Heres a question, I keep seeing Knights reffered to as tanks. But as WAR is an RVR game, will these "Tanks" be able to damage and pvp effectively? I say this as one of the troubles I've had with WoW is that my warrior could only pvp if he had a healer and group..
I just hope that you can "Tank" in pvp with these guys, as I want to rp an Soldier and have fun in pvp at the same time.

Knight of the Blazing Sun will occasionaly deal hefty damage, but not much else I can say. Hopfully mounted combat is in for them to add diversity.

Seeing as how none in this game should rely on a healer, since there is no specific class for just healing, you should be able to hold your own in fight.
As a KotBS you will be using posistional attaks to maximize damage and cc if available.
Also tanks actualy work in WAR PvP. They can stand in the way so you need to kill them to get to the weaker classes. Their Taunts also work as you get a debuff on damage on everyone except the tank thats taunting you.

From what we have heard is that KotBS will be also fighting ABOVE the ground, so yeah- its pretty possible that they are mounted and capable of fighting
So my tips on KotBS is that are pretty fast moving tanks aroun the battlefield to help his comrades out and buff them with them fascinating spell or two, also playing the part as the tank roaming around blocking the path. Seems pretty sweet if you ask me.

Tanking in PvP can be quite essential. During my playtime in WoW, Paladins (almost eqivalent to KOBS) would tank mobs in the Pve/Pvp areas. At the same time, they were able to dish out a lot of damage.

I think really we could say more if we are knowing will be there really mounted combat, and sure, in which way realized?
For me clear, mounted a knight could be a real charger, damagedealer, and unmounted more a blocker, also with attacking abilities but sure more because his armour covers him.
But momentary many points are speculation, ok there is told we will have mounts, but also real steeds for combat? Or only mounts for journeys or 'cooler' appearance.

I can understand people comparing a paladin from World of Warcraft to a Warhammer Warrior priest, but to a Knight of the Blazing Sun? Really now, cmon!

Im glad there exist no common 'fantasy' Paladin (in term) in warhammer, also in other fantasygames the word Paladin is used in false way, its really a mutilated term. Sometimes fantasy is not able to create new terms but then raping existing to absolute curious results, the Paladin is one of those un-'creative' abortions. I would like only female fanatsy paladins and then called Paladeuse's ;), would be more 'fantastic'.
Here we have knights of orders, factly those would be really more Paladins, instead of such curious creations of curious fantasygames. And knights are warriors par excellence like Paladins should also been.
But luckily they are called in warhammer empire 'Knights'!!! :)
Im knowing why i like warhammer, its also (sure not only) the using of existing words and terms most fanatsy is not able to make it right.

I know that paladin means knight, in a sense, but he was directly comparing KOTBS to a Paladin from World of Warcraft; which, I believe, is completely wrong.

My speculation:
Knights will be fast-moving armored spearheads that are "offensive tanks". In other words, Knights would be used to seek out weak points in the opposing force and drive through them. My guess is the "positional" attacks and "massive" damage is that if you don't have some tanks set to receive a Knight's charge, whoever is there is going to take a crapton of damage. Basically we would be used as flanking units that move fast and deal massive damage to less protected enemy players. My guess is that a frontal assault against well positioned defensive tanks would probably not succeed.
Defensively, I'm guessing our defense will be based on mobility and being mounted. As long as we are mounted and/or moving, we don't take a lot of damage. Soon as someone dismounts us my guess is our defense will be ok, but our offense will be mediocre.

@Montague i would also like the 'knights' as spearhead for troops, but also if unmounted a good wall, because charging with knightly lances unmounted is not the same than charging with pikes ;)
