EA Mythic to be Renamed Mythic Entertainment

Mythic Entertainment. It’s a name that we haven’t really heard much of since June 20th, 2006 when the company known best for their Realm vs. Realm style MMORPG Dark Age of Comelot and their upcoming MMORPG Warhammer Online announced that it had been acquired by publishing giant Electronic Arts (EA). After the announcement the company went through a name change and a re-branding, including a new logo, that saw the studio re-named “EA Mythic”.

Today, MMORPG.com learned that EA Mythic will be going through another transition as the company reclaims the Mythic Entertainment name.

Also, what's with that name change, I for one don't like the looks of it. Mythic has always claimed that EA has been a great support for them, and now they suddenly seems to get rid of this connection to EA. Strange

If one of the announcements was a name change I wouldn't expect the other 3 to be "big", but I do expect guild beta to start.

It's not strange at all really when you look at it

The EA Games Label (which we're a part of) is very supportive of the idea of studios having their own image and as the article said operating as "city states" within EA.

DICE, BioWare, Pandemic, etc. are just some examples of this.

It shows that we're a group of individuals working together towards a great goal. To make great games for our fans who have known us for a long time.

Dear god I hope not @ the bolded text. From what I'm hearing at least. beta is going VERY well. No problems really, so I'm hoping for no push backs. The last time it was pushed back was because of a large revamp thanks to player feedback.

Whilst even the thought of them announcing a date for Open Beta is making me short of breath I very very much doubt they'll announce it. I see a "Guild Beta starts next Monday" announcement. However, I could see them announcing when the Guild Beta ends thus giving a good hint at a rough time for Open Beta.
