Well, I see quite a few "How is Burlok like?" Threads popping up here so rather then answering every single thread I thought it would be good to have a single thread answering questions!

This thread will ofcourse be updated if new information arises.

First of all.. No the server is NOT dead, just so you know

The Community

The Community in Burlok is very mature. Both Destruction and Order (Though I can only attone for Destro, Im sure order is the same) have great guilds and people walking around. Ofcourse you have your occaisional bad apple but for the most part we are a happy bunch of people that are proud of our server.

Tier 1 doesn't exactly reflect the rest of the tiers on our server. It appears that the weird names are more apparent there but do not let that put you off! These names or bad apples rarely make it out of the early Tier 2's, so you should not notice much

We are a helpfull bunch and will assist in alot of endeavors, you have but to ask. We shall not burn you down if you do not know your lore, in fact the only reason I can see why we would shun you is if you got a name like "XXXLegolasPWnsXXX" or whatever. Thank god thats usually not the case!

Population Balance

Lately it seems that Order is getting the upper hand on our server. More so with the latest patch 1.2. But do not despair, though! We still have alot of Destruction forces that will do anything they can to prevent order from getting into the IC on a regular basis... Which results in alot of RvR for those who enjoy it!

The Roleplay

Roleplaying is very much alive on Burlok. If you approach someone in-character 9 out of 10 times that someone will respond in character, thus engaging in spontanious roleplay. Order has several places where you can go for regular roleplay (The Reikland Arms for Order), Destruction doesn't have such a place (As far as I know). Although Destruction has alot of spontanious roleplay. More often then not guilds will host server wide roleplay events as well. Either for their own faction (Wissenland Longcoats' Service to Sigmar for example) or for both factions (Firstborns Furious Wrath for example).

The RvR

Realm vs Realm is alive and kicking. We fight big and bloody battles in every tier and zones are locked down quite regurally. In the peak hours scenarios pop frequently in every tier and a single call for RvR in /1 channels or the appropiate RvR Dedicated channels (/Chan Order for Order, /Chan calltoarms for Destro) will yield in pretty good RvR results. As far as warbands go, from T1 to T3 its usually 1 to 2 warbands. In T4 I am not certain but I think it is around 3 warbands.

And for you Open RvR server lot, it is possible to flag yourself RvR whereever you want. Just don't expect that much action since most warbands duke it out in the RvR lakes

Chickening does happen I am affraid, though I think most of us aren't happy with it. Tier ranges are as followed:

Tier 1: 1 - 11.
Tier 2: 8 - 21.
Tier 3: 18 - 31.
Tier 4: 28 - 40.

If you are not in the tiers appropiate level range, you will be chickened. However, Chickening only happens if you are in a RvR lake or flag yourself RvR whilst out of the level ranges. You can go back to tier 1 as a level 30 and do all quests there and tome unlocks and what not. Just the moment you enter the RvR lake you get chickened.

My main concern was open rvr but when i think about it iv mybe killed less then 20 people outside the lakes so not that much of an issue.

Is it possible to flag myself for rvr? Heard it was possible to be rvr flagged outside the lakes.

Yep it is, right click on your avatar and click on "Flag for RvR".

Thanks Korathan, well i have just moved my toons over to Burlok and my BO has already seen action taking a keep in T3 just minutes after logging on. All have to do now is find a guild and i think i will be happy. I would just like to thank all the guys on Alarielle for making my first MMO a real blast.

Anyways Korathan did put it quite nicely in his original post. ORvR has been really active these two last weeks now. (Though it seems T3 order has gone hide somewhere ;__

It's a shame they didn't decide to keep any of the RP-ORvR servers :/ Had a alt WP on Alarielle.

Good to read this. You are very welcome to post this on the Alarielle board as far as I'm concerned. Just name the thread 'About Burlok' or something similar.

There are quite some people on Alarielle thinking Burlok is 'the next in line' for forced transfers to higher populated servers. If you could prove them wrong it would be a huge relief for some of them, I suppose.

No i dont think burlok is going to be hit by transfer off as our population is more than healthy and RvR action is everywhere. Many very good guilds leading and organising coordinated pushes on all zones etc. Zergs are evident of course, but saying that the RvR is starting to take on a very grand strategic element, and organised warbands/alliance groups are becoming widespread. Theres even smaller roaming groups that defend capped BOs and engage enemy reinforcments etc.
The community is first rate and overall seem a very mature bunch.Sure theres the occasional idiot but few and far between and silly names are not much in evidence thankfully.

I would like to add that Tier 1 doesn't really reflect the higher tiers.
You do encounter more immature players there and you see a lot of stupid names, but theese seem to never make it to the higher tiers. Most likely because they are mostly ignored or told off by the more serious players so they get bored. Which is good
I suppose it's because people from other servers start new characters, play for a few ranks and then quit.
