It's early in the morning and that means it's time to do some server updates. We will be bringing all servers down at 5:00 AM EDT. We expect the servers to be back online at approximately 9:00 PM EDT. Keep checking back here for updates as the morning progresses. As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

From the way the whole paragraph is worded, it is obviously a typo.

I agree with Kuju. It does say "Keep checking back here for updates as the morning progresses." If it was actually meant to be 9:00 PM EDT it would've been as the day progresses instead of morning progresses. So, don't worry everyone, you'll get your fix now in 3-4 hours, and not 16. :)

Yea 9PM is a typo, if you start up the patcher it says 7am EDT to 9am EDT.

according to the eu forums the servers for headstart launch will be going down at 1530 today and back up on sunday afternoon for all those with ce games, also at 0100 sunday you will be able to put in your headstart codes and bonus item codes

The only reason I ask is because the 14th of September is only 4 hours away for Australians. Or does 0700 Sunday September 14, 2008 in EST5EDT mean 21:00 Sunday September 14, 2008 for Australia?

It is NOT early morning for the Oceanic servers! Having our own (oceanic) servers in Australia is a first for MMORPG's (thank you Mythic) but the maintenance schedule has got to change.
