Hi all,
In order to make tomorrow's CE Head Start a great experience for everyone we're going to open new servers in addition to the ones posted here.
We have a ton of servers ready and waiting and will continue to bring new ones online as the need arises. In addition to opening new servers we'll be slowly raising the population caps on all of the servers to encourage players to start on less populated ones and create a stable and enjoyable experience for everyone.
We want everyones first experience in WAR to be a great one and to provide a place where you and your friends, new and old alike, can play for years to come. Thank you!

JUST RELEASE THE SE SERVERS ALREADY!!! Why do they insist on releasing additional servers that weren't even on the initial list. Throw us a bone hear. It's two days of a little lower pop. Who cares. Why have all the "Super Guilds" crammed on to the same few servers.

Wouldve been easier if they couldve just done this earlier lol

Please just open the servers and let all the guilds spread out instead of forcing them onto overcrowded servers.

I agree with Muruschu. I love being on an underpopulated server, its nice. I don't know why they should force us into crowding on servers, this seems like something that generally turns people OFF of MMO's.

This game is centered around RvR. Having low populations KILLS RvR. This system is much better for both the developers and the players.

No it's not. Forcing the super guilds onto a select few servers is going to gaurantee that some will be overpopulated and others will end up being underpopulated. There is no reason to not have the SE servers all available as well. I agree to have some limit, but not 8 core choices, and that's it. And why are they adding NEW servers to the CE headstart as opposed to pulling from the SE. Save some of us the trouble of having to update everyone.
Oh well. We decided to bite the bullet and just roll on one the SE servers, as to avoid queues after the super guild members are all on board in a month.

There is absolutely no evidence that what you posit will take place, especially in light of the updates.

What people are saying is, what is the point of releasing that small list of servers right now, knowing full-well that those servers will become overpopulated and hundreds of thousands of players will be forced to reroll elsewhere when they reach max. capacity.
There is no real logic to this in my eye, releasing them all would make the launch a lot more seamless. Having CE just means we will be forced to fight 100 people per mob.

People don't like changing their plans a dozen times. So I fail to see where you think the major groups are going to just "wait it out" and not roll on one of the first servers available. This is common sense.

I have never asked for a low pop server and never would. I'm just sick of server queues on over-populated servers. If I have to sit in a queue to play that means I will find something else to do which means I'm not playing the game or having fun.

Hey, guys... it's a concession, and that's more than we could have expected from a lot of devs. I, for one, am pleased to see Mythic taking this sort of interest in the community's feedback. Odds are that if they've listened this closely--and responded this quickly--that maybe, just maybe, they actually know what they're doing and/or have plans to deal with any future problems.

I dont even get why the collectas editions are getting an extra 2 days and for what? They will be spread very thin with all the servers that are open. You won't evne be able to do anything but the pve game. The CE and SE should start at once, or maybe CE sun, SE mon.
And the special heads for characters and whatever goodies are in the box are already worth the extra $ payed.

60,000 players who bought the CE and 15 servers... thats only 2,000 players per server, only a 1,00 per side, and less then 400 per starting zone if they spread out evenly! Give it up, what more could you want.

Seems there will always be some who are never happy whatever is done.
Personally, this is a great step forward and the concession I was hoping for (1 more RP server, few more of the other types) and Mark posted an excellent, detailed plan of their server rollouts on the VN Boards that explained how they planned to roll it all out to avoid queues, bring servers up when needed and allow room and options for everyone..
Just enjoy the Launch and leave your worries under the bed, under your hat or in the tiny dark crawlspace some choose to hide those treasured whines untilwe see how it all works out?
We've expressed what we wanted, been listened too and received concessions and now it's just hours away from the big bang so woooohooo.. Waaagh to everyone ;-)

Ermm you math is a bit off.
try 60000 divided by 15 equals 4,000 per server so 2,000 per side mate. =)

60000/15 assumes that there is an even spread of people that want to RP or play on an Open server... but if 45000 people want to play Core, that puts you closer to 5500 per server.

Except they already said many servers will come up if all the CE preorders come on tomorrow.
They won't even allow ONE THIRD of their pop. caps to roll tomorrow.
A bunch of people are refuting my arguments without even reading and understanding the updates. Please, read them, and your fears will most likely be assuaged.

my bad, im horrible at math. But you got the point still not that many if people spread out.

Man. You are really missing it. We are thinking that 20 people from a 200 person guild will be playing when CE launches. The others will follow later, and then cause these initial servers to blow up in the first month. We aren't worried about the queues the first day. We are worried about queues a month later, where the these mega guilds all exist on a select few servers, or worse, some will have to re-roll somewhere else so they don't have half of their folks waiting to play during prime time.

A "select few" servers meaning 15-25 or even more servers? That's a whole lot of assumption and theorycrafting.

Well, all the inital WoW servers had to have their population split 3-4 times now, so it's not like it's been pulled out of nowhere. And because of WoW, there are a lot more high membership guilds that are out there.

?
That's not applicable here.
I'm talking 15-25 servers within the first few hours. Once the SE and in-store launches are underway, they'll be potentially 100+ servers.
I'm just saying even if there were somehow a bunch of super guilds that just had to get in there and they each had hundreds of people, they'll have a whole lot of servers to spread out on. They will get the display of "High" population even when the server is only ONE THIRD of a server's abstract pop. cap (and the pop. cap itself is set artificially low so that it could easily go over and not cause problems). Hence, said super guild will go "oh noes! I better roll on the "Low" pop," and it will even out as the day progresses.
People will adjust, not everyone is in a super guild, some guilds will wait it out (you yourself are I think)... the sky will not fall.

First, I don't think the sky is falling, and we have chosen to wait it out. Though I don't think we needed to, and it would have been nice to have 15 core servers to choose from on day one, FIRST THING, to spread guild outs, and not 5 (now 8, which I am still confused why they didn't bump up some of the SE servers instead of throwing in other servers). Getting the guild started is what folks want more then their characters, since there won't be people to play with in the upper tiers anyway.
Individuals can adjust much easier then a group. I can only imagine the hell it will be for a 200-man group that saturated it's lines of communication yesterday with "We'll be on the Sea of Claws server" just to change it this morning, and have some people see that info, not bother to check the guild sight since it was given, then roll onto the Sea of Claws, play their til 8 or so, and wonder where the hell everyone is at. The gal was just having fun playing and figured she'd hook up later. Not everyone likes playing on voice chat, so they didn't log in to find out they had moved. (And it can be a mess to have 60 people on a chat server at a time anyway, so sometimes you're glad you have a few of those).

This is just my opinion and I'm sure no one cares, but I think what Mythic will take from this, as well as other devs/publishers, that there should be only one head start date and that a CE should not include something like this as a bonus.
It creates more headaches for both clans and Mythic themselves than it gives actual benefits to the CE players. It's too late now, but some nifty stuff like the Skaven cloak would've been better for the CE players than this two day head-head start thing.

There are a lot of guilds coming to WAR. Some of the more serious players in these guilds bought CEs. These players are just the first wave of players that will all want to play together. Because they will all want to be on the same server, these incoming guilds will be funneled to the relatively few CE servers. It doesn't matter how many servers roll out on Tues., or Thurs., or two weeks from now. It only matters how many will roll out tomorrow. These CE servers will be overcrowded queue nightmares.
Plus, the herald says that the new additions to the list will be rolling out AFTER the original 15. My question is how long after?

I wonder if they are going to over extend themselves. I'd rather be on a crowded server to start, then a month or 2 down the line be stuck on an empty server. Lets be reasonble, with MMO's there are going to be people who cancel after the first month and two.
