Due to the almost non-existent resists on this gear am I better off with green/blue gear off the AH that has stats+resists? (Assuming I RvR/Scens 95% of the time)

agreed, turning in quests from doing scenario's is an easy way to get a decent amount of money. With this you can often get superior gear from AH (resistances !) without having to grind influence.

The gear is ok, but if they would add some resistances and maybe a few talisman slots it would really be superior to random green gear. Rightnow.. its not.

renown r24 on the shoulders + gloves, renown r26 on chest.. then you can buy them from your renown vendor I would assume.
