WAR Endless Free Trial

http://www.warhammeronline.com/newsl...tober2009.html

" We’ll soon be lifting the 10-day restriction on our Free Trial!
You'll be able to enjoy the trial experience and New User Journey for as long as you like!
We hope you’ll agree that Path of Conquest is one of the best updates yet for Warhammer Online
!"

So what do you guys think?

Will this offer brings more players back or even new players to try it out?

Or it really signals that this game may truly goes F2P soon?

it won't become free to play.

I like the idea, anarchy online has something similar

I think it is a great idea. It will bring more people in, that is for sure. I like the direction Mythic is going as of late and I have a feeling that they will keep up the good work.

I do not see WAR going free to play, I just see this as a smart way to populate the lower tiers, even if only a little, and to keep the trial users happy.

I don't get it? So how long can this "Trial experience and New User Journey" actually last for then? I read that link to find out, but nothing says how long you can play for?

But it's another good step to entice people in.

From my understanding, it lasts forever. The trial does still have it's level caps though, so if they want to play with the big kids then they have to upgrade.

Basically /xp off at level 10 on trial accounts.
This means T1 being infested with FotM class twinks with BiS lvl 10 gear, +17 stat/+127 armor talis and pots, ruining the fun for new players.

Not sure how this will attract more subscribers.. i doubt they were thinking long-term.

I personally would like to see it extended to lvl 20. I think it would be a great benefit for the game. Although the twinking is a concern. Maybe put an age on the characters? 20 days or something like that.

It is painfully obvious that Mythic sees Warhammer in Situation #1. and the subscribers see them in Situation#2

Twinking will encourage players to get out of T1 asap(buy sub), it takes 6 hours to get lvl 12 by playing scenarios only.

Since a lot of people only enjoy the tier one experience, doesn't this promote them to unsubscribe and play for free?

Haha the first thing I thought of was that I could finally twink out a charactor for T1. I am pretty psyched about this!

Besides, how many days does it take to get through T1? If the tightwads can't commit to a month they deserve to have a can of twinkass opened up on them.

Two things:

- Concerns about twinking and other aspects of the Endless Trial have been brought to the production team.

- More players in Tier 1 cannot be a bad thing. Players who enjoy their experience in Tier 1 are more likely to continue on, which increases the population in Tiers 2 and 3, which increases population in Tier 4...it has a trickle down effect.

Many players who left WAR did so because they missed the simplistic nature of Tier 1. It's not easy to convince them that the C&C changes we've been implementing have actually been trying to simplify the higher Tier experience, from a C&C aspect. It is easy to remind them of what they liked about WAR, which was the Tier 1 experience.

In the end, this is the right choice for the future of WAR and one that we are excited to roll out.

Is there still no level restrictions on talismans?

There has been item level restrictions on Talismans for quite awhile now.

I'm not sure that making RVR even more basic is a good idea here. We already have the city siege - which is exactly like tier 1 RVR all over again.

It's not interesting in the long run, just like t1.

On that note, I personally enjoy T1 because on my server it's the only tier besides t4 where I can get constant skirmishes and scenario pops. It just dies down in t2 and t3. I have like, 5 characters stranded at 19-21 because I really don't want to go into tier 3.
