Lore-wise they are the Bacchantes of Warhammer, frenzied, blood-crazed maniacs. Instead they gave that to the "choppa" (why they invented a new archetype instead of using the existing Savage orc is beyond me) and made Witch Elves into assassins. You know, instead of using the existing Dark Elf assassins from the lore...

how about you have a look at the actual witch elf models, GW art work(past AND present) as you can see they're bikini wielding psychos.

The Choppa represents the average Orc Boy(options include two hand weapons, hand weapon and shield or spear and shield. Guess which they chose) And I must agree that they should have just used the dark elf assassin for the light armour stealther instead of the loud, pyschotic knife wielding bride-to-be.
