There are 2 'tentacles' attacks, they are described in one of the Massively Goes to WAR articles.

One is a debuff, the other is the 'grab & drag' one

So Death you mentioned that the clients were early beta and the graphics were on par with WoW? In you opinion do you think the final product will look better? Or did you manage to ask that question?

Also, any hints as to how beta is progressing and when we might be seeing open beta + launch?

Lastly, any system spec details?

I'm sure these computers were WAY beyond min reqs. I said they should have set up more computers, and someone next to me in line was like, I bet these things are expensive, dont know how many they can afford, then I reminded him that EA owned Mythic now. But I'm sure they were pretty decked out.

Soooooo, Logitech is sponsoring EA Mythic now? lol

No system specs, they said that again in the Q&A, and I'm PRETTY sure that they said at some point that the clients used at these events were behind where they currently are in beta. And there were still some animation and terrain bugs, nothing major, but I'm sure they would've been worked out by now for the current build. The game is going to look a ton better than WoW because of all these vids you see, old and new, the full lighting system isnt in. There was a small clip in the last Video Phone Blog of the lighting system, and it makes the game look like sex for the eyes for an MMO. Also no new news on the other betas.

Overall was a great time and good time playing WAR...

I had some pics by my crap smartphone blurred most and ran out of power so sorry for that I was a visitor from Ohio so the 5h drive there as well the night prior killed my phone and it would not recharge (still acting up, damn you Baltimore!)

Beta was a good play. When buddy and I were up, playing Destruction, we were the first players that went through the Praag scenario a full 18 vs. 18 capture scenario. Was quite good and while as stated earlier most were just trying to understand the game for the first time there was quite a bit of killing going on

Each terminal had a predefined set of toons on each faction defined so you were limited to what terminal you were at but for my 20 minutes of game play it was a Greenskin Choppa. Waaagghh'ed a few times while attempting to hold the center of Praag from those nasty Order fellows but in the end Order held and defeated us 500/500 vs 380/500

Game play was smooth but not checking into the options I could not tell if they were set max but judging by the appearance of the landscape and objects within the world they were not. Later discussions with a developer indicated the lighting systems were not fully implemented in the version being displayed.

I really enjoyed the look and feel of WAR thus far and the tome, from what few minutes I had with it while others loaded the scenario was awesome! Collision detection was very good and even ticked me off a few times since I couldn't reach my target due to some other silly Order noob in my way! Afterwards we headed over to the strictly PvE terminals and we learned more of the world maps, starter zones as well pairings as we were playing a Dark Elf (sorry can't remember, was buddy at the monitor).

We were greeted by a eager developer, who's name was not given, who answered a TON of questions regarding RvR including keeps, some of the scenarios as well the transportation system. Speaking about the transportation system in general it was stated they had not decided upon it fully yet such as portals to navigate lands to land or more a mounted/flying system such as WoW. What WAS interesting is we were told that at this time they pretty much felt that having to discover a location, such as a flight path in WoW, before being able to use it was ludicrous. Expect some good things coming on this.

I also asked a very critical question to another CS and Dev group regarding SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS!

Yes, yes it's been hashed around a ton and while it could not be fully confirmed a wise gentleman pretty much stated "any PC within the past 3 years will more than likely run WAR without issues." Continuing my questioning we were pleased to hear that "anything typical Dual Core will have NO issues running WAR but visuals will of course depend upon graphics card". I ask about my nVidia 8800 GTS 320mb card and was also pleased by hearing "I believe many of the beta terminals here today are running the 8800 GTS line (G80 Core)" Awesome.

My buddy at the end asked, since he's YET to upgrade to the Dual Core/PCI-E route, older P4 systems and AGP cards. "Depends on the processor. Some of the later and faster rated P4's might do OK with WAR but ultimately will need to have the visuals toned down to get the best `game play`" Earlier P4 processors, noted those without HT, will more than likely `wish you had planned an upgrade`.

The Q&A was again great. Jeff and Josh answered TONS of questions and it felt good seeing and hearing about their baby. I makes me feel good, being a developer myself, seeing pride in your work and these "Producers" (they joked that was their title) have quite a bit of pride and glee speaking about WAR.

We had a 5 hour road trip back to Ohio and since we hadn't the money for all the TONS of WAR goodies I picked up 2 tee's for my 2 boys and we were off.

It was a great experience seeing WAR online and live as well the excitement and dedication the team has over this game. I have full confidence, based on what I've seen, I will have NO issues gleefully enjoying my CE upon launch!

Off to register my additional beta code and skaven cloak codes, cheers and WAAAGGGHH!

I'll definately read your write up but AWESOME QUESTION mate!

Seriously, we clapped (as you probably heard) when you asked that

Their response was equally awesome. The magical bags from PQ's will contain items specific to YOUR class so no more "having to hand it to some " LOL what a great response!

Good questions and the Q&A was quite informative and awesome!

Didnt pay much attention to the arrows, I know you could have one enemy and one ally selected, and I believe there were arrows to objectives in certain scenarios, but I really was just running around hitting people, trying various abilities and whanot, was fairly overwhelmed with the joy/adrenaline of finally being able to play it!
