlords.
Keep in mind these are the ranks for only da normal boyz. There are also wyrdboyz, mek boyz, mad docks, etc.
Also, snots are always snotlings and grots are always goblins (gretchin in 40k)

is it true that when a gretchin is about to grow into an orc its nose falls off and that nose becomes a new gretchin
Krulltak

Grethchin don't grow into orks. Nor goblins into orcs. They are two seperate sub-species that grow out of their own mushroom patches.
