Orc Shaman?

Hur, hello there everyone. First post, so go easy I'm Nurg 'Eadsplitter, a avid warhammer fan and member of Shadowclan.
I was wondering.....although on some sites it says that only goblins can be shamen....I was wondering....What is this: http://www.gucomics.com/mythic/e3ass.../OrcShaman.jpg ??!
Are the suppositions that only gobbos can be Shamen wrong?

Orcs can choose atm to start as a

.) Warboss
.) Battler
.) Shaman

According to MMORPG.COM's latest article on Warhammer:Online, Orcs can be Shamans and Gobbos can be Battlers, but that's just for the moment. Check out the article, it has some useful new info.

I'm assuming that Battler and Shaman can be Goblin or Orc while Warboss is Orc only and Squig Herder is Goblin only.

on a serious note, watching the goblin shaman in some of the videos I quite like the idea of playing one. But as we have only seen 1/3 of the classes and races I think I will wait a little longer before i decide

The MMORPG.com stuff came FROM me, so I sure hope it's accurate. I'm also putting something about it in the next WAR Grab Bag.

Short version - Only Goblins can be Squig Herders. Only Orcs can be Warbosses. During E3, I ran the demo as a Goblin Battler, because when the demo was locked down, the Battler class was appropriate for a Goblin. But apparently, in the days between lockdown and the actual tradeshow, the class evolved away from being Goblinish. The boy running the demo across the booth sits in design meetings, and knew about the evolving, so he said no, no Goblin Battlers. I did not know that, and said yes. Ditto for Orc Shaman types.

BUT

The class design could evolve either way at this point for both Shaman and Battler. Heck, "Battler" may not even be the final name for the light tank/ranged damage class.

Whatever we decide for the careers, GW will look over our designs and let us know which ones would be best for which races in the Warhammer universe. And we'll go with what they tell us.

I wanted to say, i'm impressed with the activity of Mythic employess on these forums. It's excellent that you communicate with us. I know most people appreciate on this forum.

Can you clearify if squig herders can have multiple squigs out at a time? If so is this class going to resemble any of the pet classes seen in DaoC?

The squid herder is even less designed than the others. It's all a bunch of ideas that hasn't even been discussed with the whole company yet. I was kind of horrified to see people talking about it at all The only thing certain is that the pet class will BE a squig herder. And it will be effing cool as hell.

Richard and I will be with you guys until the last player leaves the Warhammer world and goes home. The developers, though, will often be sent to new projects or simply be too busy to post much after launch - so please, would you all promise me now to not get mad in two years and ask why fewer people post than they did in 2006? *looks hopeful*

"Big 'Un" is a way cooler and more appropriate name for an Orc class than either Warboss or Battler.
