and tbh Yakar, if your gonna release a UI that works on so many resolutions theres no getting away from having to do it properly, no matter the time it takes to do it.
that is not correct. every profile has to be arranged manually incl. repositioning and rescaling of all frames. i just wanted to point out that the basic layout is designed for 1920x1200 / widescreen and therefor other proportions and especially smaller resolutions may not look exactly like the initial build and some compromises had to be made to transfer the design.

and tbh thorgald, i don't think my recreation project has to meet professional quality control standards. maintaining 8 profiles is definitely not the inspiring part of that. it is more or less repetative rather boring "work" and not much as amusing or challenging as implementing new features. this is one of many reasons why no profile or release of yakui is perfect. so if you want a perfect custom ui, you'll have to look for alternatives or - which would be the best thing to do - build your own.

the problem was not sloppy ui building, but just some files mixed in the archives. i'm not going into technical details, but as i explained before, i don't have enough passion to do quality controls 4 or 5 times in the whole process.

but you are right on one thing: the amount of profiles raises the possibility of errors. the funny thing is, that there already exists a rather vague thought for the future about automatically transformation to the different resolutions - and this will improve the quality, not lower it. the lovely side effect: i'll have more passion/time for the really interesting things and don't have to spend hours with stupid repositionings in the layout editor.

---------

anyway i found the lost profile for 1440x900, 1.0 scale and updated the files of the download links on the first page.

Tried out your UI for the first time last night; Very nice. I had no problems with getting it to work in 1280x1024, worked right out of the box. Nice set of features and slick presentation. Stellar job!

That said, I uninstalled it an hour or so later. Why? I'm too used to my old setup
Thanks for letting me realize 0.75 UI scaling makes my own UI that much more usable though!

I have a quick question about Miracle Grow Remix, in the new release, there is no button to hide the MGR window like there was in the old. Is there a way to show the button again so that I can hide/show the window? Thanx again for the great UI.

What to do now?

enter /mg and the settings of mgr will be shown. use the checkbox "Show Toggle Button" and press apply.
you can also use /mg show and /mg hide to toggle the window by slashcommand.

why do you wanna remove the action bar mod? let me briefly explain how this mods works: the mod hooks into the original functions from mythic and only adds the triggers to configure some things that are already in the standard ui code, but not accessible to the normal user. middle mouse click on the Y-button -> ActionBars Options
disable the bar textures, enable the rest of the checkboxes = original action bars with actionbarcolor mod (as they would be, if the mod was installed).

you could try to import the 1360x768 profile for the 1280x800 resolution and rescale and reposition the frames by yourself... lot's of work, but can be done

hint: you'll have to use the slashcommand /yui scale to change the size of the panel to fit to your resolution.

if you have already tried and this didn't work, please delete the \interface and \user folder again. after that repeat the installation, but before you logon, open the settings and change to fullscreen. now proceed with the installation.

the point of that is to switch to fullscreen mode before you install the profile and not afterwards.

cheers
yak

Hello Yakar,

The new version unfortunately doesn´t work for me on 2 different computers in 1280*1024 and 1440*900. Followed the installation instructions and deleted old user and interface folder. Unfortunately the action bars seem to be not correctly sized and some UI elements are having the wrong scale.

Link showing the problem:
