Simple enough question i think. I'm not talking about getting the jump on healers, a fight with things to hide behind, or getting free shots off when they are not expecting it. I'm curious about a fair duel.
--Do SH's kill healers in a simple 1v1 duel at rank 40? Or am i going to be detaunted, healed through, and slowly killed by healers. For sake of argument, a duel between a well played SH and well played healer. It occured to me the answer may be no, and would like to know this before i level my SH to 40. I would assume the healer would run in close so i could not get the shots i wanted off. I have not played SH or a healing class at 40 and really have no idea what the turnout would be. Thanks in advance. |

Assuming same gear-level:
- you should be able to kill AM. Decent players (both healing and dps specced) will require effort though. - WP no chance - all they need to do is chase you + spam judgement. - RP dont know, never seen duelling RP - in oRvR 1vs1 i kill them consistently. I disagree for the most part. AM will dot you up then AP drain+sheild+hot+detaunt, maybe not in that order.
I agree with the WP-RP part though. Before the AP "fix" it was pretty simple to load up healers with debuffs and plink a few times until dead. |

i dont think you would kill any healer that is good at his class in a 1v1. any of the 3 classes. you'll kill alot of bad ones tho.
you certainly wouldnt come any close vs me on my RP. with the new stagger, it would be even more ridiculously easy. |

I find RPs easier than most AMs who are easier than every WP.
However, good DPS AMs kill me every time. Their DOTs take me down very fast and they're pretty much all insta cast 100 foot range so I really don't see how kitting works, even a 4s silence unless u happen to have UF up. Maybe its just my bad playstyle :P WP I don't even both engaging. In open RVR I don't focus on them,

i have killed many AMs i duel they are fairly easy cause you simply silence them in the <<window>> that the AM is going to heal it is easy to gues it cause the heal will go in when he stops dpsing you if you silence him then and dps him he is gone if you dont there is a certain chance for him to kill you if your morale 2 is up then you have a chance.
WPs now those are hard biches you have to kite them like an IB and if you are lucky and manage to get to morale 2 you fully dot him and then you wait for his over time heals to run out and before he renews them you silence him and then you open morale 2 with your dots in his and then you may have a chance to kill him but yet again it is very hard. RPs are quite hard cause of their survivability but if you use kamenra you can runt hem out of APs then you are giving him hard time cause RPs are extremely depended on APs AMs due to certain tactics have reduced costs but not RPs since i worn kamenra i never lost to a RP. btw all my above advices are for duels with healers of 71rr+ lower rr healers might react or play differently. ps: for RPs use everysingle debuff you have in your arsenall they are very resilient |

I have never really had trouble again AM or RP as QS. I find it important to last long enough for morale 2 + silence + squig damage buff though. At that point I plink away and hope for the best.

If youre a squig herder you should be able to kill any healer with equal or less gear then you. you should first snare them dot dance and then root, silence spam plink.
If that dont work get better cause everytime I have done that it has been a sucsess :P

okay i only play with my group, but i'm the one who takes all healers down, before they know whats going on.
i got some duells vs healers a few times and if you can do some pressure in the first 2-4 secs ( plink, dot, healreduce, plink) he has to stand still, to heal. Then its time for reapply healreduce and plink. if the time is right, use silence and plink him to death |

You should be able to kill AMs, rather easily. Even tho they can suck your AP, a right tactic brings them down. They cant heal themselves AND drain your AP at the same time, so unless they pre-hot themselves, you have a kill. Some spike dmg to force them to focus on healing, debuffs, silence, more spike dmg. ES + ABM and even detaunts wont save them.
Good WPs are nearly impossible in 1v1 (healbots) Your only chance is to build morale while staying alive and keeping your range, debuff them, silence them, unleash hell and hope for the best. Focused mind with poison, plink, plink, plink, poison, fem did the trick for me once or twice. But its better not to fight WPs in duels RPs, if played correctly, are impossible to take down in 1v1. If not, you have just another AM, just shorter, uglier and drunkier.

Well I am an Archmage and can tell you that in straight up fights (ie not jumped when low on hps and such), I don't lose to Squiggys.
I find SHs to be one of the easier classes to kill. I am dps spec btw. Mostly just drop my ap drain, 4 or so dot's, detaunt, shield, hot, rinse repeat. got my 2nd detaunt if needed also. The AP drain is nasty. Not saying all the fights are super easy, but if I die it is only due to me messing up. Wrong hot bar, wife yelling at me |

Well, DPS Archmages might be quite tough to take down if they play properly.
