Warhammer Alliance Turns Two

So, it’s the two-year anniversary for the Warhammer Alliance.

Hard to believe that, two years ago, this community was a bunch of Climax leftovers held together with a couple of staples and some pritt-stick. Then Garthilk came along and the site you see before you today was born. Maybe a few of you remember the original Warhammer Alliance site in all its sandy coloured radiance before the colours and boards you see before you were brought into existence. After two years, we are a home for all those fans we’ve seen bursting with enthusiasm and hope for a game that hasn’t even been released yet; you.

That’s what the Warhammer Alliance is about. It’s got nothing to do with the boards, nothing to do with the site or the colour scheme or any of those things. It’s about the community. Over the past two years we’ve seen it all, from good to bad, but most of all we’re proud of the community that has been cultivated here. It’s you guys that have stuck with us through thick and thin, taking the good with the bad and joining in with the excitement and great discussion we have about a game that I don’t even need to mention.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the staff we have, though, and let me tell you, after all this time they’re the best bunch I’ve ever had the honour of working with. Some of you may remember the old Administrators and Moderators that have helped us out, and I’ll give them special mention now even though they are no longer a part of the team. Special thanks goes to Pendrako, one of the original Admin’s, also responsible for most of the articles on the site. Thanks also goes to Vervayne who joined us for a while along with her companion, Akkira, after merging her site with the WA. More recently, too, has been Omnicromulux (if I’ve even spelt that right!), who, while only having been around for a while, still contributed and helped out with the community. Without these people the site wouldn’t be the way it is now.

As for today, we have a brilliant team. Kilrogg holds his own as a determined Administrator, responsible for holding this community together for more than a year now. We also have on board the enthusiastic Skeksis, savvy Browncoat and helpful Goatrider; three moderators I admire for their excellent input to the site. And, of course, our site manager Garthilk, who remains the strong force driving the forums from prosperity to prosperity without whom the site wouldn’t even exist. These people are the backbone of the Warhammer Alliance and, though you may not notice them about their work behind the scenes, they do a brilliant job of keeping the forums in the best state possible. These are the people you have to thank for this site and the way it is.

Lastly, of course, we come to the future of the Warhammer Alliance. For this I should refer to the last batch of recruits freshly plucked from the community to join the staff, Lux et Veritas, Blood Dragon and CapnSquig. These names, among others, will take up the mantle of keeping the quality of the site up, along with us that have been around for years, keeping it full of quality discussion, good times and, most important of all, fun.

So, when celebrating the Warhammer Alliance’s two year anniversary, I don’t look at the site and the forums. I look to the people behind it all, the staff, and thank them. Then I look to the community itself; you. Without you, none of this would have been possible. Thank you.

Here's to many more years in the future, full of prosperity.

Heya folks,

Can you believe we've officially been around for two years now? I can't. I can't believe I've had the opportunity to work with so many great site staff. That I've gotten to hang out with folks whom are just as dedicated to WAR as they were two years ago. Sometimes when put in the perspective of time, it seems so bizarre.

But rather than bizarre, this site, this community, it's just amazing. I would like to give a huge, huge, thanks for the nearly 200 folks whom were here since the beginning. The ones who started two years ago and are still active today. The ones who contribute the most to make this community a better place. I can't thank you guys enough.

When I look back its hard to count the number of blessings we've received. Still though, thanks again. To the staff, the posters, the contributers, to Mythic and to Curse. Thanks again for an amazing two years. I am really looking forward to the next two. When I look at some of the stuff we've got in store, and look at where we've been. All I can say is, kudos to you all.

Also, I'm very, very happy to annouce some major milestones with the site. We are now the largest, most traffic Warhammer Online fansite in existance. We hit the goal of more than four thousand active posters driving this community and I couldn't be happier. It's truely amazing just how far we've come in these two years.

Thanks again everyone.

Brings a tear to my eye . But honestly now, I remember when the site firs opened and I thought to myself, "Who's this Garthilk? Making a brand new forum when we have a perfectly good one." How little I knew... Thanks to Garth the old community has turned into the great one that it is today. I can't thank you and all of the staff enough. Thank you.

A highly admirable achievement - from what I've seen, it's a mixture of harsh but fair moderation along with mature posters and community members which has turned WHA into the premier WAR fan site/discussion board.

Though it's almost a year since I joined WHA, I still get astounded daily by the sheer dedication , commitment and skill of the WHA community.

Long live and prosper WHA!

This wouldn't have been possible without all the awesome members and staff this site has accumulated over the 2 years. Thanks to everyone!
