[EU] Official EU Forums are coming

From the EU Herald, we have news about the official EU forums:

Quote:
With the highly anticipated opening of the Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Forums in Europe upon us, we wanted to delve a little deeper into some of the questions we've received about them, including key features, signup/login details and the Veteran of WAR program. Read on for all the details!

The signup process for the Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Forums is very easy. You simply log in using the same username and password you use to play the game, select the forums and you're good to go! Anyone will be able to read the forums, but you must have an active Warhammer Online account to post. Eventually when you log in to the forums, you will be able to select a profile for any of your characters to display their career, Rank and Realm Rank info, guild name, server name, and a Tier-based Avatar. Your forum username will be the nickname you selected when you set up your account on our web site.

We are aware that some of you selected a nickname which wasn't intended to be displayed in public. To address this issue we will offer you the possibility to change the nickname linked to your account for a limited time before the launch of our forums.

Once on the Official WAR Forums, you can expect to find a wealth of information and discussion about WAR. Fellow players and the Moderation Staff will be there to answer your questions and discuss your feedback. The WAR Community Team will also be there engaging in discussions and reading your feedback! In addition, you will have the opportunity to ask questions to the developers at Mythic and read their answers. There will also be direct chats with Mythic's developers for European players, the next one being scheduled for 19 March. Make sure to check our webpage for the upcoming announcement.

We will be rewarding those who are exceptional contributors and helpful posters via the Veterans of WAR program. Becoming a Veteran will be simple and rewarding. All it will take is to be a helpful contributing member who posts great constructive feedback, or someone who is an awesome source of information that helps players start off on the right foot. When you become a part of the Veterans team, you'll earn increased access to the Community Team, early sneak-peaks at updates and future content, and maybe even a chance for in-game rewards! Being a Veteran of WAR will also open up the opportunity to participate in the Core Tester program if you are a skilled and dedicated player. The Veterans of WAR program is a great way to support the community and get more out of WAR.

The forums will officially open in March right after the release of 1.2! We are looking forward to seeing you on the forums - taking your game experience to a whole new level, and improving our interaction and your community!

We're very excited about welcoming everyone to the new forums, and hope to see you there! We look forward to increasing our level of communication with our player community even further, and to better maintaining the commitment to service you have come to expect from us. We'd also like to say thank you to all of our existing fan sites for all of the effort and hard work you continue to put in every day - we look forward to the new opportunities we can create for you in the future!

The forums will officially open in March right after the release of 1.2!

I'm kinda sad to see this. I enjoy mixing it up with those across the pond.

I don't like this, I would FAR rather have shared official forums for ALL players of WAR (and all the polls I've seen on the issue say the same). The last thing we need is more segregation.

What's the odds GOA's forums will be a horrible miasma of bloody Flash?

So do I, a lot of people I've gamed with in the past live in the USA, and I can't game with them any longer because we all play WAR, but have been alienated by Mythic.

Blizzard I can understand them doing it, they have a huge budget enabling them to have a decent sized staff on EU and US areas.

Mythic I'm pretty sure don't have anything close to Blizz's budget, considering subscriber numbers, but have chosen the unbelievable option of destroying relations between US and EU customers.

I enjoyed reading our Newsletter, but the US one was better and it just made me angry reading it because it had so much more coming up for them, with not a word for us EU customers who PAY JUST AS MUCH AS the US guys. A rough live date for things not mentioned at all in the EU newsletter would be better than this blank stonewall we get right now.

Although I really hoped they would listen to us and don't split the forums into a US and a EU version I expected this would happen. And while I could live with separate forums when it comes to posting it's a real shame we can't even read them.

Wasn't it possible to be more negative guys? DOOM!!! DOOOOOOOM! DOOOM! I say, the dooom is upon us, the end of the world as we know it! Let me sing you the Doom song! All together now, Doom, dooom, dooom, doom, dooom, doooom, doom! Are we suffenciently depressed yet? Doom, doom, doom!

People, please... change the tune, the EU sucks because it's GOA tune is really getting old.

GoA is following their obligation thus far. That we usually get things a little later then the US I'm sure will hurt some long lost European imperialcolony minded ego's, but getting things moments (days) after the US is rather on the childish side to complain about.

At least I hope this will enable a good playerbase communcation. If it does not then you can scream doom and fire and brimstone.

But you can, which has been stated so many times I'm sure Adam G is beginning to hate the Teflon/goldfish brains of the wonderful EU people.

As 1.2 goes live it becomes readable to the public, you need an active US game account to POST. The exact same as for the EU, you need an active EU account to POST on the EU forums.

And the point of preventing us from reading the forums before 1.2 goes live is what? To make sure we are as little involved in the development of 1.2 as possible?

But I'm sure insulting us will help.

Please, please, please don't do this! Splitting up the community is the worst idea ever, I enjoy speaking with people from across the pond!

Even if the devs pay the same attention to both forums (wich remains to be seen) I dont like the idea of splitting up the community.

As a customer i just say that i am not entirely happy with that desicion, we are not talking about gloom n doom. geez.

I do hope that they dont allow kidies on the official forums distrupting the threads with inmature comments.

I like the idea of only letting people who have active accounts post, although we'll still need places like WA to keep interested parties (ie, those with lapsed accounts or interested in joining the game) abreast of what's happening in game etc...

As for the EU/Rest of the world split - I'm going to try and look on the positive side. GOA must now pay attention to it's customers, it must pass our concerns (and praise) onto EA/Mythic who must take onboard any feedback, good or bad from the EU customers.

I look forward to participating in the EU forum.

What the hell is wrong with GOA? I have not seen one person that would want a EU forum if we were given a choice between US/EU and one official forum.

I had hoped they could at least get Recruit-a-friend up before the EU forums.

Personally I think I'll be sticking to the Warhammer Alliance forums.
If they really wanted an official forum, they would have done this months before the actual release.
