[EU Herald] Schedules for the Weekend & Server Maintenance

The EU Herald brought us op to date today on how this weekend will run, including when you'll be able to put in your CE and SE bonus codes:

As some of you might know the open beta will end this weekend, the head start will begin and lead us into the launch on September 18th. This is how the schedule for the coming days looks:

We will close the open beta servers on Saturday afternoon at 15:00 CET (Edit by Avien: THIS DOES NOT APPLY ANYMORE. READ THE QUOTE BELOW FOR MORE INFO). We thank you for the time you spent in the game and for your feedback which helped us to apply the last layer of polish.
If you own a Collector’s Edition Pre-Order you will be able to enter your head start code on Sunday at 1:00am CET. Also, you will be able to register your bonus items at that time. The head start for the owners of a Collector’s Edition Pre-Order will begin on Sunday afternoon.
If you own a Standard Edition Pre-Order you will be able to enter your head start code and your bonus item code on Monday at 9:00am CET. You will be able to log into the game and play as soon as your code has been validated.


Those of you who played the open beta will be able to use the same client for the head start. If you haven’t played WAR yet, make sure to download the client be ready for the game.

To be part of the head start you need an active account on our webpage www.war-europe.com. If you already have one, make sure that you know your login and password and then all you have to do is wait until you can enter the head start code.

If you don’t have an account yet, now is the time to create a new account. Even if you don’t have a head start code, you will need this account for release on September 18th.

This is going to be an interesting time for all of us. WAR is finally coming and the battles for the Warhammer world will begin.

Long story short:

If you own a CE, you can put in your code Sunday at 01:00 CET (that's the middle of the night between Saturday and Sunday, folks) and be able to play Sunday afternoon..
If you own a SE preorder, you can put in your codes Monday at 09:00 CET (aka, in the morning) and be able to play right afterwards.

This does only apply for the EU. US SE head start is still the 16th.

In addition, news on current server maintenance:

We are running server maintenance but the open beta will be accessible until tonight

In order to increase the stability of version 4.1.1, Mythic has made several corrections that we are deploying on our servers. Game servers will be shutdown at 14.00 CET for a short maintenance. However, so as not to shorten this afternoon's gaming, and contrary to what we announced yesterday, the open beta servers will remain accessible until tonight.

In addition, you will be able to update your client with the localised voice-overs this afternoon.

Finally, in order to complete the preparation for the head start that goes live tomorrow, we will disable the function of entering "open beta" codes at 16.00 CET. We will have several periods of network maintenance today that could lead to some lag in game, especially in the late afternoon.

As I see it here, the CE HS starts Sunday afternoon (or in GOA's case most likely Sunday Evening). The SE starts Monday MORNING at 9am

Which means the CE owners actually get 4-5 hours headstart on Sunday evening.

How is that a day extra in anyones calendar? Shouldnt it be 4pm Sunday for CE, 4pm Monday for SE? It seems CE owners are getting short changed all over the place here. First only 3 days of Open Beta due to problems, now only a couple of hours headstart. Whats next? One of the discs missing in the box and half the pages in the artbook being blank? Maybe they will leave the arms off the model?

I would say the main reason to get the CE was the cool stuff not the headstart.

Critical Error. Authentication failed -- application will now terminate

Ok i was playing fine up untill todays latest patch, was even playing this morning before they brought the severs down for the maintaince and the small patch. But everytime i try and log in now it crashes at the EULA. Well game doesnt actully crash, i hear a error sound and if i alt tab i have the white box with the blue border with the above message. From the wording it sounds like there is something wrong with my account, so i tried logging in with a friends account.. same problem. My account works fine on the War-europe site so its not my account.

Ive updated my graphix drives to the latest version i have a Radeon x1900 series. I have downloaded the latest version of directx9c. I cant think of what else to do. Why did they break the game 1 day before im supposed to use my headstart code form tomorrow? I dont care about the last few hours of open beta but i want to do head start.
Anyone else have this issue/error? Any know fixes?

Just because it applies to EU doesn't mean it only applies to EU. If servers are going live in Europe, one can assume (without claification) that they may of changes things in the US as well. Staff already clarified this, but no, the heading isn't necessarily a "clue".
