I have been catching up on warhammer lore, i have read alot of 40k novels but not much of the warhammer fantasy, all the books i have read wher great. My question is can anyone if any that has read The Black Libary warhammer fantasy novels suggest a certain title i can read that is rich in orcs/orc battles? It duznt have to be all about orcs but at least have orcs as the main threat, not just little skirmishes/flashbacks or anything like that.

names/titles and links whould help thanks

You've got the aptly named Orcslayer novel by Nathan Long...

Orcs don't seem to ever be the main focus of any WH novels, because the writers are R-tarded. They usually focus on Empire, dwarf, or Elf as the protagonist and chaos, usually Khorne, as the antagonists.

There is a book I enjoyed reading titled suitably "Orcs"
They are not War hammer orcs, nor are they simple-minded "Da Boyz fight gud!" orcs.
But the fighting is good :)
It is a very good book.
There is one nutter that I'm sure you'll all love.

Worth a read.

But as it is, there is no Warhammer Orc-based book.
In Orcslayer and Dargonslayer there are some quality moments where the author writes form the orcs perspective.
"Manflayer killed a few of the boyz who got in his way, just to teach them not to do it again."
But someone should write an orcy book.

Aye, Snoring, definatley.

I can't really think of why no one would make an orc novel except for the simple fact of the lack of humanity the orcs have. Hmmmm, they should at least write a book about a goblin dude, would be very interesting if ye ask me:p .

I suppose it is quite confusing to attempt.

Is the narrative written orc-style? I.e. "But da boyz wernt 'aving none of dat... Grimgish raised his choppa and bellowed at da ‘uvver ladz..."
Or would it be written in proper-English, with just the dialogue being orcy?

Would the second method take away the books orcyness?

A book from a gobbo’s perspective would be very interesting though :D Watching the boyz all clobber and argue with one another, and the boss keeping them all in order… and of course the goblin soiling his pants unless he’s got a large bunch of boyz alongside him.

Well, the Narrator doesn't have too speak like an Orc. Take for example the story of Grimgor Ironhide. http://uk.games-workshop.com/orcsandgoblins/grimgor/1/
