Hi, i found on the french fanwebsite some screens of the bright wizard, you should also search there for a video.
But i must say, also surely not the last step of development, he looks great, he looks similar to my imagination of such a wizard!
Here the link, i like the work on the wizard, also im normally a non-magic player :D

http://war.jeuxonline.info/actualites/13433.html

You need to scroll down the site to see the screens.
P.S.: oh i have seen now, in general discussion there was a thread for the wizard-screens!

Neato. Looks like it has some for the Magus in there too.

Great models, just plain brilliant.......

The facial customisation looks a little odd. That particularly comical Renaissance moustache needs a bristly goatee beard to balance out the rounded chin and give his face a little more length.

EDIT: Plus his arms look a little flabby.

The bright wizard with the sky in the background is a pretty good screen. It almost looks like his magic is affecting the clouds and sky color.

That wmv link won't work for me.

honestly.. I don't like the look at all.. doesn't fit the standard of the dwarves and orcs so far... but since it's alpha footage i'll let it go for now.

+ I won't be playing them anyways... :P

well that's sort of the point i'd imagine.

a dwarf looks nothing like an orc, looks nothing like a human, and certainly looks nothing like and elf.

I think you misunderstood me. I meant that the models don't fit the high standard of the orcs and dwarven models. as in the bright wizard doesn't look as good graphically.

Not a screen, but this is new art:

My only objection is that, so far, the collar just ain't working.

I'll have to agreed on this, the collar is tad high imo. Only the problem I see with it.

Well, if you look at in the screenshots, it covers the face from a lot of angles, which doesn't look so cool.

His hair looks like a rather cheap wig to be honest. I hope we get a variety of styles, even if all Bright Wizards do all have to have fiery locks.

Good model on the whole though. I really like what they've done with the robes and chains and such, it's a nice variant on the old wizard-in-a-dress archetype. It looks like a human too, which is more than can be said of some games.

Freakin Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

And that orc all the way at the bottom yelling with his hands glowing red is awsome too!

They also had Magus Screenshots, incase you ain't notice.

Hehe yea, I noticed that too. I hope that goes away later on...considering this game is in early beta.

Well since it's PRE-Alpha, I must say that the Bright Wizard model looks froggin GREAT to me...

p.s ofc he has a bit of problems with hair and face textures, this is meant to be fixed in later versions of the game...

I think also it will be not the last presented wizard.
And some customization later for the player will be, im sure. I dont think all wizards will absolutely have same faces, same hairs, same beards. Clonewarriors (here -wizards) we could need for another game, another world, but 'who' wants that world??? ;)

My main worry is variety. I know they want to give the iconic classes a really distinctive look, but hopefully that doesn't mean they'll all look exactly the same. They'll need to offer a lot of customization options so you can actually tell one wizzie from another.

I like it so far, his chin just looks...chubby to me.

And is it me or is alot of people around here not actually paying attention or understanding that mythic is doing the "10 whatevers stand side by side and look different from one another" concept for all classes?

Like for example "10 bright wizards" ?

I hadn't read anything about that, but if they have been saying that, that would definitely relieve one worry I have in this game. (I knew I'd looked over a few really good things about this game)

And if this is the case...can anyone link me? So I can worry less about it just being something someone speculated and then got passed around as true fact? :(

It's not that I think you're lying,it's just that I want this more than a most anything else...and if I'm going to start believing it, I have to see a little bit more on it...

It's mentioned in an E3 interview from last year.

Bright Wizard near Empire Village (http://www.war-rvr.net/images/rsgallery/original/march07-empire-bright-wizard.jpg)

This time around, the textures definetly look A LOT better! They still have to work on that hair and mustache tho as they don't quite fit the face if you can observe, but overall nice pic.

Well dunno, I think the fire on the hair looks waaaaay too bad. Well, it's just the beggining, so... But I really hope they fix that.

Yeah, I don't think it's supposed to be a permanant thing, anymore than the fire in his hand, but even as an individual animation I'm not a fan of it.

The basic idea looks nice, but I think the model's still have a huge amount of work to go.

What I do like is the way the spells all seemed to have moderately unique animations, as opposed to most MMO's where you have 4 - 5 base casting animations, which are assigned among different spells.

New Bright Wizard screenshot (http://www.war-rvr.net/images/rsgallery/original/pic-788.jpg) from WAR WELTEN.de.

The description is pretty funny, although you can't make much of it, it says:

"Bright Wizards throw fire - lots of it - at everything. Burn, baby, burn. Bright Wizards hurt things. They hurt them a lot, usually at a distance. There is nothing better for a Bright Wizard then the idea of setting things alight. Basically, they are pyromaniacs. Now don't get us wrong, you don't start off with all the good stuff, no no, you have to pace yourself with flashy fire attacks until you build up buckets of instant sunshine.

For an MMO veteran the Bright Wizard is a ranged caster."

The rest is blurry and I don't quite understand most of it.

"For you MMO veterans the Bright Wizard is a ranged caster. (I bet your mum is so proud you know all these crazy terms)" ;)

I think the bright wizards we've seen are looking pretty damn good so far. They're not supposed to look entirely natural - their hair has been altered by the magic that they use, making it stand up and turn red, and it should even move likes flames in a fire, which should be great to see if they can manage to put it in the game.

I hope there will be a little more customization. It will be kind of hard if you have a unit of these running around to tell which is which.

Well considering there is 'no' customization at the moment, as far as we can tell, it's safe to assume that there will be more. How much more is the question.
