He did say summer or fall. Summer doesn't seem out of the window does it ? No. He probably just threw in Fall because, who knows. If you talked to people a year or two ago, everyone probably thought it would be out by this time, and called you a moron for saying otherwise.

I'd believe it more if the "summer or fall" bit was also in quotes. But it certainly isn't. Heck, CEO John was probably talking about the current push back.

Many of those who report news find that sticking to simple facts is not nearly as attention-grabbing (or sales-grabbing) as making baseless, inflammatory proclaimations.

I fully believe another push back is possible, but I think mythic is personally waiting to how the beta goes before actually deciding if the current release dates are feasible.

That still doesn't mean I trust the magazine one bit, but it could still happen.

I'd rather have it released in the fall than released in the spring and finished in the fall.

IDK about another push back...arent the elf pairings in the current beta? If they are id say they are pretty close to doing the final touchs and still have a solid 4-5 months to do it. Im more in doubt of another push back atm..

well that brings up a good question then... how long do you think is to long to push it back then? I'd say as long as it comes out in FY09 (aka this year) I would be happy. If it gets pushed back to FY10 (2009) I'll be washing my hands of it.

Long as im still playing online games I'll be playing War whenever it comes out. Months...Years...whatever.

Yeah...I don't know about this. I mean, it'd be great if they were given a nice long development cycle so we can get a squeaky clean polished game...but man that'd suck. I've rallied about 10 of my friends to hop on this game when it gets released and I don't know how much longer I can hold them.

Worse case...I'll have to play TCoS or AoC longer than the free month I'd been planning to...

Folks,

Four quick things:

1) I haven't read the article but that quote certainly sounds like it came from the earnings call where JR talked about the last delay.

2) Our date is currently, Q2 this year and sites still have the wrong date and others are speculating.

3) We have not delayed the game again.

4) Our release date is set in mud. We might delay again, we might not, all depends on how beta continues to go from our end. We still need to get a lot of things in the game and polish everything up nice and shiny for release. Like many developers, we are constantly looking at the schedule to see how we are doing schedule-wise. We'll release it when it is ready to be a great game.

FYI, we tend to delay things in small chunks rather than big chunks. Optimism is a terrible thing at times. That makes it seem like WAR has more delays than it really has had.
