I had called about 8 GameStops in my area this morning, and every one of them clicked away at the keyboard and replied to me with "I don't have any SKU in the system except for the normal preorder." And most of them had no clue about any beta card or special access codes.

I just got back from a trip out to the closest GameStop, and I have my pre-order done (will flip it to CE version once the SKU is in the system) and my special access codes here on my desk. There is no box for the US version preorder. You simply have to ask for them face-to-face saying "look, I know you have no CE SKU!!!11!!!" and then someone there can find the shrink-wrapped packet of 10 beta cards and tear it open and give you one.

FYI, Guy at my metro-Atlanta GameStop said they just got the cards in today.

One thing is for certain, a quick scanning of various forums this evening shows me that there is going to be an awful lot of seriously pissed people on the 26th if thats not the day of open beta.

There are a lot of posts around from people who are assuming that because the 26th is CE , that it means they can get into the beta right there and then that day.

Difficult to say, I cant really see open beta starting next week myself, but lets hope so otherwise the forums all over are going to be plastered in alot of very angry posts.

I just hope they won't allow all the anxious gamers to rush them. Some info has come out, products are moving but I really hope they don't give in to the will of posters. Better that they take their time and do the open beta when they are good and ready. CE comes with a guaranteed pass to open beta, yes, but there's no guarantee when that'll be and so no one will be justified in any anger.

Then people are going to be angry, that won't be Mythic's fault. Mythic is only promising pre-orders that they will get in Open Beta and that is it. If people are expecting that to mean right away and it isn't the case, don't look at Mythic. People are expecting far too much most of the time. I see the same thing with the newsletter every single month, people being angry because they didn't get so-and-so, instead of being happy with what they did get. I am not sure what people expect from Mythic, they want to show the details of the CE, and I don't see a reason for them having to wait with the release of the details until they can IMMEDIATELY start with Open Beta.

Oh dont get me wrong, I'm already in beta so it makes no difference to me, and you are absolutely right, it wouldnt be Mythics fault. Its just , well you know how people are on forums, they convince themselves that what they believe is right and then kick up a stink when it turns out wrong.

i contacted the game stop about 2mi from me and the guy said they are taking pre orders but has no idea how to go about getting the information. TBH i think it will be a open beta watching the very limited and small clips that are out there and the information that is already out there for people it all leads to the game ready for people to wreck and find bugs (yay for stress tests)

but really i would be happy if they just even put a soild release date down.

Even if we don't get INTO the beta as soon as the 26th, we should be at least able to register our codes on that date. The medium they were distributed it in and getting them this early out is just odd. I mean, its a friggen piece of paper, which if you ask me is less tangible than an email with the registration codes because its possible to misplace the damn thing as oppose to manually deleting it.

As far as the pre-ordering goes: they do not have the information in on the collector's edition in, but you can pre-order the normal box and upgrade the the collector's edition once it becomes available. At my gamestop as long as you put down 5 bucks they didn't care and you got a flier. Also, for everyone who gets responses like "we don't know anything about it" or "We don't have them in"...ask for the manager. I called in today and the guy I spoke to said they didn't have them in. I made him speak to a manager and he came back saying they had 10 fliers available, so it pays to ask.

As far as open beta on March 26, I doubt it (hey i could be wrong), but it is reasonable to assume they will announce when these codes can be used.

I've pretty much said what will be happening on the 26th and it won't be open beta. I can't imagine why anyone would think that quite frankly. Some real simple clues guys:

1) The countdown clock is on GOA's site only

2) There was a leak/multiple threads about possible contents of our CE from a European site

3) In one of the other threads, multiple posters (including a board mod) talked about the contents of the CE being revealed next week in Paris.

So, anyone really want a shot at the title and guess what they are going to be talking about?

I really wish I could say that the date of open beta was going to be talked about but that isn't the case. There will a bunch of things at the GOA event but the date of open beta will not be one of those things. And I can't tell you exactly what we are going to talk about there either for obvious reasons.

Also, as I've said before, don't preorder the CE until you are exactly sure what's the complete story on it unless you were going to order it no matter what. It's only a few more days and everything will be revealed.
