Making a Talisman requires 5 items total
The first is the container for the item - (lvl 1 containers are sold from a merchant) - i have been told by guild members that higher lvl containers such as lvl 100, sometimes come as public quest rewards.
The second item is the fragment - Fragments are gathered from Salvaging (disenchanting weapons/armor). If it item has +3 Str, +10 Spir Res, +4 wounds - when disenchanting it will ask you. What do you wish to turn this into - so you will pick one of the stat attibutes that the item has (str/Spir Res/wounds in this case). After doing that (hoping ur salvage is successful, it can fail) you will get a Fragment for the stat that you choose - it should even state in the text what it is for.
The other 3 fragments are Curio, Gold, Magic Essence
Magic Essences can be either bought, or obtained from disenchanting with salvaging (higher lvl ones must be obtained from disenchanting)
Curio can normally be found from scavaging, this is not the same as salvaging. Scavaging has the same concept as skinning in WoW (works on humans not beast). When a humaniod has been looted of all his/her items you many scavange the body for more loot. Lvl 1 curio can also be bought at the vendor.
Gold can be bought at the vendor aswell, however i have not yet found another source of this after searching for some time. ( i believe this is also from scavenging)
Now how they all work i'm not fully certain currently. As i stated when you disenchant an item for a fragment it asks you what kind you want. I believe thats the basic stats for the item.
More information on where the Duration and strength of the talisman i'm still looking into. My only hunch currently is that the rarer a fragment is, the longer the talisman lasts. And a combination of the other gems will be you how strong. (According to the dev's there will be some times when you get random ammounts (ive seen nothing so far that i noticed.
A few things of what i found
Using a Str fragment (white) and any rarity curio(lvl 1), with the regular lvl 1 magic essence and gold - i get a 2 str 8h talisman every time. Whether the curio is purple (super rare) or white(not rare)
When using a lvl 25 magical essence and 25 curio (white/green/blue rarity) with a lvl 25 str fragment (white) - lvl 1 gold again. i got a 3 str 8h talisman.
However when using a lvl 25 Magical essence, 25 curio (blue), 25 wounds fragment (green), lvl 1 gold - i got a +6 wounds 2 day talisman.
i hope some of this info helps, if anyone has something to add, feel free.
