There is already a similar thread here, but this thread is requesting something simple and straightforward--

If I have x gathering skill, which y types of ingredients will I get?

My impression is the following, so please let me know if I'm right or wrong--

Cultivation: main ingredients, plants or fungi ingredients that either increase potion duration or potion quantity

Butchering: stabilizers (such as spider ichor), main ingredients (such as "delicious" leeches)

Scavenging: stabilizers (such as water)

Is this correct?

Which skill, then, will yield the most rare ingredients at endgame? Which will make the player most self-sufficient? What other relevant questions regarding ingredients are there when deciding among these skills?

Answer? The same, only different.

Ticks from butchering make healing potions.
Daffodils from cultivating make healing potions.
Leeches from scavenging make healing potions.

Salvaging is completely different, from how I understand it (I've never gone for it, so I don't know for sure).

Each one does the same thing--at the basic level--just in a different way. It's only when you get more complicated than wanting a basic healing/armor/toughness potion that the differences creep in. I'm not far enough to talk about that.

Thanks. In that case, I would like to hear from some players that have leveled these professions all the way up and can comment on how they are different at high levels :)
