Nothing to get riled up about for me. Didn't intend to be any of those classes and as long as the city is easily accessible then it's fine. PUNKBUSTER on the other hand...

It's important to remember a few key facts:

A) The game is still in development, it's important that we make the right decisions to have a successful launch.
B) We want to make a great game, not a good game. I think we can all agree that playing a career that wasn't up to par with our standards doesn't accomplish that.
C) Capital cities require you to capture 2 of the 3 campaigns. We'll have a much more informative explanation of how city capture works but it's now even more challenging and requires the cooperation of the entire realm to march to the gates of your enemies city and conquer their king, which in the end was always our goal.

WAR, while now different, is more exciting and engaging then ever before and the cities and careers provide an experience to look forward too
I'm sure you guys have been sweating about the communities reaction over this for some time now. I would like to say that while disappointed, I do appreciate the honesty about the current situation of the game. Nothing would have made me more angry than having anticipated all of the promised content and then wondering where it went after I downloaded the game. I can see how the game play involved with only one capitol city to siege could be an improvement at launch since none of us really know how balanced it would have been spread over 3 different fronts.

The class cuts hurt a bit but its not so bad since some cities were cut as well. I think that all the community needs is some time to step back and take a look at the game again. Open beta starting soon might help so that we get a good look at how things are since this has probably done some damage to the image of this game.

Again though, I would like to say that the honesty of the situation gives me hope that the decision is the right one. My trust in this game and its developers is still intact

Cutting classes pre-release prevents those types of errors from happening; from Mythic's point of view. Also... WAR is still in the "beta" stage, and MBJ has said time and time again... if it doesn't fit or work, they've got no problem with cutting it. Obviously, they're sticking to their guns.

We've all been extremely pleased with the quality of work and thought put into the game thus far... and, for the most part; we've agreed with the decisions that mythic has made. Why stop now? They've seemed pretty straight forward and level headed (after learning a lot from DAoC) up to this point; they made the decision for obvious reasons to them.

From mythics perspective... having promissed the player base specific classes, dedicating the time to develop them, have concept artist and texture artist work on them, as well as plan out abilities / quests / rewards etc... don't you think the *last* people who want to cut 4 classes would be Mythic; unless there was something genuinely and fundamentally wrong with them? Development costs already sunk in the classes alone would be enough reasons to make most studio's "make the classes work"... its a very stand-up decision, imo, by Mythic to scrap the classes early and let us know.

Still, it sucks I can play my pointy armored, sword swinger
/agree

and yes my fellow Chosen brother, I guess there will be even more need for us now on the battle field eh?

Goodbye Warhammer.

I'm going back to Wow, maybe Vanguard (I heard it is pretty good now).

PunkBuster cannot automatically do anything, including boot a user from the server.

It is purely for monitoring purposes and alerting CSR's of any suspicious activity.

It still requires a member of our Customer Support team following our guidelines for support to take any action against an account.

Many of us have played FPS's to be booted from the server for no apparent reason. This will not be the case here as any instance will still require an investigation, it simply allows us to hone in on possible troublemakers faster than ever and keep your RvR and PvE experience as fair as possible

You're acting as if the classes and cities have been cut completely.

yeah i agree i can play a magus and it will be awsome :P ill roll a BG alt

people are acting like the world is ending this just means aftica and america are gonna be put in in a few monts XD

I can get leaving out some melee DPS, but the Black Guard, really? I mean, that's their TANK. It's going to be difficult to function without it.

Punkbuster can be annoying at times, but that would be okay IF IT ACTUALLY WORKED. Punkbuster is crap, i still use the same bs hacks I've been using for months just to stay competitive.

What's pissing me off the most is that I played the choppa in Paris game convention this september. It's not breaking the NDA saying KOBTS and Hammerer were tested in beta....

So while "They are not fun enough" may seem like a good idea, seems to me like a waste of ressources.

Well, you have to admire Mythic for coming clean and not trying to rush things out.

However, I feel bad for players planning on playing one of the 4 axed (hopefully temporarily) careers.

Even so that is only half of peoples concerns. There is still the loss of 4 cities.

Honestly I know its childish but I don't care what logic they have behind their decision this is a crushing blow that won't be easily healed.
And I'm getting sick and tired of their "big announcements". Just stop getting are hopes up and just come out and tell us the bad news. Don't hoax everyone into thinking something cool or new will be announced and then instead end up telling us this.
