Hi I'm still pretty new to the Warhammer, I just wanna ask what are the differences between the Knights of the Empire and the Bretonnian knights?
Thanks in advance.

Knights of the Empire put a greater emphasis on martial training while Bretonnians rely more on faith.

Thanks, does that mean Bretonnian knights are like those questing knights of king Arthur while the Empire Knights are closer to heavy cavalry of a standrad army?

Bretonnian Knights are like those English/French knights you read about in King Arthur and those knights fought during the crusades. Empire Knights are those German knights of the Holy Roman Empire(the 1st German Empire).
Btw why even bother play this class, all Warhammer players know Bretonnians have the best knights in the world of Warhammer. Empire knights are just some 2nd rated wannabes comparing to those questing Bretonnian knights.

Essentially, yes. Bretonnia is a feudal kingdom and knighthood is central to its society; the knights own the land and protect the peasants, as ordained by the Lady of the Lake. Their arms and armour aren't quite as effective as those available in the Empire but their fearless devotion to the chivalric ideal and the blessing of their goddess more than make up for it.
In the Empire a knight is a member of an elite martial order, often dedicated to a particular deity. Each order has its own history, traditions and ideals, though they generally have a shared conception of knightly honour. The Empire is somewhat more modern than Bretonnia, so knighthood is not synonymous with the nobility. You don't have to be a great warrior to hold a political office and certain orders like the Knights of the Blazing Sun will accept anyone who proves themselves worthy.

Simple Difference...
Battle Crys:
Brit:
"FOR BRETONNIA"
Emp:
"Alright, lets roll these fools"
Or so was about the difference when my friend and I played 2v2.
Except they occasionally win wars.
Good point.

Also:
"For Sigmar!" by an american accented German is no where enar as cool as a Crazy Frenchman yelling:
"FOR BRETTONIA AMD FOR ZZZEEE GRAILL!" while charging madly into the fray. I loved the story when the Empire army asked the Brettonian Errantry force to guard their retreat to middenheim from the Demonic Legion, by standing guarding the flank more or less. So Karl Franz is leading the troops away and he suddenly hears a thunderous charge, and 50,000 Brettonian Knight Errants charge the largest army of Demons the warhammer world has seen! Crazy Frenchman! Cool!

Yes, and that is particulairly the reason I will put aside my Warrior Priest main for a Brittonian Knight if they ever become a race (thus class)
Next to the fact that looking like a true (original) fantasy knight without having to look like a total circus is hard-one material for me.

While Empire knights are gritty, rusty-lookin' guys... and dull... But some are shiny-lookin'...

If ya wanna get fluffy, the Brets are based on the tales of King Arther, and their armies are made up of mostly knights, whether it be on horse, pony, or a flying pegasus. Empire knights are just normal ordinary calvary units in the Imperial army.

One point is surely important to know. The Empire in warhammer is also if you look on a warhammer map the german empire of the Holy Roman Empire, with all dukedoms. Knights are looking similar to all european knights aboout '1500', not only like ''holy roman empire'' knights and thats absolutely wished by the founders of warhammer.
For Bretonnia its also very simple and very similar. Look at the map and its clear, its 'France'. And knights are looking closely to all european knights about 1350, not only like french or english of this period.
Some folks saying they are looking like hundred years war knights, but thats also not correct, because these knights are looking not like knights of '1420'. and hundred years war duration was longer than 20 years ;) also german or italian knights of this preiod looking similar, sure not equal.
Anyway human warhammer knights are looking everytime more realistic (not confound with naturalistic) than all other fantasy nations in warhammer or most other fantasy, also equipment like lances for knights. So its clear warhammer founders wanted a game like real (for humans) latest medieval early renaissance warfare but with magic and some fanatstic folks and nations but not only fashioned fantasyshowfights most players want. So it would be also very important lancefighting (mounted) would be possible because its not only 100% cntent for human knights, also the best for horsecombat if you are trained and using special trained horses. But anyway i everytime thought warhammer knights also empire were not only stupid tribal fighters, they were trained professionals with the honour every real learned profession have and.... warhammer :)

Someones got to hold the line. You want men in pointy hates and robes to tank?! I think not. But if Bretonians are coming im waving good bye to the Empire...

You mother was an 'amsterrr and your father smelt of elderberrries! (Or was it the other way around?)
Anyhoo, Bretonnians are knights with a focus on their chivalric code, while Imperial Knights are focused on the martial aspects of being a knight. This does not make the Bretonnians poorer warriors, because what they may lack in training and experience, they make up for in (religious) fervor and zeal.

Hey, we are in the imperial thread ;) and bretonnians still dont exist in WAR, they are only a rumour.
So i think bretonians are orceaters? Because they eat 'frogs'. Orcs are best comparable to frogs (the colour)??
The term frogeater must have a sense for bretonians, perhaps it would be best i could see one eating a frog. Witchhunter (where are the witches) or frogeater, all very similar.

right firstly the bretonnians dont eat frogs, tehy turn them into weapons (see the peasants box set where the musicians drum sticks are frog ended). Bretonnians are extremely powerful fighters, and do practice! they practice at their homes with elder knights etc etc. And dont slag off the great helm!

Brettonian knights are highly disciplined, but they are still human, and all the training in the world won't help them against the dark powers of Warhammer. Because of this, they always go into battle blessed with the great magic of the Lady, greatly increasing their fighting power.

Founded by the rich dilettante Frederici Tolscano in 2310, the The Knights Encarmine are a flamboyant, foppish band of warriors. This may have something to do with the fact that the Order is comprised entirely of the rich and privileged.
They don't count according to that quote! Most Imperial Knights were darker colors.
