Obviously somebody was worried that having EA brand in the developer name was going to attract the EA haters. It would make sense since most gamers are morons and don’t know the differenece between a publisher or developer. People see Mythic Entertainment they won't even bother to look up to see they are owned by EA.

I'm sure the move wasn't cheap either but somebody is worried about the EA brand bringing negative opinions to the upcoming product that is for sure.

Dunno I've always seen it on only G4 with some coverage of it. Never from anywhere else. But right when they announce their statements they're probably gonna be on WHA withing a few seconds. So you don't have to worry about missing it

Good news indeed. More cred for Mythic as a team, more cred for the game when talking to the haters, and more cred for EA when the game does well.

It looks like the best E3 coverage on television this year is going to be on Spike TV they've announced the times, etc they are doing coverage but I don't remember them off hand.

I'd count on IGN/Vault Network and maybe some of the other groups (like TTN, etc) to bring some video coverage... lets hope they have some great coverage lined up

Folks,

Just some quick points and then I'm off to see a 12:01 showing of Hellboy II.

1) We are not, repeat not, going to announce a delay tomorrow. The game is not going to be shut down, Paul has not gone screaming into the woods, Jeff hasn't found another job and a well-known politician is not talking about cutting off part of my anatomy. In the words of one of my favorite authors, who I wish was still among us, "DON'T PANIC".

2) The announcements are not mundane.

3) The announcements will be worth reading, they are wide-ranging and frankly, some of the stuff I talk about is central to the game.

4) The name change is a wonderful thing but it wasn't done to distance ourselves from the EA name but rather to re-establish the separate brand identity for ourselves and for the other studios within EA. This is a long-standing wish of mine and I am thrilled that it has happened. Having separate brands for EA is a win-win scenario and we are not the first EA studio to have a name change/modification.

For those who are worrying whether the sky is going to fall down tomorrow. Nah, nothing that horrible. There is a lot of really important stuff in tomorrow's story and as always, I'm not reticent to talk about WAR warts and all.

The most humorous thing about the interview is the timing. Browncoat, you may want to begin to sharpen your pencil.

And as always, I'll be around to address some things in more detail.

But again, "DON'T PANIC" and remember (1) above.

Mark

Luckily, this doesn't affect me at all. I have always just called them Mythic .

Yesterday when I got my call for the Customer Support Interview I noticed that my caller ID listed it as Mythic Entertainment. I thought it was odd at first but I just figured the phone number was never changed or the name the number was listed under was never changed.

Also Mr. Jacobs you mentioned what wasn't happening to Paul, Jeff, and yourself but what isn't happening or is happening to Josh? poor Josh got left out.

1. It has been a very unfortunate thing to face, but its been decided that cross server scenario's are going to be a necessary evil.

2. Due to the importance of the guild beta, it has been decided that the guild beta needs to be doubled in length and the open beta will be shortened. This is so that we can keep the same release date.

3. Due to the sheer difficulty of the task in making the Blackguard, we have decided to toss it completely out the window and go with a whole new class that we will be premiering at E3! Yay, good news right guys? No one wanted those anyways right? Right?

*Panics anyway!*

Looking forward to reading the announcements. Enjoy Hellboy II and give us a quick non spoiler thumbs up or thumbs down if you can.
