Warhammer Alliance is Going to Games Day Baltimore!

Greetings WAR Community,

We're happy to announce that we have been granted a special opportunity to bring you the latest and greatest in all the happenings surrounding the Warhammer Online universe!

As you may know, the Games Day Baltimore event is upcoming, and WAR is going to be there. The Games Days are Games Workshop's series of events highlighting the best of the Warhammer Universe, including Warhammer Online. Attendees will get to experience the upcoming Tomb Kings content, have a chance at some really neat prizes, and hopefully meet some of the dedicated and hard-working developers for the game.

In support of the community, and in recognition of the fansite element of WAR that has been such a huge and significant part of the game's development, EA and Mythic Entertainment have graciously invited Warhammer Alliance out to Baltimore to bring you the inside track on all things WAR. We'll be joining other great and amazing sites such as Massively, MMORPG.com, and Ten Ton Hammer to get you all access and coverage on Tomb Kings, the current state of the game, and tons of impressions and thoughts from Mythic on the ever-changing WAR. For this journey, I plan on being your guide, mouthpiece, and doorway into all of the juicy info Mythic will be spilling!

We're still finalizing things for all our nefarious plans to bring you coverage of WAR at Games Day Baltimore, but here are some possible teasers to whet your appetites:
  • Behind-the-scenes coverage/previews of Tomb Kings, including never-before-seen details and new information
  • Live blogging of Games Day Baltimore over Twitter (follow PhoenixRed)
  • Interviews with Mythic's finest, with many of the questions coming from you, the community!
  • Detailed impressions, praise, and criticism of all of the latest WAR info at Baltimore
  • Tons of photos and visuals from the event
We would like to offer our thanks to Mythic, GOA, and EA for this great opportunity to gain access to some of the best WAR has to offer, and hope that support will continue for all the great fansites in the WAR community. That being said, our thanks also has to go out to all of the WAR community, without which we would never have been where we are today. You've been a huge part of us getting this chance to be in Baltimore, and we plan on paying you back in spades!

Specific threads will be posted on Warhammer Alliance to solicit thoughts and questions for our coverage - so keep an eye out!

Not to be doom and gloom but after MJB basically blacklisted WHA this speaks volumes on the state of the game. Mythic is looking for freinds wherever they can get them these days.

One person choosing not to post on a fansite does not "blacklist" the site, even if that person happens to be the CEO of the company. I can pull many posts from Mythic employees since that post by MBJ that show Mythic still provided (and still provides) support to this site to this day. Any notion that this site was "blacklisted" by Mythic is patently false. If one person chooses, for whatever reason, not to patronize our site, then, just like any fan, that is their choice and we will respect it. However, no one person, no matter how prominent, represents an entire body of people - and that includes Mythic. There's many great individuals who work at the company and Mark is one of those.

The invitation to attend Games Day Baltimore for neato inside coverage is actually the result of a long-standing relationship we have had with Mythic.

Really, while from a certain point of view being pessimistic about the game's state, outlook, and future is completely valid and certainly has its arguments, I think this is a case where you are stretching it just a bit too far. There's a difference between being "doom and gloom" and seeking out "doom and gloom" even if there isn't much of it to go on.

I think Mythic is pushing for their official forums to get more press than other forums. Having x number of active posters on their official forums looks better on paper to the execs at EA than y number on fansites.

I'll be at Gamesday Baltimore, i live very close and have never gone before...

At the risk of being 'doom and gloom', I'll say that there is far more likelihood of bad news regarding this game being announced there than good.

Also, having the CEO of the company (and a major spokesman for the game) choose to no longer post here anymore, cannot be seen as anything but a negative.

I also live in the area and will be attending Games Day. Should be intersting to say the least. WHA has been and probably will continue to be the main WAR forums regardless of Mythic's wishes or desires. That said I was crushed when MJB stopped posting here and chose to have discussions on other sites. Glad you guys were invited and I know Garthilk and Mythic never had a falling out, MJB just stopped posting here because of the community I suppose and put a personal stop on his comments here vs putting a Mythic stop on posting comments. Still he's the figurehead and steers the company and postings by others at Mythic dropped off also months after. Again, this Games Day should be interesting.

Can jealousy turn you into a greenskin?

All I am going to say is that I am horribly jealous, and curse my inability to attend. I strongly suggest that WHA takes a look at the TT, and gets back to the roots of the game a little. We can't forget Games Workshop is the diety, and Mythic is a glorious profit, or conduit to bring us this awesome. (No, I am not a fanboi, I just love me some old-school TT carnage)

Indeed folks, Lagwar and WA just started chatting about possible collaboration and evil, nefarious plans for the benefit of all. Be sure to check out both sites, we'll have a combined metric ton of coverage!

Yea they are, and we should all post there. They are vary informative and have great feedback about upcoming events etc. The devs also post there tons.

TBH the Warhammer Official forums are better than wows and other games i have played. And WHA are also vary good.

Not quite sure where i saw it and someone might need to correct or confirm me but Mythic is giving away several things for those that go to gamesday. Was i think a list of 5 items 2 being the choppa teeth and snorri spikes.

If the WHA can swing it I think it would be cool to get some of those codes and do their own little giveaway.
