All I read there is "blah blah get stuffed EU guys "It's done when it's done(TM)" blah blah blah"

I still wait in vain for a EU Herald official post, only been a few months since the last after all

We do have some news about forums

http://www.war-europe.com/#/news/?id_news=en377&lang=en

Sadly it seems to imply that our forums are distinct from the the US ones. Great way to foster community spirit GOA/Mythic.

Well, I will stick it out till 1.2 is released but considering
a - the game is limited by the ISPs packet shaping technology, making it unplayable
b - the pretty damn poor performance issues in T4 (which is where the game is meant ot be played)
c - lack of community involvement in any way
d - lack of respect/decency shown to the EU community

This is pretty much the final goodbye.

Please combine the EU/US forums, or don't have them at all.

Separating the playerbase is a bad decision, as it enforces a kind of 'us and them' mentality between EU and US players.

EU players feel left out, unheard and unwanted.

I think the best bit is now they release patch notes on the US forums. EU players just have to wait until the patch hits or hope that a kind US player uploads the notes.

Doesn't really matter though, Mark jacobs has now solved the problem of bringing equal service to EU players by just blocking any way EU plyers have to communicate with him.

Now he can claim with 100% honesty "I haven't heard the EU players complain about GOA or disparities between how EU and US players are treated in months"

Quote:
Official Warhammer Online Forum members have direct access to the WAR developers and community team. Players who visit the Official Warhammer Online Forums can expect an additional level of interaction and a great place to get to know their fellow players.
So EU players officially now don't have access to the devs.

We look forward to increasing our level of communication with our player community even further,
In fact their not even part of the community at all it seems.

this.

I think sites like WHA will continue to maintain the same level of activity as long as the EU/US forums are separate, if for nothing else than its a single place where everybody comes.

Well this is an extract from todays EU news update:

Quote:
Once on the Official WAR Forums, you can expect to find a wealth of information and discussion about WAR. Fellow players and the Moderation Staff will be there to answer your questions and discuss your feedback. The WAR Community Team will also be there engaging in discussions and reading your feedback! In addition, you will have the opportunity to ask questions to the developers at Mythic and read their answers. There will also be direct chats with Mythic's developers for European players, the next one being scheduled for 19 March. Make sure to check our webpage for the upcoming announcement.
It sounds like a step in the right direct at least, although I'll wait until I see how it plays out in reality before I go getting excited. For the moment, after everything, I'm very much in the, "I'll believe it when I see it" camp.

a) This is an issue between your ISP and you. I don't know why you even remotely think this has anything to do with GOA/Mythic, why raise it here?

T4 is being fixed, the last two are exaggeration. If Mythic didn't respect the EU, there wouldn't be any EU content to complain about to start with.

It could be argued that Oceanic gets treated worse than the EU - Ironclaw is perhaps the laggiest server around.

What are the reasons to keep US and EU forums separate?

It's just plain dumb, and I hate it.

It's mostly because Mythic has no experiance running massive forums like this. Their internal boards have always been fairly basic and technically entry level. Something like these boards require a great deal of sophisitication that they simply are unable to do. Could it have been done? Easily. Mythic just isn't that technically proficient.

I can think of alot of MMO companies that use separate forums for the US and EU, like say Blizzard. Are you seriously trying to say that those companies have the know how to put together something as advanced as a game yet don't even know how to build a basic forum? Seriously?

The forums are split to make them easier to manage, that's why Blizzard did it, that's why Mythic are doing it. Is it really necessary? No. But that is why they are doing it.
