Introducing the WAR Endless Trial!

From the From the Dev Team category we have: Introducing the WAR Endless Trial!
Greetings!

We are pleased to announce the introduction of the WAR Endless Free Trial. The Endless Trial will replace the current 10-Day Trial. All players who are currently on their 10-Day Trial will be automatically converted to an Endless Trial account, so no need to create a new account if you're already a trial customer!

Not yet a Endless Trial Player? Head on over to the WAR Endless Trial page and sign up today! We've made jumping into WAR easier than ever with the introduction of our new Streaming Endless Trial client. After an initial download of just over 1GB, additional content streams in the background and as required while you're playing!

Be sure to check the FAQ for any questions about the Endless Trial.

Note: The Endless Trial will be available after we have completed our account maintenance today.

Fast indeed in the NA market.

EU is as usual far behind. Yet no sign of the city siege changes or endless trial.

I hope this works out for the best. I'm planning on making a return to WAR once I get tired of DAoC again, or when they "fix" a good chunk of the Endgame.

Cross your fingers, this is one hell of a gamble!

Boo - the faq doesn't answer the one thing I wanted to know, how the endless trial works for those of us with real (albeit inactive) accounts.

Since they don't say anything about it, I'm going to assume they are completely seperate, which means:
I play the trial, decide to re-sub and now have Sophie's choice of:

a) abandon my trial account, and the characters I was having fun with that caused me to want to resub.
b) abandon my old account, and my high level characters I poured dozens of hours into already.

And while the obvious choice is A, since it wouldn't take too long to re-level to 11, it does kinda suck since you'd have to replay what you just finished doing, which is never fun.

They are most likely completely separate as this feature is primariliy to attract new users.
The 10-day reenlistment is still available to you. If that's any consolation.

First off the term is twinked, and second they've capped it at lvl 10 to combat that a little bit at least.

I have often seen people react to the endless trial this way.
I may have not been up to date in my WAR crafting but I want to ask:
What's the highest talisman a Rank 11 character can get? Are they easy to make or not(i.e. do they require higher crafting rank than a rank 11 can get)?

Thank you in advance for the answers.

Oh, and after reading the FAQ, Recruit-a-friend are now endless too, the difference is Recruit-a-friend does not have a server restriction.

The FAQ on RAF seems to answer some of the questions too.

I have no idea what the max is, but on my various characters I have +142 armor (minor talisman of the mastersmith), +19 intelligence (Minor talisman of the polymath), +19 willpower (minor talisman of tenacity), and +19 strength (minor talisman of the gladiator), all usable at level 11. I'm sure there are equivalent ones for the other stats, and those may or may not be the max for that level -- they're just the max I have on hand.

Making those talismans wouldn't really be an issue, as far as I know (that being a big caveat) there are no level restrictions on profession progression. Getting the mats, that would be another issue. I have various characters between tier 1 and 4, so I don't recall where I might have gotten the mats to make those, but it's a pretty fair guess it wasn't tier one.

On the other hand, there's no particular reason you have to scavenge the mats yourself, anymore then there's any particular reason you'd need to make the talis yourself. Getting someone to mail you the mats and/or talis shouldn't be overly difficult for anyone halfway resourceful, it's not even like talis really go for all that much or sell particularly well (at least not on my server).

Great.

Now we're gonna be invaded by over-powered DoKs/WPs in T1. With their self-healing and 140-150ish armour talismans in each piece of gear they're immortal.

That's really nice-Warhammer is well designed up until t3 and t1 is pure fun
so Mythic learned something form Funcom and their AoC-( starting location-Tortuga-gave AoC high notes and than..well endgame sucked)
but I'm wondering how is this "endless trial" related to this
""Mythic Entertainment, responsible for Warhammer Online, just laid off 80 people, about 40% of it's employees"
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/09/re...jor-divisions/
and this
http://forums.warhammeronline.com/wa...hread.id=19354
wonder if Warhammer by the end of the year really will go in the maintenance mode

It's related to the fact they want to get a higher profit out of WAR than they're currently making.
