Naming your orc!

[FONT=Verdana][FONT=Verdana]Orcs normally have one name. This name is taken by them or given to them by other orcs at some point in there brutal lives and usually is either completely from the orcish language or a mix between the orcish language and the common tongue (Reikspiel, often spelled phonetically) – depending on the taste of the orc (yes taken or given, orcs are fungal and though they technically have a parent, they have no parents by which they are raised). [/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]Some orcs develop a last name that is really pretty much a descriptive title. For example – Morglum Necksnapper. Morglum was his first name, and Necksnapper was added later on as he became known for snapping necks. [/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]I took famous orc names (first names) from the Warhammer universe (a long with a couple from Blood Bowl - also Games Workshop) and divided them into smaller parts. I did not take any ‘ork’ names form Warhammer 40K as they are not quite the same thing. The parts can then be placed together to form different, new names, with a very Warhammer fantasy look and sound. Those parts are as follows: [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Gor, Bad, Grim, Mor, Glum, Az, Hag, Ruk, Fang, Rug, Lud, Var, Ag, Wurr, Zag, Rot, Bolg, Ar, Urk, Nurk, Ork, Urg, Ok, Gnash, Rak, Zog, Oth[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]A typical orc name will generally have two distinct parts (syllables) and generally no more (anything more gets too complicated for them to remember), though some orcs have single syllable names. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]So, taking any one or two of the name parts above we come up with:[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Ludruk and Rak – both suitable orc first names. Now, you may want to spice it up a bit with a last name. This name will generally be unpleasant and have something to do with violence, death, weapons, etc. and come in adjective and noun form such as Headcrusher, Snakebiter, Deadrat or Redfang. Our orc names then become Ludruk Headcrusher and Rak Redfang. Very orcy and easily done. [/FONT]

OH noez , but on a side note you'll probably not be on an RP server so you have a right to name your character whatever silly giggle your heart desires.

Me on the other hand will play Kazgut Tuffbrekka of Da Blu' Tuff Tribe whose actually just part of Da Boyz guild WAAAAGH!!!

I've named my orc 'Warzog Eyebreaker'. However, I notice in the original post that, apparently, that 'Wurrzag' is a famous name. Have I, perhaps, gotten too close to the name of a pre-existing character, such as that I might want to rename ol' Eyebreaker? Considering, of course, that I would like to play on the closest thing that WAR will have to a roleplay server.

V'Raneth: I suppose hitting someone upside the head hard enough with your choppa to where their eyes burst could get the name earned Hard, but I'm sure any -good- greenskin could do it .

Or, pulling out a few dwarf's eyes from their heads after a battle and squishing 'em, which might be a little bit more believable. Could be that Warzog might have done that to enrage a holed up bunch of dwarves. Dwarfs. All of the above.

My four-year-old son runs around saying he's an "Eatmeater". Im not sure, but I think he's referring to dinosaurs. But what could be a better name for an orc?

Of course most orc characters (as well as other races) will have names like "Nightranger" and "Killyounow" and "NinjaPirateCoolGuy". It's sad but inevitable.
