What is your real life Gender?
Male 93% [ 27 ]
Female 6% [ 2 ]

Total Votes : 29

A bit of a imbalance there.

Warhammer universe is less appealing to women than some other mmorpg (mainly Wow or SWG)

Though there are less of them, all of them are awsome r/p ers, so iwouldn't take there small numbers to lightly ;) !

Not all of us are roleplayers :P

I play for PvP!

Gamut

My gaming clan is about 75% men, 25% women. However half the women are Korean, they seem to have a much higher proportion of female gamers. I know that in DAoC probably half of the women in the guild never admitted to being women in real life as they would receive loads of random tells from kids.

If our clan decides to move to WAR in 2007/8 then we'll be there for the pvp. It's a long way off though, no way to tell what we'll be up to.

The poll is prejudiced towards Androgynous peoples like myself, as such, I'm reporting it.

Im male, and I suspect most others are too that are here, but hell I know some real good women MMOers too

Denkim
12-01-2005, 08:26 AM
Unfortunently for me, most of the women I've come across in MMOs have been more of the... ah... y type...

But, I"m a likable guy, so I get along with them fine. Just gotta make sure not to take their items... or get the party whipped to many times...

Denkim looks around sheepishly. He knows hes probably offended someone. He hopes they will accept a cookie as a truce bribe. Everyone likes a good cookie.

I'm actually surprised there's even four girls on this site.. only one I know about is Cass. Flames only has one female member, but it's had.. shock, two in its lifetime. The balance I expect, really.

Oh c'mon, I know there's more of us than that! No way is there only 5 girls on here :P

And strangely enough... I've noticed a slight increase of female players to Online Gaming in the past few months. I play WoW and as soon as the rumours started circulating about a "Pretty bad guy" race the interest from females went through the roof.

*shrugs* Dunno if any of the other WoW players here noticed that :P

That and one of the previous posters did have a point. For the most part, you come across a female in an online game and they're usually a lot more ier than the male players :P It's a nack

Corellion

Warhammer might draw some female attention from the MMORPG community... but i don't think the tabletop battle games kind of warhammer has many female participants, now that i think of it i don't think i ever seen a girl play it.

someone's going to post after me and say something like "i saw a girl play warhammer once!" or "i know a girl who plays warhammer" ... well you're the only one

Funny you should say that.. when i first started playing Wfrp at Secondary School many moons ago there was a few lass that played the game, but there intreset never went beyond Wfrp.

The entire hobby (miniatures) is geared towards men. It's (99%) about men, played by (99%) men. The killing and the war and stuff. Never going to attract many women.

Guy myself, but my old DAoC guild was at any one point usually around 30% - 40% female. For a brief period when we lost some players the active female players actually outnumbered the active male players, definately a weird experience.

In my WoW guild there are about 7 active members (dont mock the numbers, its enough to run strat and UBRS etc) and 1 of them is a girl. I also know about another 3 girls in the game and am friends with them.

However the warhammer universe seems less appealing to girls so who knows, maybe a lower percentage will move here.

Yeah...what's with girls (most anyway, I'm sure some of you here do) not liking amazing films like...Die Hard or Robocop! (who by the way, could totally beat Terminator. I'm looking at you Joe!)

I prefer 40K to Fantasy. The whole "Dudes, we like, gotta go to this planet and blow up " "Sweeeet" so cool. All they need to do now is make a Die Hard and Robocop table top game...in fact...I'm going to start writing rules for those games. Excuse me!

Lag, if this entire conversation wasn't so worrying, your post would have worried me.

Underage girls are bad! Especially if it's one who decides to tell all her friends when you live in a small town. But enough of that.

Remember... One night of pleasure with a beautiful girl can very easily turn into 10 years of pain in a prison shower... Caused by a large man called Brutus who has an overabundance of fat, sweat glands and body hair.

Rudger - 40k does appeal to most Warhammer-playing guys, but I think it's just a tad too mindless really... (That's right folks, I prefer to cut people up rather than blow people up because when you cut them up you can spend longer thinking about how you're gonna do it... And make pretty patterns!!!)

And remember Lag... Whatever you do.

Do not pick up the soap.

lagmachine

In Belgium 17 year olds are actually legal till I get eighteen, so no worries. Yet ...

But yes, enough of that.

As for 40k, the fluff is great, the game isn't.

Thats what Power Swords are for

Watcher

18 to be legal!?

I understand completely. That's insane!

Anywho...

Powerswords are one of the problems of 40k - they add to the mindlessness. Why spend 40 points (may be different, it's been a long time since I picked up the codex) on mega armour for your Nobz when some jedi-wannabe can just turn them into car parts if they charge into you? (admittedly rare with orks)

Now a power scalpel... There's an idea...

Anyway, I like armour modifiers, not nullifiers. And I dislike armour being so damn neccessary for every unit in the game. And I like chopping my enemy to pieces (all this led to orks - their standard weapon can make terminator commanders cry, their armour can be pierced by a lasgun and even if they could shoot straight they still wouldn't bother)

Anyway... This is probably gonna turn into the be-all and end-all of debates if we continue.

lagmachine
01-10-2006, 02:27 PM
Actually, I meant 'till I turn nineteen. So eigtheen and seventeen is ok. And sixteen and seventeen is too. Oh, And sixteen and sixteen. And sixteen and eighteen isn't.

Damn law.

Anyway, I like ranks. That's why I prefer fantasy.

Rudger

Watcher
01-11-2006, 11:20 AM
If you so wish.

Lag, I beg a simple favour of you: Find whoever made that law... Shoot them. If they're dead already, find their next of kin, friends, other family, pet hamster etc. Just get it done.

The law should not be that confusing.

Hans_von_Hohenstaufen
01-13-2006, 12:42 PM
Is the age of consent for Belgium 18 then? Or do you have some weird law that after 16 and up to the age of 18 you can only go one year lower than yourself?

Kai-Loq
01-13-2006, 12:51 PM
Well, that's not entirely right. The law is like this:

When you're sixteen, you're considered sexually mature, and you're allowed to have sex with other sixteen-year olds as well as with seventeen-year olds.
When you're eighteen, you're officially mature. But being an adult, you can't have sex with minors. So, you can't have sex with anyone younger than you are, because that would be, in the strictest sense, child molesting.

Hans_von_Hohenstaufen
01-13-2006, 01:08 PM
Ahhhhh. I'm 'Sexually Mature' and an 'Adult', I rock!

However, if someone was to have, say a mental age of 6, would they be considered a minor still even if they were, say 19?

Kai-Loq
01-14-2006, 04:05 AM
Yup. Mentally challenged people are considered to be minors, and everything you do with them is illegal. Well, everything considering naughty behavior.
